Антонимы — это слова, принадлежащие к одной части речи, различающиеся по написанию и звучанию, и означающие прямо противоположные понятия.

Одна часть речи — это еще не единственное условие, при котором слова противоположного значения можно назвать антонимами. Между этими словами должен существовать некий общий признак. То есть, оба понятия должны описывать чувство, или время, или пространство, или качество и количество — и в таком случае они будут являться антонимами.

Примеры антонимов.
Разберем это определение на примерах.

Антоним к слову «Прежде».
Антонимом к слову «прежде» будет являться слово «ныне». Оба слова являются наречиями — «когда? прежде» и «когда? ныне». Оба они объединены общим признаком — описанием времени. Но если слово «прежде» описывает ситуацию или событие, имевшее место когда-то в прошлом, то слово «ныне» относится к настоящему. Таким образом, слова противоположны по значению и являются антонимами.



Антоним к слову «Приветливо».
Антонимом для слова «приветливо» будет слово «недружелюбно». Оба понятия относятся к одной части речи — наречию. Как и требует правило, они объединены общим признаком — то есть, описывают эмоциональный оттенок. Но если слово «приветливо» обозначает радость и удовольствие (допустим, от чьего-то присутствия), то «недружелюбно» имеет прямо противоположное значение — тот, чей вид или речь характеризуются этим словом, явно ничему не рад.

Антоним к слову «Слёзы».
Антонимом для слова «слезы» станет слово «смех». И то, и другое понятие относятся к существительным, оба они описывают эмоциональное действие. Но если в первом случае эмоция явно негативного характера — слезы горя, слезы печали, слезы боли — то слово «смех» означает радость, счастье и веселье. Слова противоположны по значению — и значит, являются антонимами. Let us examine this definition by examples.

Antonym to the word "First."
Antonym to the word "first" will be the word "now." Both words are adverbs - "when? before "and" when? now". Both of them share a common feature - time description. But if the word "before" describes a situation or event that occurred sometime in the past, the word "now" refers to the present. Thus, the words are opposite in meaning and are antonyms.


 
Antonym to the word "Friendly".
Antonym for the word "friendly" to the word "unfriendly." Both concepts refer to the same part of speech - adverb. As required by a rule, they are united by a common feature - that is, describe the emotional nuance. But if the word "friendly" means joy and pleasure (for example, by someone's presence), the "unfriendly" has the opposite meaning - one whose appearance or speech characterized by the word, nothing is clearly pleased.

Antonym to the word "tears".
Antonym for the word "tears" will be the word "laughter." And then, and another concept related to the noun, they both describe the emotional impact. But if in the first case, the emotion is clearly negative character - tears of sorrow, tears of sadness, tears of pain - the word "laughter" means joy, happiness and fun. Words are opposite in meaning - and so are antonyms.
