Pandemic: The Board Game for Android
Pandemic is a great board game. This is a faithful port of the game with an intuitive interface, excellent tutorial, and very good graphics. The only thing I don't like is the achievement system, requiring a Google Gamer account. It nags you until you create one.
I absolutely love this board game and the app makes it so I can play by myself since no one wants to play as often as me. I like that you can zoom in on the board but I actually don't need to most of the time, there as only been one incident where my fat fingers sent me somewhere i did not want to go, and there is an undo button just for that problem too. I appreciate how well the undo button is set up because it cannot be abused and also how all the information you need is easily accessible. I would definitely recommend this to someone like me, however I do think that the actual board game is better if playing with people.
My sister got this board game for Christmas and the app is a perfect version of the real thing. Only wish list is ability to play others over Bluetooth. This would be an awesome game for any flight. Also a play online, with or without friends option (non Bluetooth) would also be a great addition. When I travel back home I'd love to play with family this way. With multiplayer (not shared phone) a chat function would be nice too.
I don't usually make reviews but this game deserves one. I love pandemic I've got all expansions and playing the legacy game and personally I loved the game but the only thing I would add would be a online game or if you could play with friends that also have the game would be amazing I hope you add this but if not at least thanks for reading
If you like the board game and want to be able to play alone when no one else is around, this app is Perfect! It really is straight forward, easy to navigate, and a well done app version of the board game! There is no pattern to the games as they are all feel very different and new each time. Worth the buy!
Fantastic adaptation! The interface is really great, the sound and music is perfect, it's a very fun game. $6.99 + $1.99 packs for more roles and a variant difficulty pack is worth it. I've got dozens of plays. Please add more roles and variants! I'd pay $1.99 for them.
Great version of the board game. But will take me a little time to get used to playing as all 4 players! I would love to see a "legacy" version of this, having played the board game I could see it being and awesome campaign mode for more replay ability.
I would rate this game higher but this game is a dick. No matter what you do youre more likely to lose. Its fun dont get me wrong but it can be frustrating to know you are so close to winning and you lose because you run out of cards which is rare compared to the MANY other ways to lose. One of the bestmade board game on mobile out there.
If you like Pandemic GET THIS AP! Pandemic can be a bit daunting to breakout on a Monday night, unless you have this app! Truly super fast game play to not only learn the game but be a true player when you actually decide to breakout the boardgame! I can't put it down!
When I first ran it, there is a black window that covers most of the screen that does not go away. Rotating the screen shows options underneath, but the black window follows the rotation shortly after.
We love Pandemic as a tabletop game. Because of the nature of the game you keep coming back. Not easy, which makes achieving all the better. This version is perfect for those nervous of the £30 price tag for the boxed version, but also a great extra for solo players. No regrets.
It's a direct port of the board game which is exactly what I was looking for. However it desperately needs a Multiplayer mode (preferably Async). Pass N' Play is never a good substitute for real multiplayer and single player gets dry really fast. Also, it really needs options to turn off all of the flashy Laser-Floyd like effects.
Bought so I could learn via the app to play the actual board game. Great game. Only negative is that occasionally I lose visibility to my team members cards - like I can't pull that menu over. It definitely affects game play to not understand all.
Pandemic is fun yet frustrating, so it keeps bringing you back for more. You can play the board game alone or with friends and the app is a great recreation. I get board game apps for several reasons, its the easiest way to learn the rules, then once you know the game, you can play a quick game without the setup or if you can't find other people.
A great implementation of a wonderful board game. Picked it up on sale for $2 which is a can't-say-no price. As with the board game, the expansions are important for replayability (currently "On the Brink" and "Virulent Strain" are available separately for $2 each). The main thing that I would like to see added to the app is a history/statistics tracker. A simple win/loss by difficulty level would be a great start, but I would also be interested to see a breakdown by role.
Very nicely done. Im satisfied. I only dont like that sometimes the cards of the players on the right side disappear (I can see the arrow, but when I touch it, it doesnt work) - in that case I have to play it as if I were blind. Could you look into this? I have LG G2 Mini. Thank you.
This is very true to the board game (v2 - this is not the original printing/rules). Overall it is great. The zoom and pan gets a little confused at times but it is easy to re-centre. The game saves when you exit so you can take your time. It is a great way to learn the abilities of characters and hone your skills.
If you bought the board game and are totally confused? Download the digital version, play and all will become clear. 1 star. Love love love the game. But thats where it stops because you cant play with others. But getting others to play can be tough. What about Pandemic With Friends? You play all roles 1-4. Cannot play with others. Ironic since this seems to teach how to play well with others.
Great game, good expansions. Intended for local pass n' play, but I've only played it alone. Hasn't gotten old in the months I've owned it, and I play it almost every day. Online multiplayer would be nice, but I could see how it would be hard to establish collaboration without physical proximity of players. Great balance of chance and skill.
Oh this is amazing. I'm just getting into board games and have very quickly gravitated towards Pandemic as my favorite game so far. This app is great to play, it also acts of sort of, a tutorial for playing the physical board game, which is handy, while standing alone as a great mobile game on its own merits. The most valuable use of it I believe, is being able to figure out if the game is for you without having to drop 30-40 pounds on the board game itself. I thought it would be counter intuitive to the theory of playing less video games and more board games, but this one gets the balance spot on and just encourages to play physical games, while also scratching the itch to play...something.
Very good interpretation of the board game, tutorial does a good job at explaining the mechanisms and is quite convinient not having to set up the board game manually. I hope it will receive more expansions, such as the bio terrorist expansion.
I can't even tell you how many times I've played the board game and now this app...seemed impossible. you run out of cards too quickly. But fun to see how close I can get before ultimately losing...until today, i finally won.
This is a really solid mobile version of the board game. It doesn't disappoint! Very easy to learn and use. Lots of fun and plenty of replay value. (Now, Pandemic Legacy as a mobile game...? That would be incredible.)
Fantastic, faithful adaptation of the boardgame, Pandemic. The graphic representation of diseases cubes, flashing lights on cities at risk of outbreak and music/sound effects all add to the experience. My only concern is with the drawing of cards from the infection deck which seems to be stacked against the player. I have played the boardgame regularly for months and I have never had so many losses by outbreak. The probability of drawing three outbreaks from three infection cards is so low that the fact it seems to happen almost every time is suspicious. Bad luck, I can accept. Losing is just as fun as winning unless you feel like the circumstances are unfair.
Overall a great game and recreation of the board game. Also fully playable offline and great for those long plane rides. However, be warned that there is NO ONLINE MULTIPLAYER feature, so the only way to play this with friends is if you're using the same device.
5-stars for the port and interface, 0-stars for cheating AI. I can win more than 50% of the games on "Introductory" level, but it's still very challenging. On Standard difficulty? No way. I'll be doing great, no outbreaks, 3 of 4 diseases cured, and the AI pulls the rug out from under you. Typical scenario: an Epidemic card is drawn for a city that is already infected, this produces an outbreak infecting all connected cities. Maybe one of those cities already had two infected cubes, now it has three. Then three infected city cards are drawn. Oh damn! What amazingly bad luck, one of the city cards just happens to be the same city card as was drawn from the bottom of the pile for the Epidemic! You get the pinball effect, game over. I've lost so many games this way, games that looked like they were in the bag, definite win within 1-2 turns. I told a friend who's played the board game a lot so he download it and gave it a try. Same thing. I've always hated games that use a cheating AI to make the game more difficult. When it's this blatantly obvious it's that much worse. Games shouldn't feel this frustrating. You shouldn't feel so obviously cheated after every loss.
Buy app. Feel happy. Start first game. Feel happy. Notice problem. Quarantine Specialist is not stopping infections? No help anywhere on app or online. Feel mildly annoyed. Reflect on pointlessness of life. Feel slightly less happy. Please fix. App and game good. I just want it to work!
In fact i oove this game whole heartedly to death. But it feels like the rng in this gamr is out to get me. There have been so many times where i've gotten so close to curing all 4 diseases and then out of no where a 6 hit combo of chain reaction outbreaks go off in asia or the middle east and i lose. And it happens EVERY TIME i get close to curing all diseases. So annoying. Great game but screw the cards...
This is the gold standard for all board game apps. A perfect tutorial which introduces the rules of the game could in itself be a great introduction to the card based board game alone, and make a great training tool. Then the lovely touch interface which brings all the info you need within easy reach, rounds it off. The visuals are exactly as you know from the original game and the only thing missing is connected multiplayer, wifi locally or net play. Can't wait to see what else this dev can translate digitally. Highly recommended.
My wife and I love this game. Both on the phone / tablet and the actual board game. My only gripe with the tablet / phone version is its a little predictable; after you get an epidemic it is almost a 100% certainty that you will pull the same card in the infection phase as you did in the epidemic causing an outbreak. Also, if it's just the two of us playing and we randomized the roles, one of us is always picked as the medic. It could be a bit more randomized, but great game other than these issues!
Pandemic is a cooperative game which is good both for solo play and with friends, though only pass-and-play is available. A robust tutorial is included for those new to the game or in need of a refresher. Replay ability is sky-high thanks to the different assortment of characters and random events with the adversary diseases. It can and should be tough, losing will happen and winning is seldom a cakewalk.
Aside from the lack of co-op, this is a flawless adaptation. The interface is slick and easy to follow. A little pricey, but well worth the quality.
I like the game, but I feel like it would be even better if there was an option for online multiplayer.
This is a great game to play Angelo guy dancing meetings NA meetings operate accident
Not enough actions. Realistically you should be able to trade information without having to be in the same city or in that specific city for lots of things.
Never played the board game version, but this seems way too difficult. Nice interface though.
This app is the way apps should be. It runs smoothly and is a beautiful version of the original game. It's challenging, but that makes it fun. Some expansion features are available for purchase and I would like to see more.
I've played Pandemic organically but digitally is so much better! It's just like the board game except that the music makes the gameplay more anxiety conducive and intense lol
I have not found that page so far. It's probably right in front of my face, literally I suppose, but I've clicked on just about everything. Thanks for a quick response. I found it. You have to actually click to start a game. Moving that to the main page makes more sense in my opinion.

My husband and I have the board game and we play it a lot, this is a good version but it doesn't have everything the board game does (expansion wise). Not recommended for solo players, as it was originally intended as a co-op game. When he doesn't want to play, I open up the app and play both characters though. I love this game! Every game feels different because there's so much randomness, never boring. Highly recommend purchasing the expansion of roles and events to get the full variance of the game. A must have board game and if you're obsessed like me, a must have app.
