Hiragana Pro

Honestly this is just flash cards, but that's what makes it useful. The only things I would change is the ability to set which characters are available. Most people learn by memorizing the sets of Hiragana one row at a time so the ability to restrict new characters, or just set which row of characters you want to be tested on, until you're comfortable would be a nice feature for beginners. Also, adding voiced options to the default mode would be nice. Still this is an exceptionally nice product, with the only thing being hidden behind a paywall is the ability to do a quiz that runs through all the characters.

I took me less than an hour to learn the basic hiragana, great app, I'm pretty sure that anyone who dedicates at least half hour to this app daily will see great results. I totally recommend buying the unlocked version ($0.99) totally worth it.

Basic and voiced seem like the same thing. I think it would be better for voiced to be where the large kana is replaced by an icon of a speaker and the Romaji options to be replaced by kana that way we can practice matching sound to kana instead of romaji.

I really like this app, and it has helped with my hiragana no end. I do it for half an hour or so a day for practice. Like some other reviewers I would like it better if you could specify which group of characters to practise - I want to spend more time working on the latter ones as I know the first rows quite well already, but the only options are to randomise all characters or start the tuition over again.

I love this it helps me memorize how each symbol sounds and I'm getting better at identifying it now when people write it

I've been interested in Japanese since I was young but always used the (romaji?) romanized/phonetic alphabet so I could sound out words or lyrics. I never thought I could start to comprehend the actual written language. I have so much fun using your app. The combination of sound, visual, repetition, and memory testing is appealing and cohesive with my learning style. Thank you! I paid for the app upgrade so I can quiz and time myself, which is fun and useful because I'm competitive with myself!

Wonderfully helpful! Only thing I'd like to see is an option to add the voiced sounds and combined characters to the main learning section. You can still access these characters, but they're in the "quiz" section of the app. Other than that, stellar learning app!

This is really an awesome app to learn Hirogana! The only thing that's difficult to use is the small included keyboard. It would be nice to have an option to use my own keyboard.

If you add an ultimate test with the complete hiragana (and a similar practice version of it, but with unlimited sequence) I'll rate it 5 stars. Try to add the feature not only into this app, but into Katakana Pro as well.

The app teaches the use of Dakuten and Handakuten, but does put it into practice, this is the app's only downside.

I love it. I wish it did the voiced and combo like it did with kana. Teaching you the characters and sound as they introduced it to you as you gain stars as you go.

This helped greatly, namely with the combos and voiced combos. Maybe now I can avoid accidentally saying perverted things when practicing with my friend XD (Not even joking....)

Very helpful in quickly jogging the memory, also my friend memorized them all in 2 days and can write them easily now.

Easy to use, quick to learn and fun. I strongly recommend all users to turn on "play kana audio on correct awnser" as it's a brilliant way to learn the pronunciations.
