About FlightGearMap

* WARNING: READ CAREFULLY. THIS IS NOT A FULL GAME, IT IS AN INTERFACE FOR FLIGHTGEAR FLIGHT SIMULATOR. YOU WILL NEED A PC RUNNING FLIGHTGEAR TO USE THIS APPLICATION *

FlightGearMap for Android is a companion for FlightGear flight simulator: FlightGearMap shows the current position on your plane on a map, as well as some useful controls such as airspeed, RPM or altimeter. Set your tablet/mobile phone on top of your yoke and you won't need to change the view of your main screen any more. Or at least, not as often as you used to.

If you find FlightGearMaop useful, consider buying the donate version!

You can calibrate and configure some of the instruments using the touch screen: NAV1, NAV2, altimeter and switches. Warning: rotate your finger around the center of the instrument, not the knob!

FlightGearMap is still under development and deciding which features/instruments are the best options for the simplified panel. Some minor bugs and crashes are expected, but it should be pretty usable and stable. Please, report any ideas, bugs and comments to: http://www.flightgear.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=16136

Installation: (Check: http://wiki.flightgear.org/FlightGearMap )

Perfect app! If there are less delays and the map can spin......

If there were a how-to for the configuration of custom instruments I would rate it 6 of 5 points. Works very well but haven't figured out the configuration as yet.

I don't know why there its not working

K70%

I only wish it had more panels for other planes and the ability to zoom the map. These are small compared to a great companion app for flightgear!

Very useful map, easy to setup. Would be nice if it had an option to just use the UDP and not need telnet. Works fine even on small screen phones, probably better on a tablet.

by Z####:

Works nice on SGS i9000, but probably it is more useful on some larger tablet device - on 4" smartphone screen instruments are bit small, but map is very useful.

i love it. if i knew how to program more than basic matlab, i would help. i have a big request. could you turn it into a full glass cockpit type app? i.e. include the ability to change the radio/nav frequencies. like EFIS app for x-plane? thanks

I never comment on an app, unless it totally impresses me. Setup took me some time... Maybe because I'm using a Mac, but once it was functional; awesome!

...but this is definitely an excellent app! It can be improved (where is the donate button? :-) ) but for a first version, what a start! I'm setting up a multi pc environment, and using the tablet as an extra screen comes in handy. Well done, keep up the good work.

It worked for me. Well almost. I had it set incorrectly as tcp on my fg machine. Once I set it up correctly as 'udp' it showed me on the map and tracked my speed, altitude, etc just fine. I cant wait to see how this app matures, it seems like it would get nice support. Sets up in 60 seconds max, even if you mess up. Maybe jet support? Id like to be able to prgm something like this. Any pointers?

Works very well in flightgear for windows. Don't even need to mess about with command prompt. Can be easily set up with the flightgear launcher GUI.

Probably my tablet, so I am still giving it a good rating.
