Where Shadows Slumber Demo for Android
Okay mind blown. That was soo cool. I would love to see more. The way the game is made is really smart and the music makes me think that if I don't hurry up something will come to me. Maybe at the full game we will see the story of that little guy and where he was going. I was so happy that it is for free, because I'm 13 and I think I can call myself a gamer, but my parents won't pay for a game that is on my phone. I can't wait for the full game.
I'd definitely pay for a full version! I hope one will come soon! It's tough to find good (and beautiful) puzzle-type games that don't have a time limit or require running or constant jumping of some sort. Those things make a game stressful to me. This is clever and relaxing.
I don't get some reviewers here. Some say the game is not logical or random which isn't true: magic always happen in the shadows. Some say there are no puzzles while there clearly are. The demo is pretty short (5 minutes for me) but shows a nice concept. Oh and it is absolutely not similar to Monument Valley.
Clever unique puzzle game where you unlock parts of a level which changes around you as you walk different paths. Fantastic varied game mechanics, but only 6 levels in this demo. I would pay money for a full game of this with harder puzzles. People compare to Monument Valley apparently, this is miles better than that game. MV was obvious puzzles with too much polished look. This is good puzzles with a more simple look. Gameplay over graphics every time!
Really love the idea. It was inspired by Monument Valley, and it really has that type of feel. At first I felt pretty skeptical about it being challenging, but the last level of the demo (level 7 I think) really showed me how challenges can be incorporated into this concept. I'm excited for the full version :)
This title clearly wants to be the next monument valley but it's no where near the same caliber as its source of inspiration. you see the depth of the game play by the 5th level and the game just become repetitive after that.
Some are calling this a monument valley wannabe. It's not. It may have that low poly look, but the resemblance ends there. This game uses a very clever game mechanic. The final level with the shadow maze shows this off so well. Can't wait for the full release! Great game.
It's very entertaining. And straightforward. Can't wait for the full version!!! The only drawback could be finicky controls... Or maybe it's just my fat finger syndrome. If there could be a way to adjust sensitivity or maybe have a partial zoom or something that would prevent me from constantly and accidentally doubling back, it would be awesome!
I really like the idea behind all this. I wish the demo was longer because I liked it but well, it's a demo after all. U wonder if taking too much time would make a monster appear (ala Another World)? Because the sounds are really creepy sometimes! The only drawback is the performance : the framerate is extremely low sometimes, and I don't have a low-end phone so I don't think it is the problem. I hope it gets fixed soon and I'll consider buying the full version !
Interesting concept and execution! Didn't quite get it straight away, but it is rewarding when you finally get it. Feels a bit awkward when you don't know what an object can become after that shadow reveals it, but interesting. BTW, the buttons on your website are not properly linked :) Great game though, can't wait to see the full version!
Clearly a lot of love has gone into developing this game. The core puzzle mechanic is unique, although occasionally confusing since the learning curve in this demo is very steep. But hey, it's a demo! I look forward to the full game :)
Not physically logical puzzles, but solvable at the same time. I found myself, mouth agape, following my intuition to finish the 7 levels. Good concept, keep going guys. Waiting for more.
Can't wait for the full version! This would be worth paying a couple of bucks for as long as it's longer than the demo. Haha! But seriously, wonderful game play, graphics, and concept! This will be a hit in the puzzle world :-)
This is an amazing game so far...I just hope they don't go over board with the "challenging" aspect of the whole thing. Good job devs...quality game thus far
Great and unique concept. Really in awe :) If you step up the quality and maybe add a story to it (I know it's more difficult than it sounds...But I'm not criticizing, just suggesting), I'm ready to buy the game :)
Only thing I don't understand is the Pegi 18 rating, I see no reason why kids shouldn't be aloud to play it, maybe the final version will have adult content?
I hope there will be a story other than just the levels tell and seems there will by the site, a mysterious one so far. The levels are absolutely inspired and innovative, using shadows to uncover and reveal things is such a cool mechanic, will be buying this game as soon as it comes out. Just to clear up, this is nothing like monument valley as that has a completely different mechanic of turning perspective as this uses light and dark puzzles to reveal paths to the exit. Really excited for more!
Excellent. Reminiscent of Monument Valley true, but with its own unique mechanics. The more challenging levels were the most enjoyable - the easier ones felt more like a (very good) technical demo. Would definitely pay for a longer version - particularly if it was as challenging as the tougher levels (i.e. labyrinth.)
I didn't know what the twist is until I noticed something weird with the shadows. Please make it more challenging. It's pretty easy tho.
I suspect the puzzles will get progressively harder in the full game when and if it is released. Graphics are different, but suit the game. The sound effect are also really good. Simple control of character which makes this demo really enjoyable.
This is one demo that I actually enjoyed, despite it just being a proof of concept. It works well, and while the puzzles where easy, it just had an enjoyable atmosphere. Still, the PEGI 18 rating? Why is that there? I didn't see any violence.
The controls are a little wonky, but workable, and I just love the concept of the game, light can change the way we look at things
Great game! Pay no attention to negative comments. This game is fun and I can't wait for more!
Would pay for more levels! Nice mechanic, with secrets lurking in the dark and controlling the shadows cast being the way to progress!
A nice, graphically pleasing world with an interesting mechanic but after our short seven levels, our time is over. Put a commercial on the front end, guys! Put a PayPal at the end, gentlemen! Let them help you while the public would like more, then later give it to them.
I just want more! Everything about it drew me in. The sound, the concept, the setting all just drew me in. Sitting in a fully lit room and it was a little eerie. Way to go!
Now it needs a story and a bit more difficulty. Can't wait for the full monty!
I liked it alot the puzzles were great, it remins me of monument valley but with diffrebt features and mood. You should definitely finish this.
This game is great! Fun, challenging, and pretty. Cant waot for more! Used this as a conversation starter at my local gaming bar and was the cool cat in town.
Well, kind of, since this game and Monument Valley both plays with the player's perception. It's awesome, actually. I don't know if it's a full game now, but I hope it is, and I want to know the story why the character is there and such. Great work developers! :D
If you like Monument Valley it's highly likely you'll like this too. Can't wait for the final game to come out!
I felt sad for the devs when, before playing, I read some harsh criticism comparing the game to Monument Valley, and failing in that area. I was indeed confident that there would be interesting mechanics that would make it a real, strategically involving, game, and therefore nothing like Monument Valley that provided a great experience but poor gameplay. Alas this one is even poorer than Monument Valley's; where there's little challenge, but at least logic, involved in the latter, in the former it's actual random moving around to cast shadows and pass through the preset invisible triggers, until some switch or bridge appear. Brainless moving without any way to know if it's the right shadow casting, breaks even what the devs are trying to develop with the universe.
Really looking forward to the full release. It would be nice if there is some sort of backstory too, like how this world came to be.
This game is probably something I would fund. Great concept, fitting sounds, and impressive artwork. However, I think the glowing objects should be included either more or less often, depending on how the game develops. I hope this game is completed.
Loved it and enjoyed it. But I'm unhappy it has only 7 levels. So I'm eager about the full game.
The shadows changing the levels was cool but I blitzed through the levels with ease. I hope the release has a fair number of levels for the price.
More, please. This is my favourite type of game. No killing, no shooting, no fighting, beautiful to look at and just takes brain work.
Wasn't very interesting once I got to the end.
Seriously they call this a puzzle game! It took me more time to install it than finishing it

The mechanics are okay and the game is an interesting idea which I'd like to see a full version of. I was struggling with low fps though (sometimes around 20fps) due to high GPU load. I guess the real time shadow calculation is hitting hard on my Adreno 330. This definitely needs some optimisation. Other than that I am looking forward to a full release.
