Snes9x EX+ for Android
Definitely the best SNES emulator by far. However, since the game doesn't allows you to manually customize your virtual buttons, you probably are going to stuck in few games. It would've been good if I can press multiple button at once, as some games requires that. If you're playing Chrono Trigger, guess what; you'll be stuck at the 1st visit to Proto Dome (yes, its the door that requires you to press L+R+A button).
A great snes emulator. It's not zsnes... so it really is faithful to snes9x legacy. With excelllent bluetooth and usb controller support it's nearly perfect. Cheat codes are missing however and the need to relaunch it each time one wants to change roms can feel cumbersome. However with zero ads and nearly perfect emulation you can't go wrong here... an excellent emu all in all.
If you need an INPUT LAG FIX go into the video options and slightly decrease your framerate. I have mine set to 59.82hz. Much better. Jason knows what is important for an emulator UI: above all, be able to navigate via gamepad. Thanks to u/jasperstaal for the lag fix.
To keep this short, I love this emulator. My only knock is that when configuring my controller setup, I can't set Turbo for L and R buttons but can for A, B, X, and Y. This doesn't come in handy for all button mashers like the WWF RAW and Royal Rumble games. All in all, really solid app.
I really enjoy this app. I love playing old childhood games. The only problem I have is that you can't change the size of the buttons or d-pad. I've run into some problems where having a bigger d-pad would be extremely useful. Could you add an update that allows a customization to enhance the size of it?
Well, the controls aren't perfect but that's just me since I'm used to feeling the button when I press it. Anyway, this emulator runs great, All the games in the Snes library runs perfectly, well, at least the good snes games. It's prefermance is up to par, now what are you waiting for? Download it already.
Pros plays smoothly on everyone I've downloaded from the emuparadise site. Brings back my childhood playing Snes with my brother in our living room. Only con you need a Bluetooth controller to get the full experience. Also I'm not sure but the button lag can sometimes be a real pain. Playing super Ghouls n Ghost at the moment gotten farther than I ever did as a kid hahaha.
This thing is the best for old rgps because it has a "fast forward" button, and that makes it great for grinding. Tho this app also has it Folly's when it comes to playing most other games, and fighting games in particular because button mashing on a table Is not as satisfying .
This application is probably the best choice for emulating snes games on Android. My only complaint is that the support for super fx games (although I only tried one of them) isn't very good, although I understand why good super fx support would be hard to program. The game that I tried that didn't work very well was the Doom snes port.
For anyone using an LG V20, go into the phone's "game battery saver" and turn it on, then go into "optimization by game" and set the resolution for SNES9X EX+ to "normal." After that, open the app and set the frame rate to detect whatever your screen is. Set the skip late frames to "On." Set GPU Copy Mode to "standard." If you're using a Bluetooth controller, turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi or else you'll get input delay. Enjoy!
Ever since my galaxy s6 software updated i havent used the app, but tonight my internet provider went down so i stopped to try to play a game, and now apparently all my ROM and save data are now apparently missing and i have "no recognized file extension" or some bs. Care to help solve this, anyone?
I LOVE THIS APP! I tried using it through screen sharing cast and it's unplayable. Is there anyway you could look into full chromecast support? If you did you would make millions lol
I want to give this emulator a better rating but I can't. Controller seems a little janky at times and if I reply to someone on messenger while playing a game the emulator exits instead of pausing when losing focus even though I have that setting turned on. I was just playing Final Fantasy III and lost all my progress through a dungeon because of this. Not too happy about that. Uninstalling now.
It WORKS AWESOME. Plays ALL my games. I love having my original SNES Games on my phone. YES...I STILL HAVE MY ORIGINAL GAMES, ALONG WITH MY SNES IN ITS ORIGINAL BOX IN MINT CONDITION. SNES was one of the best systems I own. Xbox 360 is my 2nd fav. All the new Next Gen Systems an games STINK!!! AN MOBILE SO CALLED "FREE" FRAUD RIGGED GAMES ARE GOING TO KILL THE GAMING MARKET. ANY ONE WHO DOWNLOADS A "FREE" MOBILE GAME SHOULD HAVE THEIR HEAD EXAMINED.
Best emulator I could find! The only complaint I really have is how hard it is to push 2 buttons at once. The controls aren't sensitive enough, but that's just how it is with touchscreen emulators and not a controller. Great app!
Dear Mr. Robert, i used this app for a long time, but recently i have trouble with the FPS,its slows down and makes the gameplay sucks down,do You have any Suggestions on How to repair, please ?,thank you...
I haven't read this under other reviews, but I'm getting some crashes when I try to open the emulator menu after launching a game. Seems to be more common when app first runs and less so after multiple relaunches though I've gotten to the point of cringing every time I to open menu to save state. Of course due to the way emulators work, SRAM isn't written until a clean program exit, so I can't rely on in game saves either. Still using Android 4.2.2 which I know is dated now, with an Intel CPU, but I wouldn't think that's an issue.
This proves to be one of the best free SNES emulators available for Android (possibly the best) since it is easy to use, doesn't crash and supports external controllers and other accesories (not to mention the variety of features it brings to the table). My only complaint so far is the lack of interchangeable skins for the buttons, I'd really want to play using the SNES skin layout or the Super Famicom one (or multiple custom made skins like gba4ios for example). Overall, this emulator is pretty solid.
never had a problem with any feature until now, the emulator crashes about 15 minutes into a session all the time now without autosaving. running android 4.12 samsung galaxy express. --- anyway i found an older version on a forum and reinstalled and it works fine again!
The app is wonderful. Thou now for the second time in the past year all my save data has disappeared. Save state, sram all of it gone. Not sure of what's causing other then something I'm the updates. But it's grown frustrating and keeps me from wanting to play some of my favorite classic RPGs..
This is a great free snes emulator for android. And it runs and plays snes games smoothly. I've played Fighters History and World Heroes 2 and a few other games, on this emulator and they all run well. You can even resize, the touchscreen D pad and buttons, to your liking. And you can even move around, the Touch screen D pad and buttons, and place them, almost anywhere on the screen. The only problem, is that the save option, sometimes bugs out a bit. And you sometimes lose your game progress and have to start over etc. But overall, a super good emulator for Samsung Galaxy tablets etc. I give it 4.7 out of 5. Nice work dudes.
This works great! I bought an 8bitdo snes controller and it works great with my Samsung s5, connected it via Bluetooth and didn't even have to map the buttons! Onky thing I had to change was the X button was registering as the A button vice versa, easy switch and bam! I'm playing all the classic games I did as a kid, kudos for this awesome app :)
This emulator and all the .emu emulators always have a top notch quality to them. They work fast on most hardware and never disappoint but there is a button lag on the shield which gets annoying. Two things I suggest are the ability to add more video shaders like hq4x and duplicate buttons for controls.
Excellent and recommended SNES emulator for Android. Drag and drop ROMs directly to a folder, then run the games using the apps' built-in browser. Save states and auto save states, and cheat support for extra efficiency.
Good luck ever pressing two buttons at a time without adding a Bluetooth controller. Not sure any games are playable with just the app.
Don't waste your time with this most games are not playable as you can't hold down multiple buttons. Might be ok for a few very simple games but not really worth it if you are a serious gamer.
I've been using this for a year. I haven't had any problems yet. It plays all the rims I throw at it and the touch controls are better than most.

the best emulator i used so far. just 1 thing, can i play multiplayer game? like connecting 2 android through bluetooth and play with friends. .hehe. .
I tried playing chrono trigger but all it gives is a black screen. The audio works however. I tried it on another emulator and it worked fine. Please help
I can play earthbound on my phone! Play games people would have payed up to $100 for totally free. This is infinitely better that paying for lame phone games.
Works great with the games played so far. Only problem is I can't seem to map the X and Y buttons on my USB SNES controller. The controller buttons all work fine on PC.
Excellent free app, works well without requiring a lot of unnecessary permissions. Basic SNES emulator, nothing too special but it's solidly built and easy to use. Supports standard emulator formats (so in theory you can copy your save files over to your PC, etc) and state saves. Gets four stars because it will randomly crash when switching to another app on my phone (Moto XT1049). I've played with the settings and haven't been able to resolve this, so my solution is just to state save constantly so I don't lose anything. Never had the emulator crash while playing a game, just when switching over to answer a text or whatever. It may be something specific to my device or a setting I'm missing.
If you die in your game (I've had issues with FF2, FF3, and Chrono Trigger) , the emulator creates a save state that overrides any in-game save you might have had. Normally the auto save-state function is great... You can just turn the game off whenever.... But anyone who knows RPGs is aware that losing even a fair their progress is enough to put down the game for a long while... Or permanently. It was fun while it lasted, but the third game was enough. No patience to repeat the battles & dialog.
Pretty good, just a few minor issues when using an external controller. 1. Delayed save states 2. If you are holding a button, including the dpad it will stay held til you press it again.
Seems like a great app but it causes earthbound's anti-piracy to activate. So it's unplayable. Is there a way to fix this I live the emulator otherwise.
I love this emulator and have used it for years but ever since the new update it crashes every time I open a Facebook chat bubble or need to switch to my chrome browser to look up stuff about the game I'm playing. And the auto save on exit feature has only started working half the time please fix I have an old Alcatel onetouch fierce 2 so please fix because I would really like to go back to giving you a 5 star rating again
It's really good, the one issue I have is that IT DELETED ALL OF MY SAVE DATA ON MYBOY. Ugh I'm so mad now, so many Pokémon lost ;_;
Well every thing works great on it but I get some serious input lag when using my ps3 controller :( I do like how it was reconized right away when plugged in but I also noticed the button inputs were mixed up no worries tho that's an easy fix :)

There is a slight sputtering in the audio. Also, could you please consider adding fine speed controls in the emulator. For example, on the desktop SnesX9, there are speed controls (not frameskip or fast forward / turbo mode) that make (E) games run slightly faster at %120 speed that also speeds up the sound. For example, the (E) version of MegamanX's background music at %120 speed sound more catchy. That's how I play on desktop and how i would like to play on my phone. Of course, the FPS should not exceed 60. The (E) version of MegamanX starts at 30FPS and when i set to %120 it also sets the FPS to 60 and also speeding the ost. Hope i was clear in explaining.
