Grim Fandango Remastered

Brilliant artwork and enthralling game play. A classic. The story is wonderful and the characters interesting. Sometimes the puzzles can be a little too obscure, however. You almost literally have to try to give every item to every character before working it out. My advice - never be afraid to have a quick look at the walkthrough. The hoy of this game is more about the story and the characters than aimlessly wandering around trying to solve a complicated riddle. Having said that, solving a really hard puzzle of your own accord is extremely satisfying, so don't give up too quickly!

Works with Samsung S8, just need to empty the cache (in app settings - this keeps saves) each time after the first play - the app won't start otherwise. Tip: Pause the game before switching to another app to be able to switch back without needing to empty the cache.

I've adored this game for a long time, I would possibly consider this the greatest game of all time. This version of the game is mainly let down by the controls, which you do get used to, but were frustrating at times. Everything else was as great as ever, wonderful story, glorious music and fun gameplay.

Love this game and so happy I can play on a tablet because it's a million times easier. For anyone having graphic issues (like characters not showing up) go to special features and change it from remastered to original. It is annoying I can't play remastered but this is way easier fix than what you have to do on a computer so I can't complain too much

Problem with galaxy s8, game won't load after saving. You need to clear the data and start over every time (or never close it). Shame, cause I really love this game, hope it'll get fixed soon.

Update: I'm updating my review, if I could go lower than 1 star I would. Unfortunately the game doesn't even work on my new phone Htc u11.. And considering my initial issue with the HTC m9 never got fixed or looked at, I don't think I'll be spending any more money on old game ports by this developer.

Great game and a pretty good conversion, however the game cut scenes aren't visible on my 6P. Update - no update or contact from the developers. Edit- a reset of my phone fixed the cut scene issue.

This game will not play on my samsung s8+. Just ridiculous!

Unfortunately the game force closes when opened. If this could be fixed, everything would be great. (Old review: Perfection at its most perfect.)

Update: still pissed. I figured out that I have to change my screen resolution for my S8+ to the lowest seyting fir the game to work. Super annoying...but it only worked once. Once i closed the game it would not work again, just keeps crashing. Even after clearing cache. MAYBE a higher resolution version could be made or a patch so it works? Or at least mention that for it to work you can't have your phone set above a specific resolution? (Original post) I bought it because I really wanted to play it...loved it as a kid, but I've installed/uninstalled twice on mu s8+ and it won't even launch!!! So disappointing!! I'll give better review if someone will help me fix it And gathering from other comments of s8 users, it probably won't. Waste of my money...

A fantastic port, could use a little bit of touch ups in areas, but it makes me think of the good days on pc.

I loved this game when it came out. Too bad it doesn't work on my 2 devices.

Comfortably the best conversion of any game to a mobile device platform I've ever seen. Worth every penny.

I never got the chance to finish this one years ago, now it looks and plays better than ever. Great music score too and nice touch screen controls. It is pricy, about the same as a couple of pints, but in the end this is better for your head. Works fine on the Z3

Love the game one of my old school favourites but unfortunately the game now keeps saying unfortunately grim fandango has stopped and i can no longer play. After paying for this game im well disappointed guy's. Rectify this for me please would rather have game work than a refund really but u need to sort something.

Can no longer move Manny around. In year 3, after detaching the scoop from the crane, moving to the left side of the island, lowering the chain and getting off the crane. On that screen the game makes an autosave and leaves me stuck. I can still access the menu and the inventory but can't move or click on anything else on the screen.

Abysmal. I've bought a game that won't show the opening clip, instead it's just black nothingness. And I have no way of refunding my purchase because I've tried to get out to work unsuccessfully for too long.

Year 3, in the secret room with meche i took the axe first then dropped it. Then when i realised i have to use it for the puzzle, i couldn't reach it because of the camera angles. So, there is a bug. Please fix it. :(

One of the best point and clicks right here, honestly. Glad I finally got to experience it. Port-wise, it's a bit of a power hog, and it eats up a lot of room on your phone's drive, with no way of moving that extra data to SD storage. Other than that, I had a great time, though I wouldn't recommend buying it for your phone. Buy it if you have a good tablet, or even better, on your laptop.

Works great so far, other than the beginning cut scene is completely black but I can hear the audio, I'm running on HTC m9, please fix this issue, 5 stars if resolved :).... edit: back down to 2 stars, still getting black screen on cut scenes! Will this ever get fixed or did I just waste my money on this?

At this point I'm incredibly disappointed! I've got a galaxy S7 and downloaded the game (after paying) all I get is a black screen. How do I get a refund or get it to work?I hope that developers help me. I will change to 5 stars as soon as it starts playing.

Loved it when it came out, the art and story are still fantastic. It does, however, slice and dice your battery faster than a slap chop. And if you're not initiated with the adventure games of the nineties, you might find it uber hard.

I was pretty jazzed when I heard this game came out for android. . However it crashes on start up and no amount of trouble shooting seems to help.. All attempts to contact the developers has been a complete failure.. I've been trying to reach them for about a month.. I loved "The Cave"..and was happy to support this company.. However I believe this purchase will be my very last from Double Fine.. As they have no customer service. .

So looking forward to this release. I even resisted the urge to use emulation and my (legally acquired!) copy of Grim to support Double Fine. Blank screen..... And that is it on Z5. Really shocking that this is allowed to be released and sold to incompatible devices. Refund please!

I played the original back in the 90's, so I've been looking forward to this remastering since it was announced. The game looks great on my Shield tablet, and the interface is a lot better than the original version. One major complaint: the audio completely shuts off periodically.

Great game. Ran smooth until today, black screen upon loading save, intact audio though. Honestly deserves 5*s but cannot play my $14.00 game. Using LG G4. Will give 5* if reply and give me some advice.FIXED TY

Not a bad job. Back in the day, I used to play this for hours! Runs smoothly on my xperia Z3. Like some of the others guys have said, there's definitely an issue with the audio. Everything starts of fine but if you quit and restart the game the audio glitches will drive you insane.
