About Hack Run ZERO

It's time for a SECOND Hack Run!

Note: Hack Run ZERO is a prequel to the app 'Hack RUN'. You should play 'Hack RUN' before starting this game.

>>> "I promise you that today's hacking game... is worth the look. It's called Hack Run ZERO, and here's why you need to check it out" - AppChronicles.com

Test your skills again as you hack your way through strange and secretive organizations to discover their hidden agendas! Hack Run ZERO uses old school prompts (like dos and unix) to help you navigate from system to system. As you access users' accounts, you'll discover more and more about the organizations and the people that work there.

Your adventure begins when you receive a disturbing ransom note about a loved one. Your only way to set them free is to follow the kidnapper's shady demands. Once again your mission is to penetrate the maze of computer accounts through the use of your hacking skills. The stakes run high as you uncover more and more of the enemy's diabolical plan; and with over 70 levels there's no guessing how it will all end!

Stuck on a level? Just use the 'hint' or 'answer' commands to help you along.

Hack Run ZERO is a game. It is not a tool or aid for learning how to hack into real computer systems. i273 LLC does not endorse hacking.

This was a lot of fun! The story kept me engaged, and I really enjoyed puzzle solving with cmd prompts. My only two issues with the game were that 1) I couldn't turn the vibration off my phone. It's cool for suspenseful parts, but not when playing out in public places. The settings tab also wasn't accessible. Issue 2) is that some of the prompts weren't given ahead of time. 'get', 'move', etc, so I had no clue what to do other than use the answer key to move ahead. Fun game otherwise—Waiting for Part 3!

Played to the first Hack Run, now this one, and surely hope there will be another one. Just love it ! Challenging, even if the answer isn't always obvious. Great game with a intriguing, bizarre, and sometimes funny storyline. Great job and keep up the good work !

**SPOILER ALERT** I used the answer cmd so many times because I can't guess things that are simply not known and have to be guessed. Eg. 'core' and 'deac' -no unix system I've used does deac deactivate things, which is fine if you don't have to guess it - kinda silly way to make things abstruse. Systems come with instructions, man. Why are the full set of runtime commands hidden (from the head of IT)? Ohhh, because you couldn't think of any more ways to make the game harder, and expanding on terminal commands was too much work. The other Hack Run was a bit repetitive, with the constant passwd hunt...but it was more natural to play. This version is irrational.

Some of the puzzles were kind of oblique this time. Still a great concept. Hopefully the next one adds functional bookmarks instead of just the one. That was an awful tease.

This has everything I look for in a game. Puzzles, excitement, well developed and interesting. An excellent idea for a game in a new format. I need more!
