２０世紀初頭のフランス。
記憶喪失の男と姉妹の話。姉妹は男を屋敷に受け入れ、まるで以前からそうであったかのような日常が始まる。しかし、その日常は突然崩れ始めた。ある事件
をきっかけに男の記憶が甦ろうとしはじめたのだ……

■登場人物紹介

○フランツ○
記憶を失って行き倒れてた所を姉妹に助けられ、以来屋敷に住まうようになった。前歴は一切不明。フランス語の詩をそらでいえるらしく、本人はフランス人だと思っている。記憶もないので姉妹が『フランツ』と適当に名前をつけた。

○セシル○
リズの姉。両親を戦争で亡くし、その両親から受け継いだ小さな屋敷で妹と暮らす気丈な娘。草花を育てることに無上の喜びを感じ、庭園の手入れを唯一の趣味としている。本人はしっかりしていると思っているのだが、周りからみればどこか抜けてる風にしか見えない。

○リズ○
セシルの妹。両親を失った心的外傷と、外部の人間との接触が極端に少ない環境のせいか、内向的で感情の起伏が激しい。年齢よりも子供っぽく、精神的にも幼い感じ。セシルとフランツ、友達のルイには心を開いているが、そのせいか酷く我儘になる。

○ルイ○
村に住む牧童。他に訪れる者はいない姉妹の家に足繁く通い、姉妹の世話を焼いている。いつもリズのワガママに手を焼いており、傍からみれば奴隷状態だが仲は良い。密かにセシルに好意を抱いているが、セシル本人は気づいておらず、彼女からすればルイは弟のような存在。
