About NES.emu

Advanced open-source NES/Famicom emulator based on FCEUX 2.2.3-svn, designed and tested on the original Droid/Milestone, Xoom, Galaxy S2, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, NVidia Shield, Xperia Tablet Z, and Xperia Play, but works on virtually any device with similar or better specs.

Features include:
* Backup memory and save state support, state files from FCEUX should work on NES.emu and vice-versa.
* Supports ROM-based games in .nes and .unf formats, optionally in ZIP, RAR, or 7Z files
* Famicom Disk System emulation using .fds files (select your BIOS in the options first)
* VS UniSystem support, push Start to insert coins
* Uses FCEU-compatible cheat files (.cht extension) with editing features
* Zapper/Gun support, touch screen to fire, touch & hold outside of display area to simulate firing away from the TV
* Configurable on-screen multi-touch controls
* HID Bluetooth/USB gamepad & keyboard support compatible with any input device recognized by the OS (MOGA Pro, etc.), Wii controllers also supported if running Android 4.1 or lower, all devices support custom key profiles
* Works in any orientation

No ROMs are included with this app and must be supplied by the user. A number of public domain games/demos are available at www.pdroms.de. Transfer games anywhere to your internal storage/SD card and browse to them from within the app (default SD card directory is /mnt/sdcard).

For anyone using an LG V20, go into the phone's "game battery saver" and turn it on, then go into "optimization by game" and set the resolution for NES.Emu to "normal." After that, open the app and set the frame rate to detect whatever your screen is. Set the skip late frames to "On." Set GPU Copy Mode to "standard." If you're using a Bluetooth controller, turn off mobile data and Wi-Fi or else you'll get input delay. Enjoy!

As always, Robert Broglia made the very best emulators. Try the others platforms too and see for yourself (the SNES emu are free, I recommend try this first). However, I wish someday we'll be able to access saves and ROMs directly through a cloud service (Google Drive, Dropbox, whatever). I have too many android emulator devices and it's annoying transfer files between them.

What the hell happened to the sound? On my Galaxy Note 4, running Marshmallow, the sound skips every 7 seconds or so. I have almost all of the other .Emus installed on the same phone, and the sound is fine on those. My sound settings for NES.Emu are the default ones, and again same as the other .Emus on the same phone. This is an unfortunate blot on what has generally been a spotless track record for the excellent .Emu emulators. Please fix this ASAP.

I've been using this for years, but all of a sudden the SD card location games were not read, so I simply moved it to the device storage, and it resolved that problem. It should be noted that a $5 USB NES controller can be plugged into your phone to be used as the controller instead of the bad on screen display. Super enjoyable for air travel!!

This emu is great like all of Robert's efforts. The only suggestion I can think of would be to add an option to hide the overscan area that you would not see on a CRT television. Some games show garbage on the right and left edge of the picture and its a bit distracting. Other than that I would say it's perfect. I have never had any performance issues on any of my devices.

Unusable. I have .nes roms, but the emulator refuses to find them on my SD card. I've found a couple other emulators that automatically detect them. This one should do the same.

This used to get five stars all around but for some reason I lost the ability to save games and I lost the ability to use cheats I paid for the app so I expect to be able to use all the functions what is the problem either give me my money back or give me the version that I paid for. You can't just take away something that somebody paid for unless you want a nice lawsuit to hit you

Great emulator but has an issue on my Sony Bravia XBR-55X850D where the emulator will crash if the ROM directory is too big which is rather inconvenient since I now have to split up the roms in smaller folders just to play anything.

Good app, but could you update the UI to a kind of android 7 look? It looks really outdated for a paid app

This works fine with nvidia shield tablet, however my Sony bravia there is slowdown and lag. I tried many options, any hints?

Mr. Broglia, I love all of your emulators. They are perfect in every way. Please add VR mode for viewing with a VR headset. Thank you. ????

Typical Robertos emu working, only GUI could be nicer.. Its annoying that forward key is by default on trigger button and its not in gamepad key setup screen, but somewhere hells in wall of text, menu categories are a bit cumbersome and misleading..

I love the .Emu series, I'm however getting choppy scrolling (random) no matter what settings, when playing on nexus player and nvidia shield, apart from this which I'm sure will be fixed with an update. Best emulator out there for andriod Update: New version seems to of fixed a lot of the issues, I find 2x prescale and gpu copy mode to surface, looks great on the Shield tv

X70%

love it, I have a 16gb Nvidia Shield Tv, and I love the fact that my roms can be loaded off of my thumb drive. I find that its not only easier to load games of external memory, but also frees up a lot of space on internal hard drive.,

The main reason I paid for this emulator was to play Famicom disk system. Metroid freezes everytime I take an elevator. Whoops I didn't wait long enough for it to load it takes like 12 seconds to load the next area. So yeah this is a really good emulator.

Won't write to my SD card which is portable and where I need my save files to go. Currently that's not possible and I have to manually back up my saves.

Great emulator and worth the price. Go into video settings to set to auto instead of 60hz to fix input / controller lag if you're experiencing this issue.

Want an accurate NES emulator? Look no further; well-received for a reason. However, retro purists will absolutely be wanting a controller. Old-school techniques do not translate well (imho) to touchscreen.

I consider this my favorite Android NES emulator. Good for beginners AND experts - as it is so easy to learn yet contains many advanced features, and EASILY those considered essentials in the realm of smartphone video-game emulation. 5/5

As stated in my title, I love the .emu series. However, I would love to have the ability to load all roms into one itunes style directory. Have the box art available. I rin these emulators on my Nvidia Shield.

Contorllers dont work on NVIDIA SHILD TV, the only button working is start. I haven't found one game that works, for example Supermario 1, 2 and 3 or contra 3, don work. Don't loose your money if you have a shield tv, and the author doesn't answer to support request from paying customers. I wroite the developer to the address listed here a week ago and no answer yet.
