About Mystery Theater 5Min Mysteries

An exciting return to the radio drama of yesteryear!

This app contains Forty-Eight (48!) episodes of the classic “The Five Mysteries Program” which aired on the Mutual Broadcasting System from August 10, 1947 to March 27, 1950. Cast members included Jackson Beck, Staats Cotsworth, Michael Fitzmaurice, Timmy Hyler, Abby Lewis, Frank Lovejoy and Ian MacAllister. The famous Rosa Rio played the memorable organ music on every episode.

Each episode presents a story. A story of greed, jealousy, desperation, theft, larceny, and even... murder! All of the clues needed to solve the crime are given to the audience, leaving only one question to ponder: whodunit?

This app not only catalogs the episodes of this amazing series, shows you which shows you have listened to, but it also lets you play along. At the crucial moment, it will ask YOU to provide the vital information needed to solve the crime; then wait in suspense to see if you are correct. If you solve the cases you will earn points, and eventually get promoted.

Listen alone, or with others, it is literally fun for the whole family!

These are fun and entertaining. However the titles don't match the stories several times. When you try to guess the ending the choices may be for a different store entirely. One story started then stopped,I could never find it again.

One of the few apps you can play with friends. Like a family in the 40s, huddled round the radio.

R70%
by R####:

...who doesn't check his work. Solutions and stories don't match for several stories. On top of that, several mysteries have spelling/grammar errors; ironically, the errors appear in at least one story in which the solution hinges on grammar. Go figure. Very frustrating because the stories are fun.

Exactly what they said it would be. A really old radio show even with those organs playing. Sweet! Some mysteries aren't too easy either.

Y70%

Miniature morsels of massively mysterious amusement.
