About First World War: Western Front

Conflicts: WW1 Western Front is a huge turn based strategy game set on the Western Front of the First World War.

You are in command of the German armed forces - generals, infantry, cavalry, artillery and the first tank units - and the object of the game is to conquer the strategic parts of France as quickly as possible.

This is a huge game, and if you haven't played games from the Conflict-series, you may want to start with Operation Barbarossa or D-Day before taking on the Great War of 1914-1918.

If you want to test the strategy game and its mechanics, a free 15-turn version is available at: http://bit.ly/1aq3rlx

Highlights:
+ Tactical Areas/Move Points: Some hexagons are connected together forming slowly evolving Tactical Areas, and you can move between such hexagons using Tactical MPs instead of regular MPs. This opens up a completely new tactical dimension.
+ Economy & Production: You decide how to use the industrial resources that you capture: Build railway networks, produce Rail MPs, manufacture minefields, etc.
+ Railway Network: To navigate the huge game area efficiently you need to plan where to build railway network.
+ Mud: Areas which see lot of troop movement and battles will turn into mud, which might consume extra move points, so you cannot get bogged down on the war of attrition if you want to keep the front lines advancing.
+ Generals: Generals support the closest units in battle at the cost of 1 MP, while the front line units located too far away from Generals might lose 1 MP.

FEATURES:
+ Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the game's smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.
+ Competitive: Measure your strategy game skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.
+ Experienced units learn new skills, like improved attack or defense performance, extra move points, damage resistance, ability to cross rivers without losing move points, etc.

+ Good AI: Instead of just attacking on direct line towards the target, the AI opponent balances between strategic goals and smaller tasks like encircling nearby units.

+ Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of houses), decide what is drawn on the map, and much more.

+ Inexpensive: The entire WWI western front for the price of a coffee!

In order to be a victorious general, you must learn to coordinate your attacks in two ways. First, as adjacent units give support to an attacking unit, keep your units in groups in order to gain local superiority. Secondly, it is rarely the best idea to use brute force when it is possible to encircle the enemy and cut off its supply lines instead.

Conflict-Series has offered highly rated Android-only strategy games since 2011. The campaigns are based on the time-tested gaming elements TBS (turn-based strategy) enthusiasts are familiar with from both the classic PC war games and legendary tabletop board games. I also want to thank the fans for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much higher rate than what any indie developer could dream of. if you have feedback about the Conflict-Series please use email, this way we can have a constructive back and forth conversion without all the limits of the store's comment system. In addition, because I have huge number of projects on multiple stores, it’s just not very sensible to spend handful of hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if somebody has posted a question somewhere -- just send me an email and I will answer to it as soon as I'm online. Thanks for understanding!

PURE GARBAGE! I'd give it a zero if I could. Joni's most recent updates have made this game so difficult, you can't even play on the easiest levels. I've spent over $40 on his games, and I feel cheated. I'd sue to get my money back, cause from the time I've bought this game, until now, it was a great game, very competitive. Now, it's catered to only expert players. My most recent conversation with him says people are breaking records on the normal and hard levels. You should've thought of that before, Joni. Leave well enough alone, and let all the players of all levels decide what's best for this game!

Good game. However i just realize that the allies seems to have no artillery, cavalry units, planes, and the most important one, tanks. Historically, these are the weapons that defeated germany. The game doesn't feel challenging at all.

For a paid game I kinda expect a difficulty slider, and a option to switch sides allies or German, Also there's no real video tutorial which is pretty unacceptable considering there smaller delevopers than you who make games that have better graphics all the features I said this game should have and no donation page up my face. im sorry but until you add a proper tutorial for this thing a switch side option I feel like I've been ripped off and on top of that you have a donation page... so not only is this thing paid but you have donations so what's your excuse if you don't add in a tutorial so I can relies why some units don't move some turns and other they do i can't enjoy the game which makes me less likely to but your other products

I will have to delete this one too, I just do not like the direction he is taking. I may be in a minority, but I just cannot get my head around this one.

Great game. Unit selection and the UI need a little work, but nothing serious.

Love it, but could you please add an allied campaign into the app? Also a ww1 eastern front game would be really cool.

Getting stuck in the mud is so much fun! How funny to say that haha. The normal difficulty felt just right (I've never played Joni's games before). Finally an Android strategy game that has actual strategy and not stupid "gems" and "coins" and brain-free gameplay. It's easy to play a turn or just a few moves every now and then when you have time. I like the unit homogeneity too, it makes you really appreciate every unit you get.

Absolutly love this game. There are no other tbs games for ww1 that I am aware of. Thanks for making this a quality strategy game. Would love to see the same care and considerations applied to crafting a Vietnam war strategy game.

It has taken me about three weeks (on and off) to finish this game. I have played just about all of these Conflicts games too. Like the Field Marshals of the day I felt all of the frustrations of static warfare. As one other comment put it "fortress after fortress..". When I finally broke through my cavalry were already dead so back to the battle of attrition. Like the real generals it took many different evolving strategies before I finally won. Without trying to be a spoiler: Where the other Conflict games was about encirclement this one is about supply. You will work it out. Enjoy - I certainly did. JC

Very challenging, fun game. The game does a good job simulating trench warfare, but still maintains an element of mobility with the use of rail movement and tactical movement points. Airpower, leaders, early armor, mud, strategic production are included.

Enjoy playing each update. Reminds me of the good board games I wasted many hours playing with my friends. AI is good, the game doesn't attempt to win by simply creating new units. Each revision improves the game. Highly recommend.

What more can I say. This is a good old fashioned turn based strategy game. There are no easy shortcuts to winning. I can't recommend this game highly enough. Easy for a complete novice to pick up hard enough to keep the most experienced player engaged. Keep up the good work Joni

The classic 'war to end all wars', completely customizable and in your pocket. Customize the board with numerous preferences, then go at it, making it as challenging or as simple as you like...you get out of the game what you put into it. Try new tactics, fool around or really dig in and bash it out, turn by turn...grinding it out just like they did in 1914. Don't sit on your pickelhaube!

Joni's games are either at their best or worst with the 'big picture' titles like this and Eastern Front (really good) or Civil War (nonsensical) and, sadly, American Revolution (although I haven't checked out the updates). I really like where he's taken this one, and he's the only guy out there with the historical insight to attempt this era. Otherwise I'm waiting on a pure naval offering and playing some of his competitor's stuff whereas I used to snap up everything Joni put out the day it dropped.
