Squadron - Bullet Hell Shooter

On paper, this is a really good game. The graphics are sleek, the ship-changing mechanic is a lot of fun, and the music is enjoyable to listen to. However, the gameplay doesn't feel satisfying at all, and that's what brings the game down, unfortunately. The ship never really handles as well as one wants or needs it to; the movement just isn't fluid at all. Also, the final boss is incredibly cheap and not a proper challenge, because one of the ship's core mechanics is useless, in that it doesn't work.

I love bullet hells and this was so much fun to play. The ability to switch between 4 ships is a great design. It's engaging and extensive. In terms of improvement, the one bit of advice I can offer to the creator of this game app is to fix the issue where the program freezes if you try to restart the boss fights (on all difficulties) for the last planet.

Smooth gameplay, with a great dance beat to play to. The game reminds me of some great NES games I played as a kid! Extreme difficulty is extremely challenging (to the point of frustration sometimes...good!). I recommend the medium setting over easy if you're looking for "normal" difficulty. Very happy my phone has a stylus. Makes the game super easy to control. Highly recommended.

A lot of thought has been put into compensating for touch screen controls and though it is no replacement for a joystick or D-pad I believe them to be as perfect as one can achieve for a touch screen. As for game play it's great, there's four types of ships, i.e. the weapons or more specifically the bullet speed, damage and movement patterns. One gun is super cheap though (the rotating blade one)

Hard game, but it is fun and fair. Very addictive. But it can get repetitive with the same 3 planets. Changing ships on the fly is a very cool and unique idea. Maybe having a selection (say 10 ships, pick 4) could be an awesome idea.

Needs more levels. Also, what's up with the ship jumping to the location of my finger? 1945 didn't do that. It makes it almost impossible to steer thru the blitzkrieg, and see from all around! If I take my finger of screen, I might as well forget about it bc once I set it back down, the ship is gonna jump thru fire and blow up.

Good engine and powerups, and I like the multi-ship setup. Needs bosses and longer levels, though. The levels are so short that you don't have time to enjoy your powerups because as soon as you're fully powered, you're done. Good game, needs expansion.

Very cool video and audio experience but nothing like a shoot-'em-up on a regular computer. The touchscreen control is not very easy to use as opposed to something like a joystick. About as nice as a shoot-'em-up can be on a phone-computer.

Really enjoyed the game on my Sony z2 (1080 screen) but now gameplay is too jerky on the more powerful Samsung s7 edge, presumably because of the strain of rendering on a higher res screen.

This game has so much potentional to be one of the most fun downloaded games. The controls need improvement, the ship loses calibration with my finger and you're unable to control it, please work on this

Only 1 ship has the ability to destroy enemy ammo so if that ship gets blown up your stuck with 3 ships that will get blown up due to it getting impossible to dodge enemy ammo.1 more flaw,u should be able to keep your power ups for the next level for the whatever ship u collected them on.Movement on ships are not as responsive smooth or fluid as i would like.

This game is both incredibly easy to pick up and play with it's very simple controls but Dynamic and also very difficult to proceed but in a very confrontational and enjoyable way

So in searching for a top down shooter I found this. I like the basics of the game, but feel like it could be even better with some developement. I haven't finished it yet though. The adds are annoying, but the 'free' and 'no permissions required' tags puts this game at the top for me. Thanks

Yep. Its a bullet hell game, but a tamed one. It's a real easy bullet hell. For other spaxe shooter fans out there: this is a perfect intro to bullet hell games. Good luck!!!

No microtransactions, no bullcrap. Just pure, utter terror. Get a wrist strap on, or better yet, glue your device to the table, cause you're gonna get DIVORCED with your device by the time you realise you threw it at a wall... Extreme difficulty? No kidding!!

A great entertaining time waster with lots of action and upgrades. Nice graphics and game music and sound effects. I may add to this review as I get more experience playing; I just started.

Good relaxing game. Haven't messed with the harder difficulties but the games pretty easy. 4 different ships to play, each with their own unique style. The big point I like in this game is that the ships have a circle indicating their hitbox. Unlike other games you don't have to guess where the hitbox actually is.

Love the game, fairly easy to learn BUT I hate the extra step you must go to in order when going to the next level. Remove the video requirement!

The game was too easy to get to the final boss by watching annoying video you can get another Ijet just finished the extreme mode and please develop more sound effects.

This is just a space copy of your other crappy game. You make the absolute worst "classic" games. You left out the bosses and all the fun! BORING!!!

The weapons aren't particularly balanced, there are enemies that spawn on top of you, and you have to strategically keep enemies alive to chain your combo. The levels are pretty repetitive, but the game is enjoyable anyway.

Good game with no paywall and no permissions asked. Disabled notifications via settings (didn't find in game way to do so) but in game ads are not obtrusive (other than the first, but that is before gameplay so it is fine for me)

I'm addicted to this game. Once i start playing this game its so hard to stop & it makes time pass really fast. Has good graphics with simple control.

I found some terrible problems that ruins the game: 1) there is only one single boss (that is well made at least). In classic bullet hells there are tons of them whit different patterns and abilities. 2)levels are a bit repetitive (but not so much). 3)The 4th ship clear the bullets in front of it whit his attacks... Is possible beat the final boss without moving... Luckily music is awesome. I recommend to play in extreme for avoid the boring side of the game.

Sounds.like those old arcade styled games like astroids :) .. Update July 2016 i got back to playing this game again , still addictive and fun

One of the best action games I've played so far!! specially when my girlfriend gets me fired up is the best distraction from going crazy! "So I kick ass!!"

It's so much fun, holy poop, it's just awesome and easy but the levels get more difficult, it's pretty intense with all the power up things haha heck yeah !

I would give it five stars..it's just that everytime i get enough power ups for two or three of my favorite ships just in case i need it,...it goes away and my ships no longer have the power ups i took risk and time to get for the next round. Other than that it's on point. Ps the boss is super easy on any difficulty all i have to do is stay in one spot and shot to win lol

Three out of four ships are completely useless the only one that does any good is the one that throws the blades the other ones are extremely underpowered.

I have been looking for a good bullet hell experience, and this is a great one. The passive/active switch brings a dynamic of strategy and analysis not found in others of this genre. I give kudos to the developers!

Very tiny ads that don't get in the way. The game itself runs great. It's fast paced and scratches that space shooter itch. Good game.

It's not like other games, you only have one life.and when you're out of ships, you need to watch a video to get some.

If your a fan of the pilot navigator games like I have been since I was a kid you will love this one. Weapons are pretty cool and power ups are great thanks designer

Impressed with the lay-out, especially with the feature that once you remove your finger from the screen it slows down in slow motion so you can change your weapons. Definitely different, I love it.

Gameplay is great and the only thing stopping this from 5 stars is the control method. If I had a Bluetooth controller to use with this it would be perfect.

Sometimes I can't see cause my fingers are in the way, but other than that it's a great game.

I have nothing other to say than, awesome, awesome, has a sense of retro style gaming and overall it's great, and when you get upgrades, it gets sexier and sexier.
