Trench Assault for Android
Over all i give this game 4 stars. It is an amazing game, the graphics while simplistic still have a certain charm to it. The gameplay is smooth and addictive. My only problem i have come across is the gas doesn't appear i select it and the artillery doesn't kill he soliders even though the explosion was right on top of them. Other than that it is an amazing game worth the download. More missions and perhaps a survival mide would be a welcome addition. Amazing game!
The gameplay is simple and immersive. It gives you the perspective of how much commanders are willing to give for victory. But, flamethrowers are short-ranged, gas doesn't spread and it would be nice if one had tge function to send only a few soldiers at a time while others stayed behind.
this is actually a decent game, and it's hard to find a decent game in the playstore. first of all, it's fair. it isn't a pay to win bullcrap and you have the same options as your foe second of all, it's simple. it does not have unnecessary ultra graphics, it only shows you the important events that are happening. third of all, it does not have a difficult algorithm. the way the money grows is understandable and the levels get harder and harder. and last of all, it's really fun. it improves your patience and your critical thinking. its also a bit of a time consumer lol. sorry for bad english, and thanks alot for reading my review!
Great great game but I think multiplayer would be better If finding a server was easierand everything else brilliant love de game play nd idea. Also maybe more units . Also more options eg a cav charge for 80 nd a undermine for 100,maybe building defences in ur trench eg farmers or wire or turrets
Good game and kinda reminds me of old computer games. Only 72 levels of game play but it took me a few days in all to finish the game. Controls are very simple and some levels work your brain every now and then. Would keep the game downloaded for pvp but no one ik plays it. Will download again in the future.
For me. Its the best app store app. Ever but . Could you. Add a way to get more units (like using points you. Earn by beating levels). It. Be cool if you could and can you not have. Artillery shooting you every second I'm not able to build my units tanks For reading this
Deceptively simple gameplay leads you to think it's super easy, but some levels will need more than a few attempts to pass. Great idea for a game though, and really well executed. Only one negative: if you're a commander of British troops, why do you pay out in dollars?
Bogus. The enemy calls in like 10 men at a time, while I can only call in one at a time. They have two guys storm my trench with ten people and I a m completely obliterated. I storm their trench filled with three, and I storm with ten, I am completely obliterated. I call in a gas attack while they have no masks, not one troop dies. They call in a gas attack on me while I have masks, I'm obliterated. Balance this better please.
I love this game. I think they should to add a online multiplayer to add to the LAN multiplayer. I think machine gunner troops that run instead of staying in the trench wluld be cool. I think what the game needs is a morale system. If you have low morale then the game turns the tide against you. If you high morale then you get perks and stuff like more health, cheaper troops, etc
Fun game, but it goes from requiring some thought to win to ridiculously hard. Later levels the enemies have unlimited reinforcements that never stop spawning, and mysterious explosions that take out most of your guys even when you've taken out their artillery. Too frustrating toward the end.
Very good game. Great time consumer. Reason I rated it 4/5 though is because of the limit to the stuff you can call in. Add more artillery, like a bombing run, tanks, napalm strike, and other things. Add more types of soldiers you can call in. Other than that, a.very great game.
It's definitely a strategic ww1 game, it requires intelligence for what troops you want to buy and whether you should assault the trenches and when you should call artillery etc. I'd like to see more death animations, like the normal one for the infantry but with machine gunners there is alot more shots in the body and sometimes limbs coming off, headshots by snipers and stuff. There should also be a tutorial on what troops are suited for. I'd also like to see corpses lying on the ground too. Very good game though it's definitely fun to play, I'd just like a bit more detail though and I'm not talking about graphics at all, just more death animations and corpses on the ground. 8.5/10 just needs a bit more detail in my opinion.
This is an edit. Thankyou for fixing the nearly impossible enemy so now i can atleast progress and finish the game! Im sure everyone knows that the gas is broken. If the gas is fixed and new levels are added ill make it 5 because this game is pretty cool.
Overall I think this game is pretty great. At first it may seem a bit lackluster but once you get familiar with the mechanics (which doesn't take very long) the game becomes more fun. The graphics are good at conveying the glum atmosphere of WWI, however, I think they need to add more shading for a more realistic look. The gameplay itself is good and the levels each bring a different challenge. One thing I think the developer should work on is adding more 'spice' to the game. Things like adding more sides (like Ottoman or American), more troop types and different fronts will greatly improve the game.
Pretty good. Balance seems fair and sometimes patience is rewarded. You can't just spend all your money in case the enemy launches a gas attack, so you have to be careful and think ahead. You won't feel you truly wasted time playing this single player.
For example, I suggested to make the troop numbers flash red to indicate when troops die, it's hard to see the numbers change. If you added grenadiers, you could allow players to clear bunkers & use them, not just blow them up. Different types of artillery like flechette & incindiary. Obstacles to make it more realistic, Although trench warfare didn't start until WW1, you could use this model with Civil War soldiers, Vietnam, etc. Just by tweaking the weapons & scenery :) Back to 4 stars for reading :)
LAN Multiplayer doesn't work yet I guess, I tried playing with a friend but it wouldn't let me, you guess should fix that as well as add more units or even take out how many units you can have maximum since the AI doesn't have a limit. The friendly Mustard Gas attacks can be more effective as well. I hope you take some of these suggestions into account, pretty decent game so far
Not good at all. Intro is live allowing you to lose your first game while "tutorial" is still explaining gameplay. Enemy throws "gas" that is near indiscernable. Undefined requirements for artillery. Deleted after first round. Sorry, dev, just not well done.
Overall very good. But the in the LAN multiple it seems the British have more money. Played 20+ matches using the same tactics for both sides and the Germans got decimated every time. But the campaign is excellent and the core gameplay is very fun.
There is a serious issue involving the limited amounts of troops that can be deployed compared to the opposing side in the campaign levels. This is huge problem if the player can't pushes to the next trench. It's understandable considering what era of war this is but limiting the players budget and how many soldiers can be deployed is messing up the force on force moments between the trenches. Also it would be really cool to add new types of troops for the player to use as well to the ability to customize what troops the player can use.
Good job to the developers for making a fun and challenging military strategy game. I like the LAN feature to play multiplayer, kodos to you guys!. There is a glitch that is bothering me. When i use the gas feature, it starts and a second later stops. Or if it continues it doesn't do anything to the enemies (they don't put on their gas masks).
Great game, sniper A.I. needs work, they'll often pull ahead of your group if you clear the next trench regarless if you move forward or not. Would like to see the "hold this trench" in the middle of future maps instead of at the end, cause you can tell which kind of map you're playing by scrolling ahead and manage your resources to match that, it'd be more fun if it were a surprise. And if I paid for Gas the graphics would glitch and dissapear so I couldn't tell if it was working, so I beat the game without it. It'd be interesting if you worked in an enemy high ground position where it was harder to capture or something that keeps the game interesting for longer, I played the whole way through, but it plateaued by the third level screen.
Great overall game, but I have some complaints, and suggestions. First off all, why does gas just randomly despawn when I use it, and why doesn't it sink into the trenches. Real gas in WW1 was heavier than air, and would flood trenches. Now, I have suggestions. I would have loved to see Mark One Tanks, German Flame Tanks, and more vehicles. During WW1, EVERYTHING was weaponized. Planes were equipped with MGs to fire down at trenches, and bombs to destroy tanks. Trains were armored and equipped with mortars to make suprise attacks, and carry infantry. Saying this, I would love to see some vehicles. Also, the British never used the Flamethrower. It was first used by the Germans during the Battle of the Somme.
Very great game. But it's not that "fair". The enemy have more money and the enemy have a very large range artillery. The higher level we get the higher enemy troop, but we can't upgrade troop. Not really "strategy".
Gas doesnt go past my troops to the enemy. The flamethrower troops are completely worthless, its like paying 80 bucks just for a meat shield. (Please note that with his range. He would be better off hitting them with the flamethrower) i like the game but some of the little things make it less enjoyable. All in all, needs work but a solid time killer.
Love the game but I am a little disappointed with the levels. I completed all 72 missions expecting them to get progressively harder, but that was not the case. On completing all the levels there was no recognition. The final mission wasn't any harder than the others. As someone else said the gas attack doesn't work. With some minor tweaks this could be a 5 star game.
So I'm having problems with using the gas. Most of the time when I use it, my troops put on their masks for a few seconds and then remove them. Never see any gas. However one time I accidentally used gas at the start of a mission and it seemed to work, only killed one enemy and the gas barely passed the first enemy trench. Seems as though it's unusable at the moment. Good game though. Been playing since like 50k downloads lol
This is a really cool game. I find myself playing just this instead of any of my other games. But I think it would be better if you could play multi-player with random people. Also if you could have an infinite mode were you have to see how long you can survive the waves of Nazi's. Other than that cool game!
Good game, fun to just pass the time. My biggest issue with the game is my gas attacks hardly work at all. It will be as if the attack just fails and stops, nothing every happens but it still takes the 120 that it cost me. Fix that and it's a great time killer.
Love the game! A couple complaints tho, first having trouble with gas attack doesn't seem to work and second artillery, enemy arty is way more accurate then yours needs to be tweaked either by making there artillery less accurate or the players more accurate. Other then that great game easy to learn hard to master great job guys!
This is one of the best games I have ever downloaded! I would recommend it because it's so addictive. The only thing I think they could add is more levels. It is a good game even though it is pixelated.
30+ completed levels and the game still does not offer any real challenge or strategy. Just build up your army in your trench, attack and repeat. The type of unit you use does not really matter, just max every unit type out. I would recommend "Trenches of war" to anyone who like these kind of games, "Trenches of war" is also way to easy but at least it's a lot more fun and varied then this game.
I've been fairly addicted to the game but now that I've run through all the missions, I'm waiting for more. It would be nice to upgrade my infantry rifles, or that when I purchase a gas cloud, it lasts longer than a small round of attack. The sniper doesn't seem to be too terribly effective either, getting off a shot every few minutes of gameplay. Other than that, I enjoyed the simple graphics and easy gameplay while waiting on other things during my day.
Needs upgrades and no max solders I would love 2 also command thing like charge fallback and stuff and needs old tanks ad thes then ill give you thelast s5ar butt great promising game
Other than the fact it takes 8 years to build up cash for troops, the game play was fun. Though I am sad there wasn't any kind of light at the end of the tunnel. I just beat level 72 and feel like it wasn't even worth it because I didn't even get like a "congratulations" thing.
Unskippable 40 sec ads after every mission. Enemies generate money faster than you do and can spam soldiers near the end levels. It's pretty grindy just to beat a mission. It's a good time killer, but not a great game.
There seems to be a glitch that you can't use gas attack once past the first few trenches. Other than that, the game is great! Maybe add a few more things, like air strike or tanks or something like that. Nice!
The multiplayer is trash. The britians have obvious advantage over the germans (they are weaker). Also the multiplayer lacks some troops (stormtrooper), and should have higher troop limitation
Cool game but the game play gets repetitive. The same strategy of spamming troops works in every level. It is fun but realistically I wish there was more depth to it. Would be cool if there was a way to manage money.

This is honestly one of the best games that I've played, and here's why: No in-app purchases, same gameplay in all levels with increasing difficulty. There was variation in maps, and game style. I would only change troop control, picking which troops go where so there could be more strategy. Also, change the way your money adds up. Instead of variation between $10-20, go up by ones at the same rate. It's more predictable.
