Witness was made for Global Game Jam 2014, in which our prompt was to make a game that focuses on the theme: "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." Creator Jon Graham came up with the idea of a murder-mystery scenario where each witness perceived the crime in reflection of their own personality. Thus, we decided to make a narrative-based game centered around comparing the testimonies of each witness. The game went from concept to publishing in two days. After some bug testing, typo fixes, and general changes to the game, we have the final version of Witness completed, and available on Android tablets!
The game was made with help from the UW-Whitewater GAMED organization, a collective of student game developers from the University of Whitewater - Wisconsin. The Witness team consists of Jon Graham, Jacob Schliesman, and Max Mallory.

I enjoyed this game a lot and the stories of the characters are interesting that provide a nice challenge of piecing everything together. Upon getting the right evidence, I knew who did it but when they began asking the questions instead to throw me off, they succeeded for a bit which just makes this game even more fantastic. :) Thanks for making such a thrilling murder mystery game!

A little short, with only 1 ending. Basically just spam dialogue, then pick the correct evidence and suspect. If you pick wrongly, game over so remember to save game! Also the buttons are ridiculously thin. I still find the peanut butter suspicious. If there had been a 2nd alternate ending, it would have so much more replay value. Still, pretty cool game.

You basically just wear out all dialogue options. It took me about ten minutes to beat.

Its awesome!! U actually need to analyse evidence! Concentrate on wat ppl are saying, pick up on useful information! Really great!!! the evidence leads u to the culpit, u figure out motive and method (C O D) I hope there are more like these games out there!
