John GBA - GBA emulator

Why can I not use cheats? I'm all for honest gameplay, but there is no trading function for the Pokémon games and using cheats is the only option I have to completing the Pokédex. Can you fix the cheat engine or provide a format of cheatcode that actually works? Or better yet, implement trading functions. Overall a brilliant emulator, very crisp and clean and I favour the performance of JohnGBA as superior to other emulators like it, my only issue is with the inability to trade or apply cheats.

It is works well with GBA roms but it seems to have issues with the cheat engine functions. Also tried loading gbc roms on it and it doesn't detect them or let me play them. I would rate it 5 stars but after seeing it is only for gba games... Kind of a disappointing purchase. I rather not have to buy the gbc emulator just to play gbc games. So... 1 star it is.

Excelent emulator, but it is difficult to see what game is highlighted when navigating the menu with a controller. Ther is also a little bit of input lag, nothing major but may be noticeable for some people. Something really dumb that I would personally like to be added is google cardboard support. It's dumb but I would like it.

Omigosh it can play Ham-Ham Heartbreak! MyBoy cnnot, not even with a BIOS dump in place. Good job, John! Have your couple of quid, you've earned it!

I love this emulator. But the audio in some games gets very bad with pops and crackles. It's becoming very stagnating, and hope its fixed. Please.

It permanently sped up on me, I don't know why, but every game I play acts as if I've sped it up despite not touching the speed settings. Uninstalling and reinstalling the app didn't work.

I have literally one problem with this app, and that's the quick load button being right next to the safe button. It's way too easy to accidently press and there's no prompt to confirm it, it just instantly loads from where you saved last. I've wasted LUDICROUS amounts of time doing this. Other than that great app.

Awesome app, completely love it and totally worth the pay. However I would love to see the development of being able to connect a device with a friend's for Ex. Pokémon battles (Fire Red upstairs PokéCenter) and trades

I love everything about this emulator, however there is one thing that either cannot be done or rather I simply cannot figure out. Im trying to trade pokemon via the emerald version of pokemon and I have searched google and wiki and cannot find anything besides using myboy and the local setting but the thing is my saves are on john gba and not on myboy, I already boutht johngba and i dont really like myboy app anyways. So i would suggest a local trade function for other users like me.

I can't change the easy setting to high quality. When i try to change, it always shows me 'power saving' mode. Please fix it. I buy this app and hope you give me answer and respond for my comment.

These updates are making it better and better! Keep it up Update (reviewed originally 14/5/15); Many devices and years later it gets better and better.

Great gab emulator, a little hard to use the on screen controls but I've never had a problem with it. Well worth the price

Ok so I played fire red on john for months... Its fine until you try to trade with other people or even yourself... You can not trade on john GBA, that is bull, trading with friends is literally half the game!

It would be nice to add a Link Cable function while both players are connected to the sane internet source. just saying.

Was not able to use cheats that work on other emulators. Big let down for me personally

Love this GBA Emulator, plain and simple to use. Hopefully you'll add shaders on the next update to make games look a lot better on bigger screen.

i love it, im able to play my childhood pokemon games, the only thing id like to as is if there would be a way to be able to trade between for example pokemon fire red and leaf green, and if there already is i missed that in the instructions XD

Why does the emulator take me back to start screen every time I go into a grass on Pokemon.I want my refund

Every time I play Pokemon emerald it delete my saved game no matter how much I save it can you please fixe it or Tell me what to do

This is a great emulator, wpuld be great if john came out with a Sega genisis emulator too.
