"The enemies are just monstrous and difficult!" - Rodney Smith (Watch it Played)

In XenoShyft Onslaught players take on the role of a commander in the NorTec Corporation. You're tasked with defending your division of the NorTec base as wave after wave of horrific Hive beasts attempt to destroy the base and end NorTec's strip mining operation.

Gameplay Features

1 - 4 players - Single player compatible, fully cooperative gameplay.

Strong focus on coordination and strategic planning - to overcome the game's intense difficulty players will need to work together.

Xenoshyft is a game for 1-4 players, with each player controlling one of the divisions of the Nortec military: The Science Labs, Med Bay, Armory, Weapon's Research, Barracks and Command Center. Each of these divisions represents one part of the overall Nortec base, and it is your job as Commander of these divisions to protect the base while its field operations are completed.

You and your teammates will have to work together to survive the continuous onslaught of horrors – the goal of the mission is not to wipe out these threats, it is merely to outlast them!

Survive through nine rounds of combat with these horrors and the base will have succeeded in its mission, and you and your allies will have survived to fight another day!

This is a difficult coop or solitaire game. Expect to lose more than you win. Expect to lose sometimes despite doing everything right. Expect that going in and you will not be turned off by being crushed. My only complaint is that the science team is LEAGUES better than all the other team options.

I bought the board game months ago and me and my friends love it, so much that we bought the online version...only to be let down. You can't exchange your 1 xeno (the money) to 3 xeno in wave two or 6 from 3 in wave 3 cluttering your deck. That and you can't take militia, which are free, to fill blanks in your troop line up.

This is a deck builder game that includes all the cards you need to have fun (note decks are built in real-time). It is more polished then I expected. Really having fun with this one :)

WARNING - GAMES REQUIRES YOU TO BE ONLINE TO PLAY EVEN IF YOU ONLY WANT TO PLAY SINGLEPLAYER. Game itself is fun but I'm extremely unimpressed with the interface.

Game is fun but the app just has too many game stopping bugs. My own experience is that you can expect 1 out of every 2-3 games ends with a bug from which you can't continue playing. Even outside the bugs, the UI is designed badly and causes errors in gameplay. For example, cards don't zoom in and out properly at times so that the game goes onto the next combat when you were just trying to zoom out the card and play an item. Extremely frustrating.

If you're into very challenging games then this one's for you. I've played a lot of deck building games but this is the only one I get my teeth kicked in every single game. Out of 20 games I have yet to win 1.

I love the board game, and this is an excellent implementation of it, but it gets buggy at times. Activating a soldier's effect without me pushing the button, which is inconvenient because you can't undo a burn action. Or dealing damage to your base when you won a battle, still had three soldiers up to bat, and the monster didn't have an effect that targeted the base's health. It's still a wonderful app, and I highly recommend it. Put out a patch and I'd say 5 stars.

Plays just like the card game which is great! Solo mode is fine. Hard game to win but that's OK. I play online with a friend in the same room. You need a lot of communication as you can't see what the other players have for instants. It's fun multiplayer but can be glitchy. Several times my friend had a troop that he was unable to deploy to an empty slot during the deploy phase. He would drag it over several different slots and it would just slide back to his hand. Also multiplayer has frozen several times.

One of the better card games out there. Tower Defense with cards.

I seem to be experiencing glitches which tend to occur in the third wave. It generally manifests itself after using an ability or card from hand. After taking the action or using the card, which usually executes fine, I am unable to move to the fight stage. It becomes stuck with no apparent way to move forward or go back. Edit: I have experienced very few glitches recently. At this point, my only qualm would be there never ses to be any online co-op play available.

The game is exactly like the board game, but the user interface needs a lot of work and a pass and play mode would be very useful.

Some of the card text doesn't work, the game is really hard not that that is a bad thing. Clearly the game is a co-op game but when you try to play online no one is on. Imo it's probably why you can control the other locations in solo play, since that's the only way you'll play until there's an actual community.

...to the card game. It's wonky on my tablet, but that's not this game's problem as it's fine on my phone.

The app has issues with game rules. Paratroopers don't always get the chance to equip when deployed as stated in the card text.

A great game but many things to be improved. First you need a full solo mode. Allow one player to control multiple factions as "single player" at the moment is very unfun and difficult due to only having 1 department. Next the UI could be made more user friendly. Zooming and moving around is a true challange, let alone checking cards or piles. If these were improved it'd easily be a 5 stars from me but at the moment it's very average.

I like this board game as well as this app, especially now that they have fixed some bugs that stopped some of the powers from working. I wish that there was player AI so that I didn't have to play solo, because as of right now I have been unable to find people playing online. If the online community grows, this will be a great app.

I already own the game irl but can't always get people to play it. It's not because the games not good it's that it can be a bit punishing. I like that as if it's too easy there's no challenge. The app works really well even on a phone screen, unlike some other card games. They've captured all the elements of the game and it looks amazing. Can't wait to play again and hopefully win one soon.

The update made the game much better. Loading time is vastly improved and now single player can control multiple departments. I have yet to win, but every game gas been fun so far. I may purchase the physical copy as well. I love the artwork.

It's Pandemic meets Star Realms - punishing cooperative deckbuilding that sci-fi fans will definitely enjoy. I highly recommend it.

Great game. Solid mechanics and slick interface. Still has a few bugs (previous version was much worse), but I am encouraged by the progress of the developers and am confident all bugs will be resolved eventually so 4-stars for now.

I normally don't pay $5 for a game but this looked promising and I was interested in the board game but unfortunately I can't get farther than the title screen. The game boots me every time it starts initializing the decks. I have reported the issue but haven't seen any updates. Disappointing.

There are a few bugs that really hurt gameplay such as not being able to select from your discard pile when needing to and also the app really eats up some battery life. Optimize.

How is no one talking about this? Yes the interface feels a little clunky, but the biggest complaint I have is that you can't save your progress in solo games. This means you have to play the whole thing in one sitting. Perhaps there is some magical way to save that is eluding me? Other than that, the game is a lot of fun. I'm not sure how much I'll play it, though, if I can only play when I have 30 minutes or so on my hands.
