The video was very informative and the description says this friday for the app, so fingers crossed. I wish people would stop moaning as we had it with GTA5 with the lack of an app and then it finally arrive and we lived happly ever after. For the time being the web version works very well with my tablet and the keyboard synced perfectly, i even used it as a normal qwerty keyboard on the tablet without a hitch. Lets just enjoy the retro gaming and show folk how great these games were.

Pre ordered the hardware months ago. Finally it arrives, but only a useless holding Android app. Ok, but a month on and still no further forward. Clearly wanted to get some money into their bank, and shipped hardware way too early. I've returned mine. Maybe, if they ever eventually sort it out I'll repurchase. I have a Vaga, and whilst it dosent look as good, at least it works.

My wife got me the Recreated Spectrum as a birthday present. Imagine her dismay to learn that the gift she'd just given me can't be used and won't be able to be for an indeterminate period of time as the target to release the updated app has already passed. At least the bar of Dairy Milk my daughter gave me can be enjoyed now.

Why do we have to have an update for the sack of an update? To use up our broadband? There nothing wrong that needed a update to fix. As for the keyboard, it can't be use with any other emulators! What the heck! It looks like I've made a bad purchase, so it maybe it on it way back soon.

At the end of which month will i finally be able to use this. Going on how late they released the keyboard, I might get to use it at Christmas. Elite pull your fingers out, I'm starting to think about sending it back.......

Initiated refund process with Amazon. For a project that started in January 2014, almost 2 years ago, there is no excuse for not having a working Android app by now. Also, this entire effort is riddled with dishonest marketing -- from the very name "Recreated ZX Spectrum" (it's nothing more than an over-priced novelty Bluetooth keyboard) to the fact that they still advertise on the front-page of their website: "Supplied with FREE ... Android app," misleading new buyers into believing that they're purchasing a working solution. Despite being expensive, I would keep the hardware if it actually worked (it doesn't work with Linux, doesn't work with other emulators like Marvin, and keyboard comes "locked" -- completely unacceptable). Lost cause at every level.

Total waste of a lot of money. Playing on nostalgic feelings is poor marketing. No updates at all. Going to get a refund now.

Unlock using the Web app for now, keep in qwerty mode and use your Specky via usb or bluetooth on your PC with an emulator. Then, when this app is updated it will be great to Chrome cast to the TV. Patience people!

OK, you sell the hardware and take months to deliver the software? And I thought the original Spectrum had quality issues...

OK, so bought the recreated ZX Spectrum for my 80s obsessed son. It's late. Months late. But we're patient, and it arrives - yay! So we download the app...But, hang on, it's not an app, it's a video & a URL. So we wait. And wait. 28th Sept comes & goes, the ZX Spectrum goes back in the box. We're no longer patient. This is close to trades descriptions act territory, and the whole experience is horribly tarnished. Sort it out. Now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dowload MARVIN instead and then redefine the keys. Games are free, work just as well with the Recreated ZX SPECTRUM. This app is just a sales room for games and it's not a very good one at that. Tiny icons leading to details pages that don't even display the game's title. The price isn't shown until the last page either. Ashamed much? Nothing useful like a user forum, tips and tricks page, comprehensive instructions, social media links, links to other content such as videos on YouTube etc. No reviews, no meaningful content at all really.

OK SO I INSTALLED THIS APP AND AFTER LOADING IT YOURE PROMPTED TO PAY FOR EACH OF THE GAMES. SO I PAID AND PLAYED TWO OF THEM AND IT SEEMED FINE SO I THOUGHT GREAT. AFTER I TURNED MY PHONE OFF AND CAME BACK TO IT LATER TO PLAY AGAIN IT WOULDNT LET ME UNLESS I PAID FOR THE GAMES AGAIN. WHY WHEN IVE ALREADY PAID FOR THE GAMES IVE NOT PAID PER PLAY.........

Great fun, but more named save slots would be welcome, Sinclair Basic working well, need to be able to save with program name instead of going into tablet and re-nameing internally, this can only get better. 23/11/2015, have waited some time now, changes need to be made, more named save slots and extra stuff, don't let us down. 10-01-2016--still not able to name programs and still only 4 save slots, any news Steve ???

Having the actual Recreated ZX Spectrum hardware means I can play all the supported games using the web app and masses of them offline via this Android app. Works great on the big screen too when casting my tablet via my Chromecast. 26/03/16 Had to reinstall after having had tablet repaired now all my purchased games are asking to be purchased again the consume option doesn't work so can't play my games and the expensive keyboard is useless to me. Asked for support but still is the same bad place.

I love the hardware for this app but if you reinstall the app all your game purchases will be lost and you'll need to buy them all again. The developers will reimburse you but it's hassle and takes time. Would be easier if they just fix the problem. Unfortunately feels like abandonware now. Fortunately I also have the ZX Vega which doesn't suffer these issues.

I paid for a game and enjoyed the following day wanted to play again and it wanted my to buy again I tried the consume button no didn't work. Maybe when enough people have complained and you get rid of this bug I'll try again :-(

Purchased the Spectrum a while ago, but just got round to trying it, now I fimd out all support has been removed. Complete waste of money.

Tab S doesn't seem to support landcaspe view, even though S6 does but apart from that it's now working fine. Thanks Steve for contacting me.

Please add also adventure games like the ones from Level 9.... we now have a decent ZX Spectrum keyboard to dabble with :)

no good if you already have spectrum games on your device. I'm sticking with Marvin. More flexibility.

Takes me back to the early 1980's! Great fun and easy to set up once you read the instructions.

Finally, the recreated zx spectrum android app,is now finally working. About time too!

Abandonware, does not work properly on Android TV boxes

Playing the old Spectrum games on a replica keyboard is a joy. The app does need more games adding, but I'm sure they'll come in time and the rating will be 5 then.

Still no android app. "Open" keyboard is locked -- completely unacceptable. Will probably return device for refund.

Where are the games

The app only shows you a video about the spectrum or directs you to there website. I have the spectrum, but the online link is slow, when you do get a game to run, it stutters and no sound (manic miner). Maybe the app will improve.
