Survive! Japanese for Android
While at first glance the app logo is not particularly appealing, this app takes you through a great story that forces you to learn as you play. It teaches you practical words while still being entertaining. Also P.S to anyone who thinks buying action disabled is a bug, it's just cause you have no money yet.
Gave up stones in one task and were giving no task after. No one to speak to. Cant get on the train or buy anything. Rip off. Do not pay for it.
I played the free version and got hooked! This game is fun, addictive, and a great way to learn conversational Japanese. I am so beyond pleased with this purchase!
I love this app, combine it with some studying and you'll be speaking and reading Japanese in no time!
In a nutshell, it's hard, it's fun, it's hilarious, it's cheap, and it teaches you. Honestly, it forces you to learn, but in a motivating kind of way. I never thought I'd be learning Kanji so early! Puzzles are really difficult, though. Here's a hint for the color puzzle; 青+黄色=green. That shouldn't give anything away you haven't learned yet. :3
This game seems determined to fail at every opportunity. It's not intuitive at all. I've had to Google a few times to get past something completely silly. On top of that, the number of times I've had to restart due to bugs, updates, and once because I accidentally clicked 'Start Game' instead of 'Continue' and it erased/overwrote my save with a new game with not even a confirmation window. What really annoys me, is that I'm sure I haven't even experienced the meat of the game that has been hinted at.

The older version certainly made it easier to learn especially with the notebook. With the vocabulary it helped make this game a great reference as well as an epic adventure for a real beginner. The layout was user friendly and the kana chart was available along side the vocabulary. This app was amazing as was. You had it right the first time.

If this game was actively being worked on it could be amazing, until then, it's a demo at best. Not worth paying for.

Swipe the text that says backpack with finger to get other choices such as the contents in the pouch.
Love it but would like the game to be completed instead of having so many actions disabled.
Like the puzzles n drillings that really makes me read Japanese characters quickly. But why no chapter 2 for newer hp models yet since it's already launched? Got the black stone n nothing else we can do? Pls update soon, I'll rate 5 stars!!
The older version gave you more. Made it easier to learn. The notebook had the words and colors in it it was so you could really know what you were looking at. Not only that, but when you began they showed you the spelling and the romanji spelling as well after showing you a bit they took away the romanji and just left the hiragana eventually that would go to. But it was built better for real beginners. Sad update.
The app is fast. The teaching method is great and surprise you! It is a must have. Developpers: you're awesome!
All you can do is enter and leave...
It is a great game for me to use on top of the Japanese I already study. However, it's hard to figure out what to do in this game. I just got the black stone and now there's nothing I can do. The stupid ramen lady won't take my stones, can't do anything about the peanut shop mystery, and you can't do anything inside the family mart. I've tried everything. Fix your game please.
Unfortunately do to bugs or incompletion, I am unable to give the ramen lady my stones. Which is as far as the demo let's you go. So there was no point in buying the 'complete' version. Has lots of promise but there are too many problems with it.
Unable to progress due to ramen bug. Mailed developer with no answer. Lack of updates is really a shame as well.. shame because other than thwt i really enjoyed it!
Well I love this game to death and so I actually took time to look at the source code to see how I can get pass the parts I am stuck at. It turns out the game seems to be unfinished. Like the buy and approach action is disabled because they haven't program anything for it. It really is sad because it seems like they had so much planned out for the game...
The hiragana and katakana memorization games are fun and helpful but on three seperate deviced i cannot get the ramen shop lady quest turned in. I have the stones but cannot do anything with them.
So much fun
fantastic!

This is a good complement to a more serious app, such as Human Japanese. I can't believe I'm actually learning kanji from this game. Also building vocabulary. Feel free to connect on G+ if you want to swap tips. I got all the stones, including the black stone. Still cannot enter bookstore employee door or approach the Family Mart crater. Update: Now that I went back to Human Japanese, I realize I wasn't learning some words correctly. E.g., mijikai applies to duration and not height.

I really, really like this. I learned a lot already and it's a fun way of learning. I'm using a tablet and I'm also stuck on the colored stones puzzle. I suspect the color kanji there are supposed to give clues, but they don't seem to be positioned in the right place. Does someone with a small screen have a screenshot or something?
I really want to like this app as the mechanics are well done. However, the app is supremely buggy. Tons of force closes, esp at the numbers game.
Fun game
I love this app however very confused about what to do with the two colors in the puzzle...need help
Love the game and learning pocess. Should have a save option tho, i change phones a lot and always have to restart... instruc. 4 puzzles will b nice
I suggest a hint guide to figure out where exactly u need to be and what to do... how do you determine if the guy in the peanut shop is bobs body!
I can't figure out how the color stones are supposed to go. Please help!
Force closes consistently despite the free version working all the way thru the same point.not pleased to have paid for non-working version
The stones are arranged to make colors. So like red and white make pink etc.
Bug fixed, but all progress got deleted. Oh well, its a good reminder! Great game! ^_^
So far I've learned to recognize hiragana, and the developer has been super helpful and fast to respond! Six stars!

After being exposed to this game on my last phone to casually learn my kana while idling on the subway, surprisingly it gave me the tools to not only learn my kana but it forces the kanji on you. Fantastic, replaying it--I'm stuck in the same places as the last time and can't recall how to proceed. Requesting somebody that's successfully finished the game to write a walkthrough.I can't find anything on any corner of the internet.ありがとう助けて!
