Aardwolf RPG for Android
this game is huge. And not clogged up with people like wow. If your gonna play this game I recommend doing the tutorials on a pc to get the hang of the game first. Without the other maps and stuff the game can seem very overwhelming at first. You just gotta stick with it and you'll soon become part of the aardwolf community. BEST PART. There are so many players devoting tons of Toomey to help out new players. They have channels specifically for new players so they can ask long time players for help!!
I haven't touched a MUD in over a decade and a half. Having heard about Aardwolf from a colleague, I decided to give it a shot. The client works wonderfully on my Prime. To any newcomers, the learning curve is steep, but the experience is very rewarding once you've a grasp of the basics. MUDs are definitely not meant for your average gamer, but I love it.
Love that I can still run quests while I'm at work! I wouldn't suggest it if you have never played aardwolf though. It's a complicated game if you don't know what you're doing. Still trying to figure out how to use aliases and triggers...
I like the idea of a text based rpg, but on a phone with no physical keyboard, I just find it awkward, as the keyboard takes up half the screen. Also, the short cut buttons on the screen are not properly aligned on the RAZR running ICS, so moving around becomes far more tedious than it should be. Finally, despite the tutorial academy, the text jumps around on the RAZR screen so it is to frustrating to scroll to the appropriate directions for the next step.
They may talk about a steap learning curve but all it is, is learning all the information that is needed to play... There is no learning curve just a lot of information to learn...me though I am writing it all down in a small booklett to help with what to do untill I memorize it. I have never in all my life played a text game so I am learning for the first time and I can safely say I have choosen a good starter game... It is just what I was looking for. Look me up names Feathersdark
This wasn't what I expected, but it is just as good. Sometimes the NPCs talks bit too fast, but that's it. I also like the newbies chat-ask-get-answers system thingy mabob. (/•w•)/ bob likes it. 'nuff said.
Come on people. Get a floating button for the options. They are download able from the app store. That's if your phone doesn't have a menu button. Also this app isn't meant for long term play. So it's not gonna be as functional as the mush client from their website. Use it or dont. I happen to like it.
Could be good but I got lost in the downstairs area of the skills lesson and used recall and couldn't find my way back and I'm not restarting for this game. Also tryed using academy goals but said was none
I never played a MUD before this game, and it really eases you into it. Very beginner friendly. Ths particular client isn't that great, very basic, but it works fine and it allows you to play on Android which is always good.
As soon as I touch my screen it scrolls to the top and gameplay is over. Also the input buttons at the top right cover part of the text making it hard to read. I think I would have enjoyed this if I could have played it.
Very nauseating on Galaxy S3. Glad it syncs to server. Great game! Will continue mostly on PC. Please allow screen rotation soon or something to help the scrolling.
I started out my character on Mxit, then it was disconnected and finally got the Mushclient. It's a good alternative when Im too lazy to get out of bed and onto the PC, but I still miss the Mxit version (considering how Mxit has turned out though, I'm glad we have this option.)
It's a lot of fun to play, but it's impossible to play comfortably on my phone. Text based Adventures that require you to read should not have a forced landscape layout. With the keyboard up I have exactly 3 lines of text Kraus my phone so it is very difficult to read an entire scene and React to what is going on. It's much easier to play this using a client on my computer. Had to uninstall.
Basically I will spend hours playing this game to gain exp and gold. Perhaps, you add a trading system? Just to make buying/selling easier
There is a big where when I start typing, what I type cant be seen unless I send it. It is annoying :( please fix, this game has a lot of potential. Also, whenever I tap the screen the text scrolls up and makes scrolling very difficult. Please fix
I love it. Years ago I played a text based rpg, but stopped playing because I could not easily use it on my phone. Having access to Aardwolf anywhere I go is wonderful. Great game.
Thanks a lot. Now I'm on a whole new plane of nerdiness. Can't believe how much fun this is! A way to toggle the map would go a long way for me.
I absolutely love this game, and if you even think you want to play it go to your computer right now and play it there. This app doesn't do the game justice at all. Its hard to constantly type things into the chat on the phone, and the wasd pad doesn't seem to work. If the wasd pad worked it would totally be great and I would play it on my phone all the time, but until then I'll stick to the pc client thank you.
I've just started mud games and I keep getting stuck have no idea what to do especially at the start in the academy. Really confusing game for me but otherwise its good game to play
I have sat for half an hour throwing out names like it wants me to and i cant even get past the first two seconds without being forcefully disconnected. Please help its saying EVERY NAME is not acceptable. Why. What the hell are the parameters to even inputting a name. Im also inputting any word and when i send it it doubles the word (i.e: ElizabethElizabeth) Ill rate better when i can get past the load screen.
It's my first time playing a MUD. At first, it was a bit confusing but thanks to the interactive academy tutorial, I'm really enjoying it! But everytime I swipe up to view the chat log, it gets buggy, i hope this will be fixed. :D
This is literally a free mmorpg for your phone. There is a learning curve but if you stock to it and finish the tutorial it I'd very rewarding.
On PC it's great, but this client isn't great. The buttons seem like a great idea, and the game itself is good, but I can't hit the backspace button to delete the last letter, or scroll very well. Phone model: Sony Z3v

Used this app before on another phone just fine but on my galaxy note 4, I can't access options to change anything about the default settings. This makes it impossible to use for my purposes. Aardwolf itself is great, and I'm a long time player, but I guess I have to stay on desktop
Love the game. Very fun. Its also great how there is a CPU version (free) and a phone version (free). I really recommend playing this game
The amazingly expansive world combined with extensive character building creates a deep level of gameplay. To someone new to MUDs the world presented can be too much, but the skilled players, helpers and "immortals" (the game admins) are eager to help new players. MUDs are a niche game type and don't appeal to many but for those who like core RPGs and can forgo graphics for complexity, this is worth your time.
Great game but..... The navigation buttons don't work on newer devices! PLZ fix this issue and i'll give 5 stars!
Ive had this game on my LGVolt and it worked great. I resently got the new model LGVolt2 and now nothing works right. I cant even see what im typing unless i hit the previous selection or remember what i typed. The quick select button was a wonderful addition to the mobel app but alas, it to had issues. I'd figured if it worked well on the previous phone model it would work just as good if not better for the next. If there is anything that you can do about the new bugs i'd love to see it happen.

This is one of the best text-based RPG games I have played in QUITE a long time. The people are so friendly and helpful, especially to newbies! So many classes and races are available for your choice in play. This RPG takes roleplaying and text-based adventure to a whole new level. I highly suggest you take a chance and play. PS. Don't be afraid to ask for help!
I loved this game. The only issue I had with the game was it was too free form. I wish there was some sort of story. Kinda like the elder scrolls games. Other than that I loved this game
all the complaints I've seen in the reviews regard aspects of the game which are changeable in the settings, except the one where it's difficult to use with a soft key input (and, of course, the complaints involving being required to READ and USE YOUR OWN IMAGINATION)... the mobile app is a mobil accessway to the game, which game is best enjoyed at a laptop or desktop. But when you can't get to those, you can access your game through your phone or tablet and with a Bluetooth keyboard it's quite accessible.
Scrolls very awkwardly, like when I let go it zooms to where my finger was so scrolling to the bottom is an annoying chore. Hotkeys don't work at all, it acts as if im not touching them and it just scrolls to where I pressed. When you type commands they dont show up as you type so it becomes confusing if you need to hit backspace and you don't know if you are typing correctly. Freezes when I try to change options. EDIT: Tried again years later and it still has the same problems. Seems the devs just dont car
Well I just graduated from the acadamy (basically the tutorial) Took 7 hours. Crazy high learning curve, but they teach you pretty intuitively. As far as muds go, this is the most feature rich and well coded game Ive ever played. The ascii map makes exploring (a once daunting and frightening task) a breeze. Incredible depth, and fun with lots of minigames and random quests.
Whilst I really enjoy all my time I have spent in aardwolf, it was on the MUSH client for windows. This is a nive app with simple features, but I dont think a game a complex as aardwolf is suited for a phone. There is just too much text and it all gefs lost as only so much can be diplayed at once. What makes it worse is the keyboard takes up half the screen. These problems are not with the app itself, but screen space. On a tablet, it would be perfect :) Overall, I highly reccomend plating this game.

The game is very good, but the community sucks, you mess up once and they revoke you of emotes and chat. Don't reccomend unless you don't like to socialize.
I used to play this game before. Fun to see I still have my previous ID. The game only runs in landscape mode and its kinda hard to type because keyboard takes all the place. Please makr it run in normal mode.

I'm new to text based games but this game is still so fun. Ive got a lot to learn but the Academy and help guides, and expecially the volunters, are just amazing. The only problem I've faced so far is the scrolling of the screen for the app. It kinda just flips out little bit and I can't stop it where I need to. But I'm really glad I picked up this app! So fun!!
