Upwords

I really like this game but the computer opponent cheats so it's frustrating. Like playing made up words and being able to add just an s at the end of a word when I cannot. Plus it doesn't acknowledge words I create that are actual ligetimate words.

I love the game but many a times it seems to me that the computer is cheating by using words that I cant find in the dictionary that I am using. It also uses colloquial words of different dialects of British English that non-Brits will not be able to understand or compete with. That should be one form of cheating as well. I hope this gets corrected soon.

Good game but the adverts are relentless and buggy as hell. There have been times where I place one tiles and have to fully close the game because of the onslaught of adverts and Playstore download prompts!

This is a digital adaptation of the board game UpWords. Only problem is notifications don't work. The sounds sometimes comes through but not the notification bar. I have contacted the support twice with no response.

Great game BUT computer uses highly obscure and even words not in Oxford dictionary (Ash used laker, saughs. Sort out for 5 star

The computer uses words that are not in the dictionary, or are slang, or from other countries. It makes it extremely frustrating!

As a lifelong Scrabble player, who's transitioned to Words With Friends, I find that Upwords challenges my brain and makes me consider strategy in a wholly different way.

It's okay I guess, not too great.

This is my second uninstall reinstall since my installing the last update. The game has been glitchy.

Upwords is a great game. The app is coming along, however it lacks the option to play an unrated friendly game. I hope you understand.

General operation is good. Pop up adverts are a nuisance but better now I've worked out how to turn the sound off! I agree with previous reviewer that the computer makes moves I would think of as cheating. Not sure what dictionary they are using but some of the words are a bit obscure. Nevertheless keeps me occupied on train journeys.

Seriously needs an option to swap more than one letter. If you get a bad hand with a tight board, you're stuck playing an unenjoyable frustratingly slow game, which happens about 80% of the time.

I waited a long, long time for an authentic UpWords experience and it's finally here, and done right. It's almost the only well balanced word-based board game other than Scrabble/WWF.

App still crashes a lot don't get notifications when it's my turn. Made all the purchases over the years but why haven't you fixed the problem.

I absolutely hate that even though you have no sounds on for game play ads are loud and obnoxious. I might play late at night when people are sleeping and suddenly it starts playing a loud ad!

Game is great BUT it does not switch to next players turn unless game is closed AMD reopened. Will be deleting after our first game. Thank you

Great game. Really makes you think. Used to play the board game with my mum , but since she passed away I havent had anyone to play with.. now i do! Love it!

Sometimes I think the words are impossibly obscure, but then, so am i.

The lag time for the opponent'S turn is a bit long

Which dictionary are they using? Playing the computer opponent is not a level playing field! e.g. "Okeh" is from an urban dictionary, when did this become acceptable? In the same mode scoring sometimes goes fails, even on occasion awarding the earned points to the opponent. If things improve or even a choice of which dictionary was applied I, for one would be much happier. It's still a fantastic rendering of the game!!

I have never complained about adds before in an app, after all they need to make money, but there were so many in this game I could not even finish the first game. Every other move an add, plus banner adds, even as I tried to tell if I liked it. Would I pay to remove the adds, we will never know. Uninstalling. Pity I love this game in real life. Perhaps a less money grabbing version may appear. If so I will try again.
