Atomic is a fun board game, the goal is to wipe out your opponent's atoms.
Touch a square (either a blank one, or one of your own colour) to place an atom.
If you get 4 atoms into a central square it will explode and take over the neighbouring squares. You only need three atoms to explode an edge square and two for a corner one.
Exploding the atoms can set off long chain reaction which can quickly change the look of the board.
The game is over when there is just one colour left.
Atomic can be played by up to 4 players. You can choose any mix of human and computer (AI) players. You can even set 4 computer players against each other!
You can set the 'intelligence' of any computer players before starting the game.
This game is based on the Amiga game 'Atoms' by Tom Kuhn which was itself inspired by Atoms on the Atari ST done by B Hewlett.

When the machine plays it's turn, it plays very fast thus making it difficult to see what's going on, on the screen.. apart from that, it's a nice game!

Would be better if we could see the CPU action Clearly cause it's way too fast especially in 3+ player.... Also the menu button does not match the hard/soft option menu

Simple and fun This is a simple and fun version of Atoms.

Enjoyable game, glad to see it resurrected. The screen button to reset board is annotingly small and difficult to hit on my SG. Played the ST version back in the day. CPU not at all challenging one on one in this new version though. Multiple CPU opponents provide more of a challenge, but corner grabbing still ensures fairly consistent victories against them. Game play most enjoyable against human opponents. Game play easily grasped by children and seems a stimulating challenge for them.
