About GBA.emu

Advanced open-source Gameboy Advance emulator based on VBA-M r1097, designed and tested on the Xoom, Galaxy S2, Nexus 4, Nexus 7, NVidia Shield, Xperia Tablet Z, and Xperia Play, but works on virtually any device with similar or better specs (at least a 1GHz CPU for best results).

Features include:
* High-level BIOS emulation, no BIOS file needed
* Backup memory and save state support, state files are interchangeable with the PC version of VBA-M.
* Supports games in .gba format, optionally in ZIP, RAR, or 7Z files
* Cheat code support using VBA-M-compatible files (.clt extension), don't use any "Master" codes since they aren't needed
* Configurable on-screen multi-touch controls
* HID Bluetooth/USB gamepad & keyboard support compatible with any input device recognized by the OS (MOGA Pro, etc.), Wii controllers also supported if running Android 4.1 or lower, all devices support custom key profiles
* Works in any orientation

The game Motocross Challenge is included courtesy of developer David Doucet. Additional ROMs must be supplied by the user. A number of public domain games/demos are available at www.pdroms.de. Transfer games anywhere to your internal storage/SD card and browse to them from within the app (default SD card directory is /mnt/sdcard).

It's all around great and really easy to use. I don't know how it happened but at one point a bunch of buttons disappeared for no reason. Thought it was a bug but if you go into the On Screen Input Setup it can be easily fixed. I definitely never went into that menu tab so I don't know why it happened but its fixed no so it's all gravy. A+ love it!

Robert Broglia ports some of the best emulators to Android. There are free open source options out there like RetroArch, but usability is a nightmare. The ".emu" series have a clean interface and plug-n-play controller support that easily make them worth the money.

The app worked well for about a week... then deleted all of my game data. At first I thought it was just the empty file directory bug that some other people were experiencing, but when I checked my device's storage, the game file isn't anywhere, nor are any of my save states, etc.

Seriously my favorite gba emulator, I have an original gba and I prefer my phone over real hardware. If there's one thing I can request to make this emulator even more perfect, it would be awesome if you added an L/R button; an option to press both L and R at the same time.

Q70%

Hey Robert, will we ever get the option to change the different save size types? Like from flash 64k to 128k? It's pretty important when your playing the Pokemon games

T70%

Tell me why I BUY this app JUST TO USE CHEATS but after I download the Pokemon fire red game I bought the app for it doesn't let me use ANY DOWNLOADS

X70%

Best emulator. But how do you put on the cheats?? I've downloaded a bunch of games, but for some of them, i need some cheats...

Still trying to figure out how to get cheats. But other than that I love it.

EDIT: Still no working cheats on all your emulators. cheat files will not get detected and manually entered cheat codes are not accepted by the emulators. Please Fix?!! Will rate 5 stars when cheat system is fixed.

Without a doubt, this is by far the best Nintendo Game Boy Advance emulator currently available... Fast, easy to use, compatible with everything and chock full of settings to tweak GBA.emu to your needs - who needs smartphone games when you can quite literally carry hundreds of Game Boy Advance titles around with you? Very, VERY highly recommended!

The reset game option is right next to the continue option and I can't get through a single game without reseting it everyone once in a while.

Used it with an iControlPad and a moga pro over the years and had no problems. Well worth the money.

This app is great once you fix it so the video will show. But other than that amazing. How do I get cheats for some of my roms? I'm going threw fire red version for the 100th time and just kinda wanna walk threw it, how do I get cheats?

N70%
by N####:

It's, without a doubt, the best GBA emulator on the market. However, my only complaint it the cheat code system. It only seems to allow for a single line, when almost all cheats take several lines. Hopefully this gets update someday to allow for cheats with multiple lines to them.

This along with all the other Emulators I own from Robert won't play games properly since the Marshmallow update on my Sprint Note 4. All I get is audio when I load a game no, video, no matter what setting I change, please help..

N70%
by N####:

It is a great emulator on android 5 and below, however it does not work in 6. It claims compatibility and it loads, but it does not respond to touch events. You cannot access menus, nor launch any games! This is true of all of Broglia's emulators. He also does not respond to emails even though support is supposed to be guaranteed when you purchase the emus. I have purchased all of his emulators, none of them work any longer, and he has ignored my support requests.

N70%
by N####:

GBA.emu is by far a great GBA emulator, stable, fast, and good features. Desperately needs Google Cardboard support (as do all Broglia emulators) but otherwise a must have for any collection.

Need to add solar sensor support like myboy! Boktai keeps giving me the "solar sensor is broken" error.

I have an s7 edge too. I messed with the setting for a while and I finally got it to display . First go to (settings) , then go to (Video), then go to (GPU Copy Mode), and then set to (Standard).. That should do it for all galaxy s7' I think

N70%
by N####:

Does not work with marshmallow on Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Only audio works no video

N70%
by N####:

I am not sure if it is a problem on your side or Google's, but it would be nice if it didn't crash on startup on Android N DP3. Other versions of Android work fine.

N70%

Anyone with issues after Android 6.0 update, go to settings>video>GPU Copy Mode and change it from Auto to Standard.

this app works pretty well for me. However i though i would have the same backwards compatibility as a gameboy advance. Unfortunately can not play gameboy color games and will have to download a second emulator

N70%
by N####:

Great app, works with everything I've tried, only downside is that it crashes when I open a Facebook Messenger chat head, or when pulling down the task(?) Bar

N70%

Works well on the Nvidia Shield (TV) after remapping the Menu button. Would like to see a more material interface (though keeping it simple is a good idea). Also it would be cool if the game shortcut functionality worked on the Shield, though perhaps that isn't possible?

I've noticed on all your emulators that when the "skip late frames" option is set to "off" under the video settings it introduces crackling sounds. Please fix in next update (I am using the Gpd xd).
