Piquet

Good, solid implementation of Piquet (and the only one on the Play Store so far) with all the rules implemented. I really liked it. The AI does a decent job playing out the trick-taking phase (some slip-ups here and there), but it is notably far too reluctant at the exchange phase as the elder hand. It would be able to form much stronger declarations and win more often if it played more aggressively as the elder hand. As an added note, it would be nice to have the rules and basic strategy tips built into the app for beginners.

This game is very fun, addictive, and great for casual play. The computer opponent makes a lot of errors with the default settings, but the "AI Level" setting evidently counteracts this. Well done!

I hope the developers keep supporting and improving it. The layout and feel is exemplary. Even the adds aren't intrusive (so far).

Good implementation of Piquet. Recommended. I should add that this app doesn't teach you how to play or help you with play (you can find Windows software which does that) but that is not a criticism. It would be good to be able to see a breakdown of scoring after a hand. Personally I would pay for an ad-free version of this app - though the ads do not spoil the experience.

Recent update has fixed the first trick bug, and now everything seems to work really well. AI good enough to provide reasonable game.

Good game and good interface, but it has a couple major bugs. First, the game becomes unplayable if I leave the app or lock my phone during most stages of the game. I have to restart the game to play. Second, and I don't know if this us some sort of rules variant I can't find, sometimes if I'm elder and I have a great hand and I lead the first trick with a card I know will win, they play a bad card and take the trick. Frustrating, but I don't know if it's working as intended.

love this game. however this bug is wrecking my enjoyment of it. often the first trick if the opponent does not (because he cannot) follow suit, the trick is won by the younger incorrectly regardless of card values. should be other way round - elder should win in this case. Please fix!!

I really like the game but with the new update it slows play down because you have to hit the two cards (the arrow) after each trick. I wish there was an option to turn it off.

This is probably the only way I'll ever play this obscure game, so I'm very grateful to have this. I can imagine one or two improvements but it plays well which is a relief given that it's the only choice. Thanks for choosing to make a piquet game.

One of the best card games around. Good Soft has made great apps for some of the best old traditional card games. Hopefully there are more to come... I'm really hoping for Ombre, Nap, and Loo.

Liking it so far. Would really like it if the cards you selected for discard was more prominent. Maybe dim the cards. That yellow border is unclear based on how you select. Also is AI level 1 tougher than 3 or vice versa?

There aren't any other Piquet apps out there and there doesn't need to be. Works well with good options. The ability to sort cards by suit or rank would be good though.

I'm starting to get the hang of it, but a tutorial would be a nice addition to help people learn the game.
