Rebase is a challenging puzzle game that tests your spacial awareness skills and ability to strategize and think ahead. Use four types of moves (rebase, reset, remove, and cherry-pick) to untangle these messy dots into a straight line. The goal of the game is simple; get your messy dots on the right to have the same yellow line as the straight line on the left, your goal line.
Each of the four moves has special quirks and uses. As you master the moves, the levels will get increasingly harder, requiring you to think ahead, be creative, and use moves in combination to rearrange the dots properly. Make sure to read the "how to" section before you start because the moves won't really make sense until you do.
Rebase was inspired by and named for a tool many software developers use on a daily basis called git. The moves in this game are actual "moves" programmers use to merge code together, my favorite being rebase. Sometimes it can get pretty crazy untangling that mess, and using rebase helps to keep things organized and in a straight line. While other people view using git as a painful but necessary nuisance, I always see it as a fun puzzle, which is why I made rebase. I wanted everyone, developers, and non-developers alike, to be able to have fun untangling branches of dots. That’s all rebase and git really are, fun and challenging puzzles.

Unfortunately it doesn't work on my phone (galaxy s4), it pops up a window saying its my first time using the app, and asks if I would like to read the how-to file, but it won't register pressing either of the buttons and just gets stuck on that window!

Don't get me wrong: it immediately shows the 'read how to play' questions , which is nice. Sadly, the buttons on that screen appear not to function, and so the entirety of my review is based on the only part that worked on my 5.1 phone. So, nothing. UPDATE 2016-02-24: still completely broken on 6, so no points. Oh: also busted on my 5.1 tablet .

I am a bit geeky (high-fucntioning autist) and this game appeals to the part of me that is good at understanding underlying patterns and structures. Once you get it, it is easy, but first you have to get it. The designer based it on the git distribution version control system used to coordinate the different versions of work occurring when multiple developers work on a project simultaneously.

This is a good, original idea for a game but the implementation is dreadful. It's very laggy: the balls move around the screen slowly & jerkily & the buttons often don't register in time that you've pressed them. The graphics are buggy (yellow lines left at end) & unprofessional, there are controls on screen that do nothing & the controls insist on button-ball-ball when they could do ball-button-ball too. Worst of all, EVERY level you complete you get spammed to go to the play store & download another game.
