On Android 6.0.1 w/Samsung Galaxy there is no longer a menu soft key and attempting to hold down the back key (which is now supposed to be how to invoke the menu) results in GoGrinder immediately exiting. I love this app and would like to be able to see this fixed. Update: The workaround is not great, but it works. If you enable Settings -> Personal -> Accessibility -> Dexterity and interaction -> Assistant menu it will force an annoying overlay soft menu that works when holding down back in the app to get to the menu. Maybe this has something to do with not honoring the press and hold delay on the hardware keys? Edit: Thanks for the added features in the latest! It's great to be able to see the nav dots now!

Randomly rotates and changes colour. Would be nice if it kept track of problems you got wrong so that you could review them.

Problems with back button fixed! Seems to be working great

by N####:

I can't help but feel I have been ripped off here. Like another user, the back button doesn't work. Using the Samsung Galaxy revert button exits the program. How do I get back to the menu? Seems great if only I can access the menu easily. Otherwise it is less than useless. EDIT: The developer responded to this comment, but the response did not address the problem. I am already within a problem set, and there is no "menu" button at all. I am stuck in a problem set and cannot go back to select another one. It's useless.

Just getting into the game and love this app for drilling. Looking for more problem sets on in the internet now.

Randomization of color and orientation is a must for me. I also like how it keep tracks on average score (%) for each problem collection. Now what would imo raise this app to the rank of complete awesomeness would be: a. The ability to create brand new problems directly from the app (note that currently you can import problems by copying them manually inside the appropriate folder). b. Some kind of SRS (Spaced Repetition System) mode. Thanks to the author for a great app

The problem collection I've tried is just right for my level (7k) and there's a good number of them. But best of all, the interface is exactly right, simple and straightforward. Apparently it's easy to add more problems, but I've not tried that yet.

I can try the problems sequentially or randomly, and when I stop it's waiting for me to continue there. I also like the way the colors and locations are switched ad random. I would like a tweek: when I'm trying to find the solution and I'm say black, after I put a stone the system adds the next white stone. Would it be possible to change this so that I have to put the white stone also at the right place and so on? This would make me think about the best moves for black and white! :)

How do I come back to main menu? Why does "back" button do absolutely nothing? I'm stuck inside a problem set and can't even go back to a problem if I already hit next.

C70%

Great app! Hold down the Android task-select button to access the menu.

C70%

Excellent but stuck in a set once started. Back button only exits program on my Samsung Galaxy tab e and also can't access settings. No landscape either... closing the program and then restarting just opens into the last set I was doing lol. To access another set I need to actually delete the problem off my sdcard. Unacceptable...works fine on my phone though

Used to be a really good app but the e menu button seems to have disappeared. Now it's impossible to change problem sets.

My device doesn't have a menu button and this app doesn't have a cogwheel icon anywhere. So how do I access this app's settings?

The GUI is clear and clean. A whole new set of problems for .99 cents. Didn't have to search the web for hours. Cool!

Nice clean app. No distracting ads. Controls are very straight forward. Well designed. Thank you!

Fantastic. I only wish it was easier to find problem sets, because this is a great interface for practicing them.

D70%

Just one thing, though. I noticed in the basic collection, there was a problem I found confusing. In prob121.sgf, after Black plays 1. b3, White plays 2. c3, and I fail the problem. But then it seems to me that Black can reply with 3. c4, placing the white stones at c3 in inescapable atari. The three remaining white stones are also screwed. How is that not a win for Black?

D70%
by D####:

The only problem I had is when I completed a problem without understanding why it was correct. The app automatically goes to the next problem with no option for going back. There is not even any time to realise which move was right or learn why.

Very nice interface. Is it possible to store games in Dropbox and access them there instead of on an SD card?

Still no landscape support on Nexus 10. Not acceptable these days.

Great app. Pre installed problems are great. My one suggestion would be that I would love it if the app didn't automatically advance upon solution, so I could read the final answer for the harder cases.

Best I've used on Android. Would love to open saves from the desktop client or the sta/sel files over there.

I had a problem with the initial install, where GG couldn't write to my sdcard. The author fixed this in 1.2.1 shortly after my email. Now works like a charm. I've been using this for years on the PC, it is great that there is now an Android version. Serious players study using GG - it is an excellent study aid. @wzhliang you can put more problems on your sdcard using a usb cable and your PC - there are tons of problem sets out there...

I've used the PC version for years, and now can take my problems collections on the road. It's great!

My email complaint to Tim was immediately answered and the updated version was offered. After updating the program works fine. The graphics are nice and clean and it is a joy to be able to work on the go problems during any spare time. Very handy. Haven't tried to download other problems yet. The sets it came with are keeping me busy enough.

TBH, I was expecting more from this as a paid app but it's exactly the same as the PC version. A few suggestions: - add more problems, or add way of downloading more problems after installation - improve user experience with PAD. On my nook color only 1/3 of the screen is used. - improve UI/sound. It just doesn't feel like a program written for touch screen devices.

This is a great app. Works without any problems. It would be nice though to be able to read sgf files from the external sd card.
