Carcassonne

Captures Carcassonne reasonably well, AI seems well implemented, though a bit easy to beat, and there's some good expansions. Loses one star due to limited expansions (no Princess and Dragon even!) and another for online play which seems half baked. I hope the lack of news might mean the license going over to the iOS developer and we get the best possible Carcassonne on android.

Works well, fun to play. I didn't have any problems until I realized how the computer players place farmers. The game does not let you place farmers on the side touching adjacent tiles, yet CPs can do it all the time. Let's them score so many points you can't. Make the rules consistent. Both can or no one can. I have lost several games this way.

Good game but would really benefit from multiplayer matchmaking and in game chat and messaging. It's no good if you don't know someone else who plays. Seems like the game is dead as there has been no updates to the news section in over a year. Wouldn't purchase again.

FYI got this game on sale but immediately purchased dlc for 5 bucks... This game scratches a strategic itch. Ai is a bit easy but not broken. Still works as you can play up to 5 ai players so fair mileage for solo play. Played online with my partner and she loves it. Smooth online play if u know ur opponent. Needs more work on ai and some more expansions

I have not played this for a long time. Today when I want to play online the game crash when I want to login with Google account. OK then I'll try email login instead. Nope, don't remember password, so I press forgotten password. I get "this account does not exist". Ok then I'll try register a new account, but NOo, then it says "already registered". So now I'm stuck. Can not log in with Google, cannot log in with email because account do not exist, and can not create new account because it already exists!

Overall, well made game, but the online play could really use some additional features, such as an option for a play timer, chat, and an easier way to find players for something than 2 player base game (currently you only have the option to invite friends on your friend list to play different game types). Additionally, having your win/loss record saved would be nice. Finally, the computer opponents are terrible (even the 3 star ones) and could really use some improvement.

This is a very nice game, didn't have any issue's with it until started playing online. There is no penalty system for players leaving the game before it ends, and many of the older online players take advantage of that. Was in a game, masive cloister built, last tile was mine and would made me win, the other player leaves the game without placing his last tile (mine was after). If I would resign, i would loose, if the game would end normally, i'd win. I'll give 5 * if this is fixed.

Im a fan of the board game so i just got this with all expansions after tweeking the options with no luck the game seems to freez every turn ...take 30sec to play a turn very disapointed would like a refund a this point

I love Carcassonne but this app continues to disappoint: I frequently receive a "No network connection." error when I have a strong wifi signal. When playing the AI, I cannot eliminate the default computer player for a more difficult character and must have a 3 player game. Changing my profile doesn't seem to affect my avatar in live games. Routinely have corrupted online games that must be aborted. I'll keep the game for now because despite the annoyances, I can't always play the board game in person and I keep hoping that a future bug fix will make this the app I wish it to be.

The team developing this game is doing nearly nothing for 2 years. Games like ticket to Ride or Catan greatly improved, their multiplayer mode are much better and they have much more expansions.

Every time I play a multi player game with friends the session gets corrupted and we don't get to finish. Extremely frustrating.

First pay for the game, $5. Then discover VERY limited offline play. Expansion pack adds another $5. Oh and to expand the board it's another $1. Total $11. On top of that it has a lot of unnecessary animations that suck away your battery life. Use power saver to help.

There are a few issues that still need to be worked out. I can't play single player and neither can my friends. Uninstall reinstall, only online play works. In the online play, sometimes games get corrupted and when that happens they get stuck in the list of games being played. I can't get rid of them. Even after uninstalling and all the normal steps someone would take to fix issues like this. Please update and fix these bugs!

Generally plays ok but multiplayer doesn't work well. Was mid-way through an online game with a friend when board went back to showing the starter tile on both our phones, yet our points from the game still shows. We're unable to remove the game from our lists by clicking X or resigning, and now any new online game we start does the same thing and kicks us straight to the leaderboard screen. Pls fix online multiplayer option, will change rating when it works properly.

This is a fairly well implemented version of the board game. Sometimes placing followers or rotating tiles isn't very responsive, but it works well enough. The AI is very weak. I have little experience with the board game, but I have never lost a game against the AI.

I love this game and I usually play against the computer. Just one thing I haven't been able to figure out: howcome the computer player makes so insanely stupid moves in almost every game? It might block itself just like that and get no or few points instead of more, no matter what character is playing. Developers could make for example difficulty levels 1-3 where the computer player could make those brainless self-blocking and no-points moves in the easiest level.

Update- game hardly works at all online now. Wont load or resign. Just freezes. My friends and I all eagerly paid $4.99 for the game and an additional $4.99 for the expansions add on to quickly be sadly disappointed by our games constantly corrupting with so many or few hours in to our games. Also cannot even use our expansion add ons purchased in games with each other, only computer? Very disappointed in these issues as this is the first game I've ever paid for and my free games don't glitch this bad!

This great game spoiled by bad app, for example, why does the game ask you to place a meeple when you don't have any or no where to place and no support for chatting with your opponent.

1. Why does this need permission to access photos and files on my device? 2. Why does this need permission to make calls/use the phone? 3. Our online game was corrupted with error 403 and we had to start a new one. No idea why that happened and we couldn't fix it. 4. Loading screens are a bit of a hassle sometimes - why do you need a loading screen when you are quitting to the main menu? The game functions as you'd expect for single and multiplayer. Provides some nice options and potential expansions for purchase. A fine game, just uses some questionable permissions and could use a bit of polish.

The game is good for practice, but the bots still aren't very bright so they are defeated easily. At least it is good for developing strategy and reviewing the expansions. Also, the programs do deserve credit for being able to program bots like this for a reasonably compact app as they do demonstrate a reasonable amount of strategy.

Great game, I love Carcassonne and I play it as a boardgame quite frequently. This android game is good but the ai is lacking and it gets way too easy after a while, although I still got a lot of play out of it before I got sick of it. It's good there are some expansions available and that you can mix it up playing with upto 5 players against the ai. More expansions would be great :) I also like playing against people online but there needs to be a time limit for turns. Waiting for half an hour for someone to place a role is really annoying!

I'm unable to remove my own Farmers from the board after I've put down the pitchfork crop circle tile. The green tick icon is greyed out :/

When playing online updates are frequently not displayed (you need to quit and join the game to see the updates). And sometimes the game even halts (corrupt session).

I have played the game before, and it is a fun game. However, the app now will not start up on my Galaxy Tab S.

This does a great job of scratching the Carcassonne itch when away from the board game, but I wish there were more expansions, updates, and overall support.

It's been glitchie lately aborded a huge game w 10 moves left! And another game got an error like 10 moves in to it and deleted that one too.... Frustrating you pay for something and then it messes up. Hope it gets fixed bc I like this game.

Why is a paid app wanting access to my phone and contacts? I paid, please do not try to market to me or my contacts. That's the whole purpose of paying for an app.

The AI in this game needs an update. The game is too easy on the maximum difficulty. Add an option for a hard difficulty and I'll give it 5 stars because the interface and game itself is great.

Carcassonne is a good go-to game and this works fine as pass-and-play but more expansions would be required before I would pick this over my physical copy of the game.

Load game and the menu space is blank. Unistall reinstall get one game close app. Open app again and blank menu appears again no option to start game or options. Paid for all dlc to date but unable to use game. Do yu need data or wifi to play? Off line option is a requirement.

Great fun and very addictive. Online would be greatly improved if we could have a rematch button or had choice on how many tiles, expansions etc... Works really well on my htc one.

A really cool game and excellent adaptation. And you don't have bother with counting the points what is really a pain in the *** in the real game...AI in single player isn't really hard, but still OK. Best 2 dollars ever spent...

Hiya, I can't seem to remove the default computer player when starting a new game. Quite disappointing as I wanted to play local with a friend without the computer. Any chance you can fix this?

It was hard for me to figure out at first but I kept at it now I find it fun and can't seem to put it down

I wish the end-of-game scoring would go faster, or provide you an option to skip straight to the final score.

Only complaint is that the AI players aren't very good

Brill old board game, played this on table as a board game, better on tab though, easier and quicker.. Need all extensions though which are not available here. But still a fantastic game. Needs WiFi play...

I've been playing online a lot recently. When I get the notification that it's my turn, I tap on the notification, but it doesn't load up the game. Must be a bug.

The mobile version is true to the board game. If you like the board game you'll like being able to play whenever you want.
