Great visuals blanket a very shallow game in which you basically hit two buttons over and over till you get too slow or hit them at the wrong time then spend gold linearly upgrading your weapon. There's no depth, you just spend gold and hope it succeeds, Each bump in power lowers the chance of success for the next upgrade. Every 10 upgrades you can fully upgrade to a new stronger weapon. Failing an upgrade hurts. It really demoralized me and felt like rng wasted my efforts. Also the dev may have lied, there are no ways to view leaderboards as far as I know. Also, the achievements in the game don't award anything at all which seems like a lost opportunity. To be honest, this is not a full game and should be early access. I gave two stars because I feel with a hand full of updates it could be fun. I like how it isn't an idle game, there are too many of those lately. Its got a satisfying feel to the combat. I love how easy it is to pickup and play in short bursts at your convenience. The all or nothing upgrading mechanic sucks though. You should find a way to always allow the user to progress even with bad rng to prevent rage-uninstalls. Here are a few of my recommendations: 1) Flesh out the sword upgrading by making a talent tree, adding unlockable affix slots, and multiple things to enhance other than just the flat damage. Things like crit, crit dmg, faster % meter during a run, gold buffs, slower timer etc. 2) add drops other than gold. These materials could vary in rarity and usage such as rerolling a failed upgrade, potions for buffs during a game run, converting into item enhancements that add affixes or permanent buffs to the weapon or a talent respect on a skill tree, etc. Options are limitless. These could be the means of steady progress you get in the face of upgrade fails. 3) implement leaderboards! I couldn't find that feature. 4) have bosses every so many levels, maybe every 10, that add slight changes to the button waves, like alternating buttons that require better timing or buttons that require more than one press to cycle to the next one. I hope my review has been a help. I look forward to upping the star rating after some changes.
