Crosswords Plus

Like this app over other apps, but a few things I'd like to see. Really want a pencil options for answers I'm unsure of so I an easily go back. Want to be able to scroll clues that are long in portrait view. And lastly, make it easier to set folder to find downloaded puz files.

But hasn't been updated since 2014?! The puzzle menu appears a bit askew on my Galaxy Note 4. Puzzles still work great, but having my menu in the lower right corner of my screen aggrivates my OCD. :-/

Have used and love this app for years for NY Times and LA Times crosswords. Suddenly it wont work correctly for NY Times puzzles. The interface for reentering your password doesn't exist...you have to reinstall the app. Still won't download NY Times puzzles anymore...no matter what i do. There are no other good options for the galaxy note.

I have a NY Times subscription and it was working well and then stopped. ??? And I was never able to get the Washington Post. NEW POST.....I solved my problem getting the NY TIMES by reloading the app. But I still can't get the Washington Post Sunday puzzle. Please help and I'll raise my rating to 5 stars!

PLEASE FIX THE N.Y. TIMES ISSUE! Subscribers can't download NYT puzzles because of a new URL. Otherwise, this has been one of my all-time favorite apps for 3+ years.

Great app, but with no indication that the new NYT problem will be fixed, it plunges from 5 stars to 1. Small consolation: you can MANUALLY download .Puz files from the website and then solve with Crosswords Plus

I have used this app for years and it was best for NYTimes. Now can't download NYT puzzles and haven't been able to since 5/29. Would love to restore a 5 rating and will when problem is fixed.

It was 4-5 stars until about 2 weeks ago when it quit downloading the NYT crossword puzzle. As of now it is useless.

Edit 5/26/2017. NYT has changed the URL again. So annoying. Old review: Great UI, customizable, easy download of puzzles (including NYT... recent update fixed the problem with the new URLs), it's free, and a nice, responsive dev. I've tried many of the other Xword apps and this wins, in every way.

Just stopped working! I get 401 error when I try to download. I've been using this app for quite a while, and like it better than the nyt version. Please fix!!

Almost every day one or more crosswords are unavailable. Cannot recommend it.

Has a great UI, and works great. The only issue is that it won't open Washington post crossword. Other than that. I'll keep using this app.

Hands down the best crossword app on Android. Unfortunately a change in the NYT crossword URL has broken this. Hoping for a quick fix.

Can no longer download nyt crossword tho I am a subscriber. Error message appears. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling. App is not as useful without the nyt.

I use this app on my phone and Kindle every day to solve the New York Times crossword puzzle. It is intuitive to use and works better than any other crossword app I've tried. I really enjoy using Crosswords Plus.

Stopped working. It can't connect to the Times anymore.

Get an error 403? 408?

I wish it would highlight related clues, like the official NYT crossword app does. Is the code open source? If so, I'll implement it myself

This is, simply, a fine, five-star crossword app. I like the change-direction key; other apps use the spacebar and Enter keys, but it's easier (for me) to click a dedicated button. I've contacted the developers with questions/suggestions and rec'd a response the next day. Not the only crossword app I use (I admit it: I'm a xword junkie), but my default app. In sum, easy to use, good collection of puzzle links, and helpful devs.

Only reasons for not 5

So far this is my favorite crossword app, so I was sad that it started bugging. Menu won't open, and when I click "puzzles" on the home screen, it is not centered on my screen.

Excellent crossword app. Inbuilt downloads from good variety of sources. Easy to use interface. Highly recommended.... Just upgraded to an S7 Edge and unfortunately the hint menu is not available on this phone

Interface is superior in every single way to Shortyz except when downloading new puzzles. I still use Shortyz to get new puzzles. However even that download interface sucks. Would love the option to just download all puzzles in a specific date range instead of having to do so a day at a time

I loved this app on my Galaxy Tab 10.1, but I upgraded to the S2 with a smaller screen and it no longer works properly. I can't get the menu to appear so the app is basically worthless. If there's a setting to change I can't find it; I've sent several emails but they haven't been answered. This is very frustrating!

I've enjoyed this for years, but recently the puzzles are no longer working right. They don't show errors, or let me know when the puzzle is complete, and i can no longer access the settings.

I've tried out several crossword apps, and this one has the easiest to use interface of any. Combined with easy access to a variety of major puzzle sources, the 5 stars is well deserved.

App quit working with NY Times subscription dailt puzzles dated after 5/24/2014. Will download puzzles dated before then and the archives and did download Sun. 4/25/14. Suspect that NYTimes changed somethimg. Worked great up to now.

Please update your great app so new Galaxy owners have the same functionality. Thanks very much!

Can't download the puzzles from the Washington Post.

Have used this app on Kindle and now on my Galaxy S3 with KitKat. It requires a NYT puzzle subscription but then just works. You can also do free puzzle s from several sources. Sometimes when the Times gets very unconventional with their grid (e.g. 1/17/2016) not all the formatting is visible. On those days you can still use it but if have not looked at puzzle on the actual NYT site you will not know what you missed.

App itself deserves a 5/5. I've used it daily for years with few issues. I just updated my android phone though and it no longer works! Please update ASAP!

Allowed me to access my NY Times subscription and gives convenient options for free crosswords

I still love this app: it's the best crossword app, IMO. However, it looks like there is a problem with the links to the 6-week-delayed puzzles from the New York Times this week. Starting on Monday, 8/3/2015, the links point to the *Sunday* from 8/2. Both Monday and Tuesday behave this way. Thanks again!

NY Times puzzles sometimes freeze on me... I can't add or change letters. Any thoughts? I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling. I LOVE the app!!

So simple... great customization. Fantastic for nyt puzzles subscription! Please add answer "looping" (returning to start of answer when typing and there's a blank box earlier in the answer) to clues view. It loops around in grid view but not clue view! Also, i think auto download of nyt puzzle links may have broke recently. Thank you!

NY Times puzzles don't work and haven't for years. You can't even sign on to NYT puzzles with certain açcounts on this app. Such a shame because the other puzzles are awful

I've tried to download the puzzles but it keeps saying download failed error 404
