Survive! Japanese Lite for Android
I remember fallling in love with it a couple of years ago, and I couldn't help but come back to it once more to share it with my friends.
The buy option is disabled so im stuck at the train station with only the book. Any reason for this!?
Definitely worth playing. Fun & engaging. Watch out for Bob & pay attention to descriptions. Good luck!
I think... im gonna like this
Game is confusing
I've gone through many different ways of learning Japanese, and I've learned, not mastered, Hiragana, as well as a few words and phrases. This game, though visually unimpressive, is a great way to practice what you think you know and learn more. It's never too easy for long because it adjusts based on how well or bad you're doing.
This is surprisingly fun and addicting. I would recommend being a little familiar with hiragana and katakana before you begin though, since the app assumes you have already begun learning them. Have fun!
Make sure to have a basic understanding of hiragana & kanji before use. This app is great for training Japanese beginners! I've learned hiragana from this weird little game lol. It is definitely weird but it WORKS
I think this is a great games for beginners, like me, who've mastered the kana and are just dipping their toes into kanji and learning more phrases. There's a few bugs in the mini games that skew the scores at times, but other than that, I love it! The devs of this game definitely have a new paying customer with me!
I've been trying to learn Japanese for a couple weeks, and have tried a few apps. I've been looking for a gamified learning experience. Just found this app and it's awesome! I'm most impressed by the writing. It reads like a novel--and not just any novel, but a good one. Good voice and clear prose. Points for humor. Is the writer also a mystery or thriller author, by chance? Okay, so the reason this is four stars instead of five is: visuals. The user interface could be simpler. Some of the buttons feel small to press, even on my ~10 in. tablet. More than that, though, a map would help. I don't know if remembering what arrow keys to press to get where is supposed to be part of the challenge, but I would prefer to have a map to at least help me recall what is where. For potential future renditions of the game, I would look at modernizing the interface with more pictures. You might want to have a look at some of the popular otome games out there just to see how they do it, because they are primarily static images and text. So for this game, you could have an illustration of the characters you meet / the setting, with the text overlayed in the bottom front.
I have been trying to learn to read Japanese about a year now, and this is the first program that has been able to keep my interest (thanks ADD). Lots of fun, well worth the $3.

Pretty fun and gives u a sense of culture as well as teaching actions and greetings, that's what I got up to at least
Good thing u have going here
I've been looking for an app that would allow me to test and strengthen my Japanese in a fun way. In this app, you have to use what you know to progress in a kind of mystery game. I'm surprised that there aren't more apps like this. I found this preview to be pretty unique and helpful but I'm not convinced enough to buy the full version yet. I'm just not sure that it is something that I would use as frequently as I wish I would. Lol
The story claims that women who have tattoos are ugly. Wtf? Whoever wrote this story is ugly inside and out. Uninstalled.

the app has improved the screen works and i can read better Japanese. my Japanese teacher was very suprised on how i improved.

When I made it to the flight attendent I couldnt even talk to him! What help!
I totally dig the concept. I'm familiar with a small handful of kana so I moved up in level but it started to get sort of confusing... I cannot wait til a full version comes out to see what else the app can do. (Or is that the paid version...?)
Loved it can't wait for a longer version its a lot of fun and easy way to learn
The developers should get an award. Brilliant!
Great idea, when the reboot comes I will be getting it
Needs an option to put your name. Hah! And I hope to see more interesting facts about Nihon =p
This game is so interesting and fun. Its so mysterious :)
I like the way things are gradually introduced. It's really fun.
Keep it up
I have been trying to teach myself Japanese for years, but I just couldn't remember the characters well. I really like this game because it teaches almost immersion style while being incredibly fun! I am retaining the knowledge better than ever before. I highly recommend this as an accompaniment to the traditional language study. However, the game could be used alone to for some basic phrases.
I love it its very easy to learn for and wish I could get the full version
Fun concept, the interface is horrible, and there is no button for me to get off the plane.
This game is helpful to anyone who is teaching theirself the basics of japanese
Great app....but how do you tell if Bob is the guy in the peanut shop?
If I could, I would but I can't go any lower than one star. This f@$king blows. It keeps force closing every time at thebegining and I cant do anythin
Love it
It looks great but as this is only lite. Its barely an experience.

This light version/demo plays like an old school text based puzzle game centered around using hiragana and katakana properly with conversation and vocabulary too. It kept me interested so I think I'll try out the full version.
