Retro Rogue for Android
One of the best games I've played so far
Worth $1. No flaws, plays smooth. Here's my suggestions so far: Merchant system- buy/sell option in inventory, or a random dungeon merchant. Equip button in loot menu. random bosses or boss rooms, indicated by glowing color (rarity). Map button. Should fully heal upon level up. See what stats increased upon level up. beastiary, with monster info, added after they've been defeated. Inventory sort button
Pretty great game so far. It's fun and very thought out. Maybe as a suggestion you could add classes and more stats like agility, intelligence, etc and also give skills and stat points to allocate. There's a lot you can do with this really. Also maybe have it where you can buy stuff, towns, save games, and if you die, you go back to the town you last saved at or something. Otherwise really fun!

A skill tree or two would be nice
There is a game called red knight that pretty much Is just a blatant copy of this one (idk which on came first). And when I say blatant I mean it, potions- same texture. Same blue knight skin. Same everything really. Edit- OK I read your last comment. No need to reply, great game. 5 stars for me. No need to be rude, but, your icons for red knight, are the same. I would look into changing your icon, might attract for people maybe, just suggesting. Thanks.
Fun at first, easy to level up, plenty of gear to sift through. But after the 7th dungeon you start to wonder if this game is going anywhere. I got bored and went looking for a better game
Played this game for a few minutes now, but not why I am rating. A few days ago, I emailed him with an issue, my download wasn't able to start. It was an issue with my hardware being compatible I assume. In only 3 days, with me not giving adequet details, The dev has fixed the issues, and gameplay is seamless
Been playing for a bit, and starting to figure out the movements and mechanics! Love the retro bar, running around and all! Super fun game and we'll worth the $1!! Suggestions: Be able to purchase potions/market. Maybe have boots that can move two tiles instead of just one. An attack and shield button that counts as a "wait turn". Lastly, maybe connecting rooms or different Forrest levels.
Really wanna play this but black screen on start, HTC Wildfire S. Android 2.3.5.
Instant classic. Well worth every penny. Can't wait for updates and new content. "Hint" shops, map, skills. The "retroness" slider is worth 5 stars in itself
Yeah, there's a certain amount of luck involved. Finding health and equipments efficiently seems to make all the difference. Wish I could buy and sell equipments and that the dungeons were more maze-like. I wish most of all that the game didn't end. I wanted to keep playing. I wish there was a time element involved (like running out of food in a certain amount of realtime so that you would have to resurface for nourishment). You would have to mark your path with discarded equipment so as to not get lost...
Its hard but fun, if you could make the keypad more fluid if you understand what I mean
"update: no crash on startup now, i hear the music to the game but still only a black screen :(".......................................................... same as everone else, hangs on startup and then crashes. using an older gingerbread 2.3.6 on a galaxy ace 2. this should be compatible. no i dont have any updates available for my os

I saw the game and almost passed until I read all of the comments. This is an awesome dev who is earning his customers. Plus, after I got the game, I realized that it's an awesome game and getting better all the time. With constant improvement from the dev, I see a bright future for retro rogue.
One of the best games I've played so far
Lots of replay value, its worth your $1 more than angry birds.
A skill tree or two would be nice
Loads of fun
Impossible to get anywhere after update.
I surely hope there are more adventures slated for this game! Nine levels is a bit short. Good job, dev!
I absolutely love the game, downloaded started played 2 minutes cause I was busy and had to quit for now and felt obligated to rate it right away. Just melted my retro-gaming heart immediately.
Not nearly as fun as i had hoped. You constantly pick up items and have to inventory manage. In and of itself this would not be so bad. Although there are different looking enemies they all behave the same.
Reminds me of this game I used to play all the time Castle Of The Winds! Very awesome :D
It's pretty fun. I can't say I'm the biggest fan of rogue likes. In fact, i don't think I've found a more infuriating game but i can't stop playing for some reason. A shop would be nice though. And it would give the unbelievably over abundant equipment a purpose. Also, after level 3, the health potions pretty much cease which is bad since enemies don't regenerate and they seem to get exponentially stronger each floor. Also, the health potions become painstakingly useless as your level progresses. Js.
I want to sell my stuff, save, and get more potions as much as the next guy, but overall it's a really great way to get some quick RPG action in. For a dollar, you can't go wrong with this game.
Really kinda cool game great varity of mobs, BUT absolute hate starting from very beginning, should be some way to save at least for every new lol
Gave 3 stars because game is fun, however there is nothing that I could see that defines one games character from another. Yeah you can get better equipment and go deeper into the dungeon but nothing else made one games character different. So replay ability dwindled quickly. Maybe if the game evolved some aspects which help define one games main character then I could get back into it.
Could greatly benefit from a town hub or merchants, upgrade trees, maps and better level design such as mazes and traps. Could also benefit from better randomness as getting to the first door in the dungeon and having 6 monsters to fight with only half energy gets old. The difficulty should build not be constant. Immersive mode support would be nice as well as Google Play Services integration such as high scores, achievements, cloud saves, and game gifts.
I'm still having the same problems that I've seen in the other reviews. I have a Boost mobile zte 2.3.5. I hear the music but see black even though the app got updated. I was really looking forward to playing
Hear music screen black pressed home button did not work still
Excellent gameplay for only $1. Has potential to be much, much more. What about occasional misses when attacking (both player & enemy)? Potion of speed? Ranged weapons? Also, respawning enemies will help both to keep level interesting & not run out of potions. PS after latest update, the game gets stuck with blank screen after switching away to another app and back. Rebooting phone (HTC desire) fixes it. Hope this will get fixed in next update.
Downloaded with no problem after latest update but got black screen again on first attempt to play but with music this time. But loaded up fine on second attempt. Think I'm gonna love this game....ok had a chance to dive in. One fatal flaw. Survival is entirely dependant on finding heal potions. There needs to be a turn based recovery system. Or heal when yiu go between lvls for the first time or rooms or when you go outside. Maybe add escape scrolls...
A fun little roguelike. I always feel like I could use a little more health, but I find myself playing it over and over. My only wish list items would be for a health replenishment upon level up, and for the hero sprite to reflect what I have equipped.
Really fun but I would love to see sum moga luv.
Not nearly as fun as i had hoped. You constantly pick up items and have to inventory manage. In and of itself this would not be so bad. Although there are different looking enemies they all behave the same and there is no way to attack creatively to avoid, damage. I wish i could get my money back because I feel cheated.
Great game! Nostalgia
I want to sell my stuff and get more potions. And maybe not starting over every time?
