About Droid-CPC
Droid-CPC is an Amstrad CPC emulator for Android.
The Amstrad CPCs were 8 bits computers popular in Europe.
You can now play thousands of CPC games on your Android device.
Droid-CPC supports:
- Virtual Joystick on touchscreen (analog or directions keys)
- Virtual keyboard
- Hardware gamepads (XB360, Moga, etc.) with customable controls
- Hardware keyboards
- Snapshots (you can save / restore the state of the CPC, so any game can be saved / loaded)
- OpenGL renderer
- Android TV
"Satellite Attack" (a little game I wrote a long time ago) is provided with the emulator so you can quickly check how the emulator works.
How to install and launch games:

You can install games (.dsk files) in /sdcard/Kokak/droidcpc/Disks (/sdcard is your device's internal flash memory, not the real SDCard).
For each .dsk file you add, you can add a .opt file (= a text file with the same name as the dsk) containing the name of the executable on the floppy disk. So, when you will select the dsk in the launch window, the game will be launched automatically.
Example: for satat.dsk, satat.opt contains "SATELAT.BAS" which is the executable.
To launch games manually, under the basic prompt, simply type:
RUN"executable, where "executable" is the .BAS or .BIN file on the floppy disc.
You can list the files by typing the "CAT" command.
Droid-CPC should work at full framerate on any device.
There are options on the launch window (please scroll it if necessary).
Check "Use Arrows" to replace the virtual analog stick by 4 directions keys.
Uncheck "LowRes Buffer" to have a readable "Mode 2" (slower on low-end devices)
Uncheck "Full Screen" to have original screen ratio.
Inside the emulator, tap the '+' icon to see disks, snapshots, turbo, joystick mapping, reset, numeric keypad, arrows options, the Escape key, and Keyboard to Gamepad mapping.
When the "Keypad" icon is selected it sends numeric keypad keycodes to the emulator when you press numeric keys on the virtual keyboard.
The "Esc" (Escape) key next to the "Keypad" icon sends the "Esc" key to the emulator.
You can use the "arrows" icon (below the "disk" icon) to swap between virtual joypad and arrows virtual keys ingame.
The joystick mapping icon let you map on-screen to an hardware gamepad.
The Keyboard to Gamepad mapping icon let you map keys (from the virtual keyboard or a real keyboard) to an hardware Gamepad.

Worked great on my Samsung S4 phone but now I've upgraded to an S6 the keyboard no longer works so cannot use it anymore. I tried reinstalling but this didn't help. I'm using latest version from play store.

Doesn't run Fruity Frank which was the single game I bought Droid Cpc for. Reported crash several times. Edit: I also emailed the DSK to you as you requested. edit: it turned out to be a problem with the folder. apparently dsks will need to be in a specific folder. updated my rating.

A welcome & noble effort, but the GUI needs much improvement. An easier method of touchscreen button mapping should be included, and perhaps a proper Amstrad CPC 464 transparent overlay keyboard instead of the device's native keyboard would be greatly appreciated. Long keyboard presses are also not supported. Settings should be available via the device's Menu button, as should the initial start-up menu options. Aside from the GUI, the app would be worthy of a full five stars. Please improve the GUI!

Awesome emu, plays Covenant flawlessly... just won't run .dsk files from my SD Card. On screen controls are an example to other emu authors as to how to implement touchscreen movement... So many have useless fixed controls whereas Droid-CPC thoughtfully makes joystick moves relative to wherever you put your thumb making it actually usable.

It's great to see my old amstrad games again. Since updating to s6 edge the keyboard input doesn't work any more. The games I want to play are batman, batman the movie and head over heels. Also batman the movie game requires a diagonal option on the controls for the rope. It is possible to press both buttons at the same time but it is a little fiddly. Could you fix the samsung s6 edge keyboard support? The diagonal buttons would be great as well if possible. Can't wait for future releases with fixes

Whilst I appreciate the effort, this is just not worth the hassle. There's no reason you shouldn't be able to just load roms without having to type commands and mess around in BASIC to get things working. And since upgrading my phone this doesn't work at all since the keyboard doesn't register when typing things in. I think when you are charging money for something you need to make sure it actually works well - this doesn't. I'd love a decent CPC emulator on Android, but this isn't it.

Works so well as a touchscreen-controlled app. Is there any way to map menu controls to my wireless gamepad so that I can exit the app in-game and also raise the keyboard interface? If so; this would be a five star review!

It works but it could be more user friendly. Why the need for files to be in the disk directory on internal? Why no option to store that directory on external? Also when Bluetooth gamepad is connected it is impossible to access the virtual keyboard therefore you cannot load any games

Superb emulation despite keyboard not being quite responsive enough for true game play...joystick, no such problems. App currently only in landscape would be great if could also display in portrait...especially useful if keyboard responsiveness improves. But worth every penny, thanks.

Trying to play 3 weeks in paradise but the keyboard controls are hut and miss as to whether they work. Trying to pick up an item by pressing 1 for example can take several hits before it works. Great to play Sorcery+ again though!

Having a problem with games. Sound will start and cut off immediately before finishing the paticular noise. For example skateball when you score the cheers start but then don't finish. I have a galaxy note 4 running android 4.4. Also it's running my dsk files in foreign. Edit: how do you expect us to create these .opt files for the executable code when all games have different extentions as there executable for example .bin or .bas and why is the sorcery game foreign!! I would like a refund

Used to crash all the time but now works well. Difficult to control most games using touch screen, but perhaps this can't be helped. Some sound and music seems not 100% as it should be, and digitised/sampled sound does not work eg 180; championship jet ski simulator. Not a bad interface and I like how it can resume the previous game/memory state.

It's great to see my old amstrad games but I cannot get the games to play for more than a minute on my Samsung s4 before the app crashes. The games I want to play are batman, batman the movie and head over heels. Also batman the movie game requires a diagonal option on the controls for the rope. It is possible to press both buttons at the same time but it is a little fiddly. Could you fix the samsung s4 crash bug? The diagonal buttons can wait if it's a pain. Can't wait for future releases with fixes

I like being able to run all the programme I wrote as a kid back in 1985. My only wish would be for the mode 2 text to be fixed as there's something wrong with the scaling or something... Some of the programmes I wrote use mode 2. Excellent job anyway. Thank You.
