About Lost in Innsmouth

A horror gamebook strongly referring to the universe created by Howard Phillips Lovecraft. This novel takes us back to the sixties of the twentieth century and the reader takes on the role of Jordan Allan who, looking for his would-be son in law, finds himself in a certain port town. As it turns out, unnamed, blasphemous terror lurks in disquieting Innsmouth.

There is plenty of mistakes with grammar that to anyone would care is annoying, as well as sometimes the order of things happening only makes sense when you choose things in the correct order (duplicate pages etc.) It would be a great free app if there were ads you could pay a dollar to remove, that way you could decide you dont want it. But you're better off finding a collection of Lovecraft books for free as an app and reading those.

The more I play this game, the more problems I'm finding. For one, it's obviously written by a non-native English speaker or is badly translated from another language, which at times makes it difficult to understand what exactly the writer is trying to say. Furthermore, the narrative completely falls apart in some places: characters you haven't met before engage in conversations with you which assume you've already met, while in other places characters show up out of nowhere. For instance, if you escape from the townspeople who have you on trial and choose the boat as a way of fleeing them, all of a sudden the priest is on the boat with you. The game is thus far from being a finished product, needing several rounds of proofreading as well as some work on cleaning up some rather glaring narrative inconsistencies. Most free games I've played through Google Play don't have these issues, so even charging $0.99 is hard to justify.

So far I love the app in every detail. However I would like to suggest a minor improvement. It would be great if you could incorporate some kind of a dictionary into it- this would make it a perfect tool for learning English. For example it could work like in Kindle devices - you tap a word and a small popup with a definition appears. There are plenty of free dictionaries so it is feasible to my mind. If you did that I would recommend it to all my students learning the language. Hope you consider it!
