Sentinels Sidekick

How do you even use this app? I try adding cards to represent whats on the table and most arent even available to be added. The only way you can keep track of anything is through notes. What a waste of 4 dollars.

Spend 100 dollars on a card game, and greedy makers want to charge to make quality of game easier?

App is okay but charging extra for card artwork is lame when I paid $4.00 already for a companion app to a game that I also have paid for.

There are too many cards missing artwork. The artwork makes it easy to find and manage everything. Without it, card names have to be read and compared with each other. The overall look of the app also drops without the official card art.

This app is very useful you can kind of not worry about counters with this.. But also lets you keep track of games if you have to stop in the middle... Excellent app

Helpful for the game itself but I feel as if the other artworks for all heroes, villains etc should be free as just seeing them will encourage people to buy the expansions. Silly paying more for a little bit of artwork and really shows how greedy the company can be. They have a good game so no need to make us fork out even more.

Just a few things...needs a screen turn function as my charger port on on the bottom so if I have to charge my device..the screen doesn't turn..second thing is when you add stat effects in the notes there isn't a way to select a specific line to delete. You have to delete the entire note. Ex- plus 1 dmg, plus 1 reduction, and can't draw cards..if I wanted to just get rid of the plus1 dmg I can't select that specific line...can pass out tokens quicker...other than that..excellent app.

Look, I get that app devs need to make money too, but at $3.99, paying an additional fee for expansion artwork is asinine. I've already paid for all game expansions, and for this app. While useful, it's non-essential to gameplay. Your app is even featured in the box, which is more than can be said for other game related apps like the encounter randomizer, which are free and get no ad support by the game, so the need to exploit your customers and charge for something that should be free just rubs me wrong.

Why do I need to pay for art if I already paid for the app to begin with.

Doesn't provide much support for a paid application that is only useful as an adjunct to a board game

Makes tracking HP easier.

This app makes keeping track of hero, and single villian hit points a breeze. It gets harder with team villians, but this is only because of limited screen size. I still use the effect tokens because then the whole team can see them. In the end it is way more fun, and simpler to use this app. Keep it up guys!

Incredibly handy and makes the game play faster, which just means I can play the game more times. However, I'm currently unable to get the Vengeance/VotM team mechanic to function even after consulting the helpful guide feature. If that is fixed, this is a 5 star review.

great helper app...we played the boxed version without this app and found the tracking to be almost overwhelming. once we got this app...it really helped speed up the game and let people focus on the gameplay rather than counting. Enjoy! :-) Also thanks for the wrath of cosmos support!

I'm definitely a fan of how this app clears up the mess of cardboard counters! Overall this is a fantastic app. The setup on tablet to place in the center of the playing area is extremely helpful. However, the mobile app does not allow rotate and displays everything in portrait. Since my tablet crashed, I intended to pull up the app on my phone and Chromecast it to my TV for easy viewing. Unfortunately, the app remains portrait and comes up tiny and lackluster on the TV. Add the feature to mobile!

The counter is excellent and we'll worth the price, but it can't load custom characters, which is baffling as the Apple version apparently does allow it. Once that feature is added this will be a five star.

I really like the app, it really speeds up the game with tracking HP and quickly seeing who has the most/least HP. Biggest complaint I have is with the DRM built in. I don't have a data plan for my phone so when I am out of the house I will randomly get locked out of the app because it can't verify my license. It is SUPER FRUSTRATING to be punished for not having mobile data, and randomly locked out of using something that I own. Please do something about this.

This app can help simplify tracking in the paper game. It's worth a try if you find yourself fiddling around with too many chits and bits in game.

I prefer the iOS version. When they update this with the sync capability this will be the best companion to Sentinels of the Multiverse available. Really hope they do cross platform syncing too. Not all my friends have the same OS.

I really enjoy the value of having this app while running the game for friends.

I enjoy using the app for the random feature, and I'll use it to help keep track of health of heroes and the big villain, but past that I find it a little annoying to use, as it's too inconvenient to track minions and environment, so we just use tokens for the small fries. Having to pay for both the app and artwork was a disappointment as well (especially when some art was included and the rest wasnt.)

When I play Sentinels, I am usually the one running the villain and environment cards. The part I hated the most was going around the table and figuring out who had the highest or lowest HP so I could determine who gets the damage. This sidekick not only lets you keep track of the HP without the cardboard markers, but it shows you who has the least/most HP at a glance. I think that alone is worth the $3.99. Some of the other features are good, but some are a bit clunky. One example is the Notes where you can show Dmg. Taken -1, Resistances etc.. I find that it takes too much time to go through the menu to accurately keep track of these stats with the app. Also, if you have a villain that has a lot of targets in its deck, keeping track of their HP with the app is still a bit clunky so I usually use the cardboard HP markers for that. Some people on here complain about the artwork missing from the app. If you don't buy the artwork then it just displays the hero's name on a gradient background. By no means is this app unusable without the artwork. I would rather pay $3.99 for the app without artwork and base functionality than $15.00 just to get the app with the artwork.

I wanted to love the app, but until it has support for Vengeance and looks a little better, it's just OK. 8/14/14 EDIT: Thanks to the developer for updating the app and responding to the review! Vengeance support definitely makes this a much more usable app. Still wish there was artwork for everything, I understand that's on its way :) 1/16/15 EDIT: Artwork and Vengeance, now just waiting on Wrath of the Cosmos...

Bought this because it says you can look up the rules so I say hoping it would have rules for how specific cards actually play as some of the cards are ambiguous. Unfortunately there is none of it.

I mostly solo the game. App does what it claims to do but still is only slightly less fiddly than the cardboard markers. I still prefer pen and paper.

Love the app! Much easier to use than having the tokens. Just wondering when the update for WotC will hit.

4 dollars for the official app...that doesn't have all expansions heroes and villains. Sotm Commander and is free, and has everything.

Great to keep track of the game. Makes everything very fluid and easy, but the extra cost for the art packs keeps this from being a 5-star.

Grats app but I would like the whole art pack thing centralized like maybe all art ever for X amount of dollars.

First off they took money for an app then never delivered the artwork that is core to its function. Then when they did add it they wanted more money for it. That's all beside the fact that the app hinders gameplay. Using this centralizes all counts and information on a single player instead of allowing all players to maintain their own state.

I like the app, it helps to keep track of things. I would like to make a suggestion, create a unlucky pool target for Setback, so I can keep track of that with the app as well. Also, I just got Wrath of Cosmos, and there is a promotion flyer for this app in it, that made me think you are releasing an update for that soon. I will be disappointed if not.

This could be a good app, but they decided to sell artwork packs when they had kept answering complaints about missing art, with "it's coming." Awful decision, especially as the packs are much too expensive for artwork alone. Card closeups, and bios would improve the app.

It's a brilliant app that I whole heartedly recommend for SotM players, even if you only use it for randomised game setup. In previous review I mentioned art missing, this has now been added as cheaply inapp purchases, but the real stand out is the cool and very useful "token keyboard" that means you'll never need to use the tokens from the game again!

This is a good alternative to the constant HP updating in the game, although the new IAP of artwork packs seems a little greedy given how much the art helps in identifying specific cards. I do like supporting Handelabra, though, especially since the total game conversion is so good!

I paid 3.50$ for this and it works really great, but could you please add artwork for the expansions?? Rook city and infernal relics came out two years ago! It's a great app and I'd never play a game without it, but it couldn't take too long to add the new ones, yeah? Once you add them, I'll rate 5 stars! But, seriously great work on this otherwise! UPDATE: Not paying 5 dollars for artwork that should've been included in the 3.50$ price tag. Seriously, a dollar for each expansion??
