Don't Starve: Pocket Edition

It's my first time playing this sort of game and I love it! I still can't manage to survive longer than day 30 but i still can't stop playing. There is a lot explore. My only problem is that it is not multiplayer like the pc version so I can't play with my friends. Which would be so awesome!

Played this on the PC but never had time to really dive in deeper. Now that I can carry it with me there is no excuse. The day cycles are perfect timers for pick up and play. I was worried about scaling down to a 5.5 inch screen but the devs did a great job making the ui work. Will be a daily distraction for me.

The game as with all the others on pc and consol is amazing! Runs well and is fun to play. The offline ability makes this perfect for long car rides and train trips or on a plain. The issue I have is the crock pots, not easy to use, neither is planting anything, placing anything, transferring between inventories and also the issue with whenever I click on the joypad or another button it examines what is under it or an action alike making it rather frustrating. I love this but it does need some tweaks to make it take less time to plant a line of trees and bushes and not make me waste precious time when I'm trying not to starve!

Klei, this is a really great port of one of my favorite games. Without a doubt, it is the full game right on your phone. I rated graphics low, because the resolution is blurry. I would like to have the option to increase my graphics for the sake of seeing what my phone can handle. I have had a number of crashes, all at similar times: when digging up cobblestone in the wild. I don't know how that relates, but the UI freezes every time. The controls are janky, but surely the best they could be. Reign of Giants is definitely the way the game was meant to be played.

Absolutely fantastic game! I've had this game for four months and I've only just scratched the surface on whats in it. There is endless gameplay! Expertly crafted game with an excellent theme. Kudos to the developers for this. Well worth the money paid for it, and i hope they come out with shipwrecked DLC for the pocket edition.

???????????????????? Why did you make this game so great??? I am going to play this for many days and it will harm my education. This is the first game that I paid to download on playstore. And it was what I was looking for. THIS IS THE BEST SURVIVAL GAME THAT I HAVE EVER PLAYED. Thanks for creating this. I really love it ????????????

The only bad thing that made me upset is when I turned my phone off to save the battery and when I went to play the game after turning it back on all my progress was gone. Every character was locked again and my save file a were gone

Control options are clunky as hell and take away from the gameplay. Either the developers made some bad calls or this game should have never came to mobile. Runs semi-smooth on my galaxy S6 but on my android tablet it crashes on start up every time.. UPDATE: it force closed and somehow caused my wallpaper to reset to factory default... Nice

Got it on Steam when it first came out, even then I thought it should of been a mobile game from the start. I think it's a great port, and a lot better on my tablet. It just seems to fit better. People complaining about the controls is probably because they are playing it on a cellphone. I can understand why they might dislike the controls. On a tablet it's great.

Big fan of Don't Starve on the PC and of Klei in general. Sadly I can't rate this higher than 3 stars due to the awful inventory controls and unresponsive joypad. In a game that relies so heavily on inventory management and kiting of enemies, they have really dropped the ball with this one.

DESPERATELY needs to be optimized. the game play stays true to the original but the controls are anoying and hard to use with 15 fps, some graphics settings might help to turn down quality. other than that the game works fine, it just needs a little work.

I'm a don't starve FANATIC, so when I found out it was on phone I nearly FAINTED. There's just 1 thing that needs to be added. Me and my bro really wanna play don't starve together but we cat because it isn't on phone :( please add it!! Then I would rate 10 stars xD

Wonderful game, it's amazing, thank you for such a great product! I LOVED this game on PC, so I decided to buy it here. However, the controls are weird, and I keep facing difficulties while interacting with objects, like, planting birchnuts. But maybe it's just my phone. Anyway, 10/10!

I played it on PC and on my mobile. It is easier with a computer, but I don't mind having to rotate the map a bit to take something. Only problem is grabbing something from the inventory from the exact place where your moving controls are. I am waiting for Shipwrecked DLC.

Hi sorry for the bad review but the game freezes, and crashes 5 time allready. Highly anticipated this game. Using device Oneplus 3 on Oreo Android. Will change rating if able to resolve this issue

I wasn't able to try it since I can't get further than the opening screen (with the buttons play, options, languages and so on). It doesn't react to anything. EDIT: On my new phone (Xiaomi redmi s3) it works perfectly fine.

The mobile version is pretty good, but it still has some bugs like the joystick hard to control or the fertilize option. Which allows you to only fertilize 2 time and then you have to move again. But all in all it is still great and fun expierience.

I bought this game on a whim because I caught it on sale. Still, I thought I'd end up returning it. Nope! I'm having a blast. Now, I think it's worth the full asking price. I also thought the drawing style would get on my nerves; I was wrong again. I've already died half a dozen times, but I've learned something each time. I love using my brain to solve puzzles and, this is one long, tough puzzle. There is only one goal, don't starve, but there are a million ways to do so. I recommend the game.

Couldn't even play. The loading screen was all I could see. No music. I have watched it being played looks awesome. But can't play it because from the looks of the reviews from this device (something I should have looked at first) this has been a consistent problem y'all refuse to fix.

I didn't know this was a rogue like. Therefore it is impossible to do anything without dying every 5 minutes. Also, the controls are pre-warcraft 2. There is a joystick and action buttons instead of the game already having the context of what you are doing. If you click somewhere then it should go there. If you click something then it should interact.

The game is great and challenging! Although the visual art style is magnificent, it's a bit on the low resolution. It'd be awesome if you guys added an option where you can change the resolution and have it look sharper. And just to put the icing on the cake, multiplayer would send this game skyrocketing to #1! Honestly this is a really great game, runs very smoothly and is even better if you purchase one of those tiny little on-screen joysticks to use as a controller. The only reason I haven't rated it a 5* is because there is no support to move the ap to an SD card! What's up with that?

I love the game on PC and the app is not bad either. Although in the game i cannot see any bunnies (the rabbit holes are there but no bunnies) and i have some issues with the crock pot. Everytime i want to put in the last ingrediant, the inventory gets bigger and doesn't let me put in my food. This is the biggest issue. All in all as a veteran on this game i have to say that the app turned out pretty good.

This game is great! The native creatures are interesting and diverse, the art style is charming, there are many characters that make the game much different with each world, and there is always something more to do. The challenge level is nearly perfect, and boss monsters really make the game more exciting! The only thing I would recommend is making a guaranteed spawn of boss monsters each season. I am very glad that RoG is in the game, and I'm eagerly awaiting Shipwrecked!

One of the best games on pc. I have this now on the Samsung Chromebook Plus. The only thing it really needs is native keyboard and (bluetooth) mouse support. Other than that, this is one of those AAA games that Everyone Should have. Gameplay, Graphics, and Everything else is Top Notch-just please give us native keyboard/mouse support!

Like everything about this game a lot with 2 exceptions: - as some people have mentioned below, it could use a resolution upgrade, when it comes to the newer devices - Controls are a bit funky from time to time. I've also encountered this bug multiple times (and on multiple devices) where the UI suddenly becomes completely unresponsive and I have to force close the game, losing any unsaved progress in the process. Besides that: beautifully made survival action building game, just like the PC version. Lots of content, decent learn curve for beginners and experienced gamers.

I always wanted to play this game and I've all ways loved the concept and art. Sadly, I was to find out that it wouldn't load at all and would just crash. I'm really sorry that I rated it 2 stars, but please could you just consider making this game compatible to to my LG tablet please. I would immediatley rate this wonderful game the 5 stars that it truly deserves. If you can't please give me a refund but please just make it so that my favorite game is compatible to.my tablet.

Dear Klei, I love this game so much. I have the Don't Starve for the PC and PS, plus the DLCs, and now android. This version is great but there are a few things that could make the game more fluid. For example, instead of having a static joystick for movement, have an option so that where ever the player taps (in the general location of the left screen) the joystick will center itself to the taped location. When the player releases, the joystick disappears untill being tapped again. I feel like this may make movement feel less clunky when attempting to dodge or kite an enemy. -Yours, a huge fan of Klei and the Don't Starve Franchise

The game is don't starve, what did you expect, the art is dark, yet cartoony and charming, the controls are ok, but not as good as the PC version, but my main reason to love this game (and many others) is the fact that it is challenging, and unforgiving. Getting too comfortable? Hound Attack! Too much food, it will eventually spoil. Think you can survive all season? WINTER OR SUMMER, I LOVE IT!

One of my favourite games on any platform. I'm going to only state the cons here as to why I didn't give 5 stars. - Virtual controller cannot be moved or resized, often gets in the way when looking through inventory. - Inventory gets a little wonky when it's full and you pick up another item. - Inventory (again!) cannot be slided to browse (but crafting menu can) - Preset worlds, once saved, cannot be deleted. - No saddle item. With this being said.. This is still one of the best survival games out there. Highly recommend.

It's a great port to mobile and a really fun game. The graphics are nice and it gives a moody atmosphere which is a really nice touch to the game. However, the controls don't feel too great. It's easy to gather and harvest material, but placing items are terrible. Building a base is hard and it doesn't build in the correct place. It'll be nice if there can be a build mode where things can be easily place. Overall, the game is fun but placing objects needs some improvement.

It is a beautiful and quite engaging game. It has the right balance if excitement and success factor so I never find myself getting too frustrated. Also, bonus points for it simply being a work of art. It seems to have a glitch on the rotation feature at the moment, but I don't use that a lot anyway.

I love the don't starve saga, I've bought this game for console and pc, along with don't starve together. I'll give it 4 stars for a bug that happens oftentimes, where I can only touch the joystick to move and the rest stops working, except for the back button that can go to the pause menu. But in that menu I can't quit and save so I end up losing the progress since the last autosave. If you correct this, I'll give it 5 stars.

There are a few suggestions I have. One a colour blind mode would be nice! If you could have like yellow and blue, instead of red and green when placing objects that would help. My second recommend is when your placing an object down (trap, fence, etc) could you have a ghost image appear that is above the finger. Like if I grab tree wall, it will hover above my finger and a ghost image of that wall will snap to places where it can be laid? There also might be a bug with placing stone fire places, I built one and it did not appear and I lost the resources I used. Over all great game! I just hope to see it improve from here on out.

I purchased this on my last phone and had to get a refund because the sound was acting up. It overlapped and if I tapped something,it would make the noise associated with the tap but over and over, like 15 times. For every sound. I re-downloaded with my S8+ and the first time,the app worked great, but now it doesn't, and now I can't get a refund. I'd love to play the game and it seems great,but I won't play an incomplete game that I paid for.

This is an awesome game that I've been playing on PC for the longest time. Great port too; however the virtual stick is not responsive enough and this renders me unable to kite in combat. Also, what this game needs is bluetooth controller support. By no means this is a cheap game, so please consider making cont. support and fixing the controls. Thanks!

Features are faithful to the original version. Only gave it three stars because the touch controls can be annoying, making common repetitive tasks like eating or adding fuel to a fire feel tedious. Controls make you constantly perform unintended actions, like stop to chop a tree when trying to run for your life.

Touch controls are terrible. Doing basic farming like planting saplings and trees becomes extreme tedium. Crock pot slots conflict with inventory UI slots; often makes it hard to drag items. I'm not even gonna mention how boring it is to "convert" monster meat into eggs. Good luck with that.

I am loving this game! I bought this during a "black Friday" sale and am glad I did. I am SOOOO glad that this isn't one of those games were you have to wait for things to get built or complete a task before you can earn a level. This is straight survival. The game is challenging and fun to play. I wish there were some instructions, I've had to look up some info online to understand how to use certain items or do some things. I will definitely look for more from this developer!

Good, but please add more primitive weapons to the game, such as a club or a bow and arrow. Also, it would be cool if you could put ice in a fridge to slow food spoilage even more. The inventory system could use a few tweeks, but this game is amazing!!! Also shipwrecked and multiplayer might make you guys more money, but don't make it a seperate game, have it come with the game.
