Pixel Soldiers: Waterloo for Android
I have always loved old army battles and waterloo is one of them so being able to control an army of that era is a fantastic thing! Plus, the simple graphics just make it far more interesting than your standard game graphics so that's good. I do have a couple of ideas if you plan to make more games like this. How about a Lord of the rings trilogy or an alien invasion scenario? That would be great!
Being a fan of musket era strategy games and SWOS, you've created the game that I have been looking for. The simplicity of the design coupled with strategical gameplay is a perfect combination for a fun game. I would love to see an American Revolutionary War based game in this series sometime in the future.
Really enjoyed the game, well thought out in the simple game play yet interesting tactical challenges. Could an 'advanced' option be added where reinforcements could come early or be delayed, adding a little randomness to increase the ability to replay the game?
Good game, reminds me of the classic 'fields of glory' I used to play on the old amiga....would love it if you made another napoleonic one, maybe the Russian campaign. Or better still a first world war one. Would love a crack at the somme.
Really gets the brain going. Chases boredom right out the door. And I find the graphics very nostalgic. Thank you for this game!
I've purchased all three of jolly pixels games and am happy not just with the game play, but also with support and the developers attitude..not just about cash coming in. Last blog stated WWI possible release in December..saving my pennies. Thanks for another blockbuster game...yea.blockbuster I say.
Liking it so far but I can't crack the Hougoumont scenario playing as the British. Edit Upgrading to 5* - thanks for the advice - it was a hard fight but I did it. ;)
Only niggle is the lack of a save system or something. Was doing really well on the British campaign on the 4th mission, the actual battle of Waterloo. The final charge of the Elite Old Guard destroyed about 2 hours of work. I'd been so careful to keep behind the German Legion units, highlanders and Rifles until I absolutely needed them. (I knew what was coming before it came) In the end it didnt matter. My cavalry was crushed by their artillery and they pushed. Ended right there.
Great game. Simple to play but with strategic depth. Takes me back to the early days of computer wargaming. Happy memories!
No difficulty level choice like the other two. Again too easy. Good engine and game otherwise.
Cool and super fun just like Fields of Glory okay graphics could be better. Would like a little more details. But this all about game play old School
Best war game APP ever! Only competition is Gettysburg and Antietam. Both made by this company. Get it, play it. 10/5
Great game. Would love to play a War of the roses era type game with archers etc.
Perfect game. You should definitely make a pixels soldiers game based on ww1.
Keep them coming -- I'd like to see an Ancient variant.
Great beer and pretzels wargame that should appeal to any grognard with an android device. Support is excellent.
Thanks to the developer for updating the sound options
I really like old era army games!!!!!!!!!
Nice job
Are you doing any more games? Absolutely love playing this and bull run.
Wow. I can't believe how this game isn't that popular! You guys should really add a skirmish mode. Decide what country, what map, and starting soilders. You guys should add like a shop and you get like money and you can buy soilders, like canons and horsemen. This game is worth 1.80c
Had some difficulty getting it to start at first but seems to work fine now. A rather nice, simple, yet engaging strategy game. Would be nice if there were in game unit descriptions and info in the tutorial to get a better idea of their strengths and weaknesses in combat.
Can you please make more games like this they're amazing
Perfect game. You should definitely make a pixels soldiers game based on ww1.
Best mobile game I ever played
Fun game, ai isn't amazing, but scenarios bring own inherent difficulties.
Amazing and totally worth every penny. It would be cool if they added new features like a skirmish mode or scenario builder where you can make a map or even add online multiplayer. The best part is there's no micro transactions. Love the graphics and was exactly what I was looking for. I am waiting patiently for new updates
I have to say Pixel Soldiers is one of my favorite apps, though a skirmish mode would make it so much better and make it replayable. Also, more countries and specific cavalry and artillery types. Like maybe you could do a horse-drawn artillery and dragoons, cuirassiers, that sort of thing. Plus, other wars would be nice too like the American revolution, American civil war, 100 years war, 30 years war and so on. Pretty much anything pre-world war 1 I think would be great! Looking forward to future updates!
Absolutely great game, horribly addictive, I love it. If your looking for update ideas, maybe consider formations for infantry with bonuses. I.e. combat vs cavalry better if in square. Just a thought
The graphics add to the charm of this game. It feels almost like playing a miniature wargame. There are many period popular songs that are well done and add to the feel.
Are you doing any more games? Absolutely love playing this and bull run.
This is the best phone game series ever!! Update ideas skirmish mode
I'll try and send an email w some more in depth thoughts later I think, but suffice that in its current configuration, this game is simple yet challenging. It's cute and fun, with a very good amount of content for 2$,keep up the wonderful work!
Needs multiplayer.
Love the art style, easy to understand controls, and interesting timeline. But I would like to see maybe dead bodies or decimated areas where fighting took place.
I like the game a lot, but I found it fairly easy to beat, and there are only a handful of battles so there is not much replay value. Having said all that its a super fun game.
We like Pixel Soldiers but it needs rebalancing. The core mechanics are easy to understand and fun, although there are some head-scratching moments. (Our cavalry gets torn apart when engaging artillery in melee? Even when that's supposed to be our unit's strength and their unit's weakness?) The main drawback is a lack of balance. In the Waterloo battle, the French will bring in the Imperial Guard as reinforcements. All you can do is pray that the enemy AI will go haywire and send half of them off in the wrong direction (this occasionally happens - but bad AI with overpowerful units is not the same as game balance) because any sort of concentrated assault will sweep you from the field with little ado. Say goodbye to 1-2 hours of work getting that far and say hello to ragequit. We'll be withholding our extra stars until the game isn't an exercise in wasted time and frustration. Edit: Upon further consideration, we believe our concern is less with balance than with a lack of a way to rewind play to an earlier point. Even saving the game every five turns would help avoid a situation where hours are lost due to an unfortunate sequence of events at a critical juncture.
This games is very enjoyable. There is good balance between you and the ai. It would be cool to see different time periods shown in this game (revolutionary war, civil war, WWI, WWII, naval and air battles would be cool also). All in all really do love this game.
Would be amazing if there were more levels. Also, to save programming time and create more dynamics, what about simply commanding the opposite forces?
