Erin: The Last Aos Sí for Android
ERIN is a new concept to me, and I've already played alot of games. I know one of its appeal is the pixelated character/monster but i would love to see improvements with the graphics/skill effects. Still this is a real challenging and enjoyable game as it is now. Keep up the good work and pls continue to polish this rare gem!
Old review: A legit good game guys, but it's too slow imo and i hope there's a turbo mode that increase the game's speed by 20% or something. New review: Now the game runs at an acceptable pace after the new update that brings the option to speed up the game arrives. Gj devs, you did good m/
I like it! The gameplay is quite unique: casting spells requires you to complete a pattern and if you managed to perform them well, you would have a neat boost to whatever you're casting. The monsters also have these descriptions which kind of draws you more into the story. Beautifully animated, challenging battles, highly recommended if you're looking for a spellcasting RPG with interesting mechanics.
Wish there was more character based development. The game story and world is rich. Yet the titular character, Erin... Doesn't so much as think to herself. After finishing Samurai Jack... I long to follow a heroes journey in a distant land. But I'd love to know their heart, not just their will.
Erin is a curious game. It is about turn based combats - think Final Fantasy - were you select spells (either from a list or by typing it) and then perform a small timing task to determine the power of that spell. It's weakness is the repetition, where the only thing that varies is the type of the spell to cast. The game also lacks certain things that prevents it to stand out as a mobile classic, such as better (remarkable) music, background variety and a Storyline. In its current presentation, the game plays as a grinding fest so it may bore easily. I hope the designer take a look into this because it has great potential.
I'm having a blast! The rune patterns as a spell shortcut is very handy. I like identifying enemy weaknesses and exploiting them. Definitely going to hunt down every last spell, and hopefully some shoes for Erin. Running around everywhere barefoot all the time, ow!
The game is AMAZING! Its style is so unique, I don't think here's another game with this kind of style to it. I also love he pixelated art, it brings back memories of the old games like final fantasy. Overall, it's great! If there's anything I can suggest, a clear and concrete storyline would be nice. Other than that, the game's PERFECT!
Unfortunately I literally can't get through the explanation, because the font is hardly readable. Seems like a nice game but I'm not gonna spend time trying to make out the words...
This game is very good. I would have given it a full 5 if it wasn't as hard to beat the group's so early on. Other than that great game, keep it going ☺
Erin is a game that just feels so right on a tablet. The spellcasting is fun and rewarding with lots of options to defeat different enemies. You can really tell that Daniel Frank has put a lot of care into making this game unique and a rewarding experience.
Great game! Lots of spells, I love the way you actually have to cast the spells instead of just using them very unique. By the way is it true that at the start you just pixelated a video?
The game itself is quite good :) However, I think that the app icon is not very nice lol. And the font in the game makes me difficult to read the text :/ Those are just my ideas though :)
The main issue I have with this game is it's art style. It's just so pixelated that dometimes I'm unable to even read the text. I know the art style was chosen on purpose but that still isn't enough of a reason to make the text that hard to read and the monsters to look like giant blurs. But besides that the game is fantastic, it has one of the greatest combat systems I've ever seen and just screams creativity. Don't really care bout' the story tho.
I haven't gotten far into the game yet, but the start is promising. It uses a combat system like in Child of Light, based on spell timing and interrupting your enemies while they are preparing for their attacks. Unlike CoL, you actually get to pause before casting, so the game is very relaxed in that sense. I like that. I also adore how you cast spells. Not only are there shortcuts to all of them, which makes you feel quite smart when casting, you also have to complete small minigames to actually cast the spell properly. This makes battle engaging, and you'll find yourself frustrated (in a good way) when you miss that Excellent timing that would have gotten you the kill. The game is Pay What You Want, and it's a pretty, consumer friendly package of interesting combat. Will it become repetitive? Maybe. But so far, I'm very much enjoying my time with it.
The 64-bit style is very well done, especially on mobile. The controls, although a bit to get used to, are interesting and complex. Beautiful game! Give it a try if you like old school graphics and mashing-buttons action.
Energy whip. It ruins the game. If you want to speed through the game then invest all level up points into speed 13 the rest all willpower, and the rest of your points into the energy element. Energy whip is learned fairly early on and damage and stuns the enemies, works on bosses so never fear.
Great game so far! Clever controls and design, nice pixel style. Only gripe is the occasional UI glitch that interferes with casting.
Best spell casting combat system I've seen in a mobile game, hands down. Spells can be cast from a spellbook, or "dialed in" by a sequence of runes. A quick mini game before the actual casting then determines the power of said spell. Meanwhile, you must gauge when and how your foe will attack, choosing a fast spell to interrupt their attack, or a shielding spell to avoid being interrupted yourself. And while I think the map exploration, level design and pixel graphics are mediocre, the core combat game play more than makes up for it. And the pixel intro cinematic?! Wow, I had no idea you could do that with pixels!
Nothing that I found interesting or novel, in the first hour of playing. Cast spells with unintuitive quick-time events. Then do it again and again. Now try a lightning one.
Very in-depth game. Beautiful to look at. Developer lets you pay what you want for the full version. Buy it! The complaints about the game speed are from inpatient clickers.
It's a pretty good game, what baffled me was the pixelated cutscene at the beginning other than that the gameplay is a bit repetitive. Overall good game
Great artistic retro graphics. Unique combat mechanism. Seems quite linear world exploration, but great and challlenging game (at least on hard difficulty).
Very unique gameplay. Controls are easy to learn but difficult to master. Surprising amount of strategy needed to be good at it. Graphics are what you'd expect from 8- bit style. Wish it had more storyline.
Really fun and engaging game. I was a bit hesitant cause I'm not into pixilated games normally but I'm really glad I downloaded this game.
I find this game pretty nice and unique. I also like the pixel artworkand the intro video with the pixellated filter looked awesome. Keep up the good work ;)
Not just a normal turn-based.I love the fact that you just don't cast;you can use the runes to cast them.Pretty fun, I'm loving the hard mode so far.I'll buy the game in the future.
Starts really simplistic but grows in complexity. Truly excellent.
Has unique graphics, really cool game design, but a lacking story. Hope they keep improving it, because this game has so much potential to become great
The combat system is impressive, challenging, and you always have a need to use your spell effectively. Im satisfied with the current update . My suggestion is that you need some more features that is focus on the outside world
This game is awesome. The spell mechanic is awesome how you have to use runes and actually help cast the spell. I'm also doing this for the gems but it really is a good game
Quite innovative and enjoyable so far. 5 stars for the concept and playability. Hopefully going on the game will stay at this quality level.
Nice retro pixel graphics and innovative magic casting control. Not a free game however but you can pay what you want to support the dev starting at 3$.
Far from being a perfect game, this is a game made with passion. A game someone poured heart and soul into making. And a unique experience. It might be a raw one, but it is definitely a gem.
Awesome system, feels like I'm actually memorizing spells
This game is a breath of fresh air. Out of all the games I've played on the Play store, Erin has been the most fun challenge I've ever had.
So far so good! I wish the spell auto casting would be more visible to help me remember them but I'm sure I'll remember them eventually.
Could be bettered by allowing access to the bestiary by tapping on the enemies.
Graphics are basic, but really fun. Lots of tactics and strategy. The way a game should be.
A great game for those who are looking for a great battle mage game and there are too few out there so you have my greatest appreciation so thanks.

The combat is unique and cool. It gets really stale though because there really doesn't seem to be a story and the ONLY thing you do is combat; there's no NPC interaction, no equipment to find, no hidden quests or any objective other than run-swipe-poke, run-swipe-poke. Collecting spells would be more meaningful if there was the potential to combo them, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
