Absolutely one of the best games out there for your phone! The PC version is a great game too with more units, but the mobile version is a VERY well done version of the original PC game. The graphics are simple, surfice and functional, but the game has good depth and great command and control. The user interface is as good as it gets offering lots of commands in an efficient design that is easy to navigate (go into settings to get all the commands offered). After you get used to how the game is played I recommend small maps with a few AI players set to expert for more challenge. This game can be addicting and I highly recommend it for those who want a good strategy game that plays great on a phone. Highly recommend this well thought out game and its fantastic interface!

This game is so addicting it launched my computer career 26 years ago. This Android port so far seems flawless. It takes a bit to learn what the buttons do, but it truly is awesome! Get it!

"Sir?" The inquiring man was growing impatient. He failed to notice his advice was heeded. Did he not understand the importance of what I was doing? "Sir, I need you to come with me." I sighed dramatically and replied, "I have one more city to conquer then I'll come." Agitation growing the man said, "The building is in flames. Its about to collaspe!" I made a mental note to show this fire fighter the importance of Empire Deluxe. Just one more city than victory will be mine!!

Needs a few things, like a Google account for saving games. Some of the PC units arty, engineers etc. Plays well. Thanks to killerbeez for keeping this classic game alive.

I almost failed out of college because I spent so much time playing the pc version of this game back in the 90s. They left the game largely unchanged for the mobile version, except for the touchscreen functionality, which is excellent.

Great Game! I have been playing since Empire - Wargame of the Century (Interstel), through Empire Deluxe (White Wolf), Empire Deluxe (Internet Edition (PC version of this game with more players, head to head play, internet play, and ability to customize)), and now Empire Deluxe Mobile Edition. Game play is VERY similar to Interned Edition, but only 1 human player. Good implementation for touch screen. I have found larger maps slow down a lot, but on my mobile device, I tend to keep the maps smaller so the games don't take weeks to finish. Great for those short breaks at work or when I have a few minutes to kill - play a few turns of Empire! I much prefer the games where planning, strategy, and control are more valuable than speed and reaction time. Great work Mark! Thanks for extending this game into it's third decade of play and updating for the mobile platform!

I started playing Empire on a Vax mainframe in 1980. I still cant put the game down once i start playing on my phone. It is still as addicting for me as the first Empire version in 1980.

I'm betting multiplayer is coming, but other than that it's pretty much the same as I remember it (other than the touch interface of course).

The original DOS version back in 79 was written for multi player game play. I admit that I've loved the hours I've spent on this but multi humna player would be far better. any chances of an upgrade soon. Recently the game has started crashing after an hour or so of play. I know, save often. But still, the crashes are bothersome. d

I started playing Empire over 25 years ago in the late '80s with a PC port of Walter Bright's original "Empire, Wargame of the Century". When "Empire Deluxe" first came out I was ecstatic! It was far beyond any strategy game of its time. I was so glad when Mark Kinkead re-released it for PC around the turn of THIS century, since my old floppy disks (ask your parents what those were) would no longer install. Now I get to play it again on my tablet. Hooray! After playing other wargames on android, I can honestly say that this version of Empire surpasses many, and holds its own against the very best on this platform. This game is an abstraction, not a simulation, and be prepared for it to take hours to play even the smallest scenario. However, I'm quite confident that this release will bring a THIRD generation into the fold of Empire junkies. Enjoy!

Poor play, poor graphics, in other words it sucks

Played the desktop version since the early 90's. If it hangs during saving the game or at the start of your turn, it may be maxing the capacity of your device. A 400x400 map would barely run on my tablet and my smartphone was fine until I had about 100 units on the board. A 50x50 map runs fine on both.

This game is exactly like the old Empire game I used to play on the Amiga. That can be bad, but mostly its a lot of fun.

I used to play this game a lot years and years ago. It is very addictive. Glad to see it come out on Android. My only complaint is that the Control Panel was a little difficult to customize. Besides that, very, very well done. But, beware, if you liked it before this will continue the addiction. Money well spent.
