About Verbal Working Memory Test
When someone reads out numbers such as a phone number or account number, do you have trouble storing the numbers in your memory? Do you have to get people to repeat things to fully remember what was said? If so, you might have poor verbal short-term memory. This can impact your ability to learn new spoken vocabulary and on your reading and spelling skills.
Improve your verbal short-term memory by listening to numbers. This app reads out numbers, so you can practice storing the numbers in your working memory. This app can read out numbers in another language. You can change the voice language from your phone Text-to-Speech Settings.
How to use this app:
1. Press “New Number” to begin. Remember to turn on the volume.
2. This app reads out the numbers. Input the numbers in the text box. Press “Read Number” if you want this app to read out the numbers again.
3. Press “Check” to find out if your input is correct.
Options:
Number of digits - The number of digits that this app generates.
Slow Speech Rate - Click this check box if you want this app to slowly read the numbers.
Set the voice language - Press menu and select Text-to-Speech Settings.
This app uses your phone text-to-speech engine. If you want to change the language, go to (Android 2.3) Settings > Voice input & output > Text-to-speech settings > Language.
(Android 4.0 and above) Settings > Language & input > Text-to-speech output > the icon beside Pico TTS > Language.
