The researchers developed an android based application called Discover the World: A Mobile Game Application for Capitals, Flags and Famous Tourist Spots in the World. It aims to familiarize users to different places in the world using android smartphones. Survey Questionnaires were distributed to the users to know their opinion and to validate the need to develop the mobile game application. The development was made possible through android eclipse and was tested by Information Technology and Travel experts. With this kind of application the researchers hope to make the users familiarize different capitals, flags and famous tourist spots in the world.
This covers two hundred two (202) capitals, two hundred twenty two (222) flags and twenty four (24) Tourist Spots around the world. The researchers planned how to develop this application through stages. They reviewed similar games related to the study. The study focuses on entertaining the users and at the same time educating them. It helps the users to familiarize capitals of each country. This application also includes the most famous tourist spots or landmarks of the world.
The main purpose of the study is primarily, to design an integrated game combining familiarizing of capitals, flags and tourist spots around the world. It also at the same time seeks, is to entertain mobile Android users. Though this, users are perceived to become familiar with different capitals of individual countries, different kinds of flags, and with the different beautiful land marks in the world. The researchers are aiming for discovering the world by means of entertainment and enhancing the knowledge of users about the different places in every continent.
