Delver for Android
A brightness control would be nice... And maybe an option for turn-based play for those who might like it better. There's also a bug (or something) which prevents you from picking up loot dropped in a doorway - it always thinks you want to open/close the door. Overall an excellent game, very fluid.
This game is by far the greatest game on mobile devices. I don't care if you've never played a dungeon crawler, or a first person game, this is amazing. It puts the difficulty of dark souls, the beauty of 8 bit original game graphics, and the classic architecture of a dungeon crawler, this is the ace in the hole
The attack and interact button are tiny. They are also in the bottom right corner of the screen, making them very hard to press. This is a terrible flaw in the game design and makes the game near unenjoyable. Please give users the ability to adjust button size and location.
The analog sticks on my controller arent mapped right. This is the only game that gives me problems. It's the only thing holding me back from playing. I know I'm not the only person who feels this way. Using Moga Pro HID
So as the title says I have a Moga Pro gaming controller for my phone :-) I love this thing man!!! It works great, when the game is compatible with the controller. Your game, unfortunately, is NOT compatible with the Moga pro controller. Please please please please today your game so we can use a
Dev came back to update us! Probably around the same time as the steam release... And he did great. Raising rating to 5 stars. If I remember right, the devs name is Chad... Nice work buddy. Cheers. Also, controls can be a little tricky... Is mouse acceleration on? Hard to get these right on a touchscreen for fps I know so can't knock ya.
This is a great game, and I've caught myself pulling the old, "Just one more run..." loop as I keep playing it for hours. My only complaint is that the game lacks MOGA support, or any controller support in general. I was able to use a third party app to remap the inputs of my controller to act as a keyboard would input, because the game does support keyboard input for some reason, and it worked perfectly except for attack would not work no matter what button it was bound to.
This is a very good game. I thought it was just a spin off of Minecraft or something. I meant to delete, but I'm glad I didn't. The music is AMAZING, but it turns of after you level up or something. Please fix this. Also, the menu could use more fixing. The gold counter is plain white and kinda hard to see, and also the few things above and beside it. The icon is kinda generic and SHOULD be the title screen at least, or similar to it. The pause menu isn't to good either. BUT THE GAME ITSELF IS REALLY GOOD!
This game has such a smooth engine I can't help but hope the devs will use it to create an RPG in the future. In the mean time what we have here is a fantastic rogue like that evokes some nostalgia in me.. Feels a bit like playing Ultima Underworld, and a bit like and elder scrolls game, with the mechanics of a rogue... It is also frustratingly difficult until you get the hang of it.. So many deaths taught me so many lessons! Hope to see more mob variety in future patches. Great so far.
Great game very fun. Cant wait to see where the game goes. I would suggest putting the toolbelt on the bottom of the screen. Hard to fight and switch weapons. And something like a flame arrow to light up corridors down the way. Or change the brightness of the game. would like to be able to play the game somewhere other than a cave or in the corner of a dark room. I have several other ideas but its not my baby. Excited to see where Delver goes. Oh and when you level up it is forcing me to look up until imove
I already find this game fun and it has the potential to be so much better. One thing I'd like to see added to a later update are secret rooms like in the old wolfenstein for pc. Rooms that aren't marked and hold special items. Also I found one bug. If you try and pick up a golden potion manually with out using the action button you'll have infinite potions.
Maybe its that I'm used to "Pixel Dungeon" but I found the game too easy. I beat it on my first run and died on floor 2 my second try.. after I got the orb and was on my way to the exit. My death was a result of trying to use the wands and scrolls to see what they did. There's really no use for items, all you need is food and potions. When you level up, just dump it into health (or defense if you want to add a little variety to your stats.) 4 stars because it was fun but it needs to be improved.
Love playing this game on my train ride. Very simple to pick up and play. Great job on this game. Keep up the good work. Just added a star because the developer did ad a excellent update. Best game the play store has to offer. Dont miss out on this unique gem. Update: its on sale on Steam for PC. Also the graphics have gotten an overhaul. I was surprised not to see it upgraded for Droid.
This game is fantastic. One of the best rouge like games I have played. great atmosfere and music too. I have this on PC as well and wanted it for my tablet but no moga or HID controller support. The touch controls get me killed way Way sooner than on my PC quests.. Oh please give us HID.. New Android consoles are gonna need it anyway :)
A brightness control would be nice... And maybe an option for turn-based play for those who might like it better. There's also a bug (or something) which prevents you from picking up loot dropped in a doorway - it always thinks you want to open/close the door. Overall an excellent game, very fluid.
The PC version is definitely the cleaner and more immersive version of this Dungeon Crawler. The sensitivity of the screen is a bit too much for me to get used to, however I rarely play apps on my phone anyway. The graphics of the game are good, but I find that some of the sounds found on the PC version are not evident in the app. Furthermore, combat is sometimes very rough, and some hits do not land. Overall great game, much better than most apps. Get this app!
Really loving this game. The graphics are retro, yet the gameplay is modern and fast-paced. My only gripe is the one life/permadeath rule. I highly doubt anyone will beat the game with just a single life, so why not allow us a couple extra lives and a save-game feature? That would allow me to give this great little game the high rating it would otherwise deserve.
This game is pretty fun and at a fair price. I do wish it was moga enhanced but it's not. However u can make the moga controller work with it and it's almost 100% except I cannot get attack button to work. I'm sure it something in the works to fix and optimize for Bluetooth keyboards and such but great game keep up the good work.
No game pad support makes me sad. I wish I didn't have to get a dev board in order to have enough peripherals to actually play the game, the touch controls are horrid, so I figured since a 360 game pad would be a sufficient single cable control solution, but it doesn't work. I have CM 11 on a moto G and it runs plenty of other games with controller support. Please if you could add game pad support that would fix every issue I have with this game. Thanks for reading. Sincerely, a concerned consumer.
My Microsoft designer Bluetooth keyboard doesn't want to work when I try to use it on startup. I love the game and have dealt with the touch controls though I'd really like to know why my keyboard can only open the map with the wrong key and I can't change them through the settings since it doesn't recognize my key presses. Any ideas on why?
Upfront, I know Chad from working together on another game project. When I found the note about replacing scones with sweet rolls, I loved Chad -- it was a heartwarming nod to those years. 7 hours later I was "F U CHAD! F'ING BEHOLDERS flying around firebombing me! EFFF!!"
Fantastic game with keyboard support. Looks like Attack is hard-coded to Spacebar, so keep that in mind if you map the game to a gamepad. Could use an easier difficulty mode and maybe some aim assist, but there's still plenty of fun to be had.
It's a good game and is quite enjoyable to play. However, as of right now the last update was in 2013, and it seems abandoned. The PC version, available on Steam, is ages ahead and the last update for that was just a month ago. I would recommend the PC version over this unless an up to date Android port is made.
First off it's unheard of for an android game to let you map your own controls. I use a Gamestop controller and it let's me map everything but the attack button. The one button I absolutely need and I can't map it! Other than that, the game is one of the best I've played. If I could have only 2 games on my nexus, it's this and gtasa.
I love this game so much, I love the controls, I love the art style, I love the variety of everything, But every time I try to load my save it says load error.. it's not just sometimes, it's every time. I'll exit the app to text someone and open it back up and the save is corrupted. please fix this. It's irritating and I'm not going to play it until it's fixed and that makes me sad because I paid $1.99 for probably one of the best Android games I've ever played.. but I don't want to restart over and over.
This app is likely the best game I have played on the google play app store. Basically a dungeon crawl in first person, this game runs very smoothly and has only failed to load a game once. My only suggestion would be to add an option to restart a floor after dieing, instead of resetting everything (this could be an in app purchase). I would HIGHLY suggest getting this, well worth the money!
The graphics are good. The gameplay is challenging. But one thing I miss in most modern games is local multiplayer. I think multiplayer would make this game a lot better. After all the best part of a good tabletop RPG is the idea of entering a dungeon to save the world, and having your friends to back you up when things get rough. Thanks for reading. :)
Soft sixaxis support: analogue sticks work plus in game keybinds make this a real snap to setup. Not full out of the box support but I'll take it. Otherwise a nice crawler. More later once I've got a few more hours on it.
I grew up playing DnD table top. Simple text style RPG. And Ofcourse, eye of the beholder. This game is not turn based, or forgiving. It is just plain dungeon raiding fun though! Played it on steam a long time ago. Now I just load it up on the ol s7 now and again for the heck of it.
Pretty much everything about this game is good but I think it would work better as a turn based game instead of real time, a touch screen just isnt good enough to control this game. Might work okay with a controller if I had one or it was supported. But I just hate touch screen first person games controls.
Nice art, good dungeon. My only complain would the the use of physics engine makes The control a bit uncomfortable on mobile devices. Maybe get rid of the intertia for more concise movements. Also, why UI components are located in the top middle of the screen, where it's very hard for the thumbs to reach?
With gameplay like this, it really needs to have some sort of over world and story mode, maybe have a safe mode where you can continue after dying. A big over world with quests and towns would really benefit this game though. Maybe even character customization.
I love this game but they haven't updated it in over two and a half years now. This game has been abandoned by it's developers. If you're buying this game and updates are a must have, then you may want to reconsider buying this game. If not, it's still quite fun and is still enjoyable as it is.
I love the game I would by any from the developer like this the problem is on tablets and phones the controls and monsters coming at you to fast to beat them cause the controls are akward to use on a phone or tablet this games perfect for pc but I only use a phone now, and play mostly on android there must be some way to even the playing field against the enemy's on phone maybe making it possible to sneak up on them idk
Really great game but please add box breaking that will make the game a lot better please add! I will give 5 stars if you do! :)
I love this game but they haven't updated it in over a year and a half now. The PC version on the other hand, is updated quite often. This game has been abandoned by it's developers. If you're buying this game and updates are a must have, then you may want to reconsider buying this game. If not, it's still quite fun even though the PC version has more content.
Great game but how about getting rid of those hearts and putting an actual numer for hp plus how about a status sheet to gauge when im leveling up next or want to see how my charecters states are. Other than that great game and challenging, I keep dying but oh well, ill make it sooner or later :)
It's a great game, however, I really hope the newer features of the PC version eventually make it over to Android, like the breakable crates and the chunkier cave structures. Additionally, an option to use the Android "immersive mode" would be nice. I'd gladly donate if such improvements are ever implemented, and hopefully I wouldn't be the only one. I bought this game twice, once on Steam and once here, and since I no longer have a PC I'm hoping the Android version hasn't been abandoned.
I like the game. It's fun and challenging and fresh every time. I used to play the PC version back when that was free (a few years ago or so). I intend to get the PC version again on Steam and be able to play there. As for the Android version, controls are a little difficult. Attacking can be difficult when the button to attack is hit in the same area as looking around. Would be nice to just tap the screen to use a selected item/weapon. No GUI, just any tap on the right side attacks. This would make it easier to manage battles. Also, will there be Moga or any HID support for the game in the future?

Finished it in under 7-8 tries with little to no replay value. The gameplay is great but the depth is lacking. The combat reminds me of Ultima Underworld's and could be better. The music is great and so are the sound effects. The pixel graphics looks great. I suggest adding out-of-combat skills, so far the only way to get food is by looting. Overall a great game, recommended for those who love a short dungeon crawl, roguelikes or for just casual fans.
