Iwo Jima 1945 for Android
I like this game very much. It forces you to be tactically sound- if you are over aggressive, your troops will get cut off and encircled. The shrouded areas lends to the "fog of war" where you don't know what lies ahead of you. My one complaint is that you only have two view options for the map, zoomed in or zoomed out to show the whole island. It would be helpful if you can manually adjust the zoom level so you can view the map at the level you want.
Very good game, a version of which I first played on my Spectrum! I just love this game, especially how easy it is to just pick up, when I have a spare ten minutes! Highly recommended.
Great Hex Based Strategy Game
Probably best in conflict series so far. new features amazing. Would love to see more navel or carrier battles such as coral sea.
Pleasantly surprised, early turns don't take an hour. Just started tho Joni always has great depth. Value, realistic true war games. Finally getting past pretty steep learning curve .
I am really impressed how Joni treated the nuances of the Iwo Jima campaign. The cave system added a good twist to the tactical consideration. Also, the ability to shift units battlefield roles (using NCO) resources added another entertaining aspect to this grinding campaign. I have bought several of his games and I just want to add one suggestion here to add the ability (make it an in app purchase) on future updates to allow me to play either side when starting a new game.
Tired of dashing around Europe? Try the South Pacific for a realistic change in scenery. Loaded with the usual myriad options, but designed with the islands in mind. This game gives you a taste of what the Marines went through. Try differing strategies to beat the enemy, making the game last as long as you wish. Another fantastic creation, thanks!
Great turn based conflict game. Very similar to Avalon Hill games of my past. Very playable on my 7" tablet. Well worth the $. Best of this genre that I have seen so far. Great work.
Have most of Joni's games. Awesome game play and well put together. The couple of bucks is nothing and you'll have hours of fun. Try some of Joni's others...you won't be disappointed.
This guy makes a mean strat game. Have most of them and they are all good investments. Thanks for the fun Joni.
Addicting
As a former infantryman and an avid strategy gamer, I've had nothing but fun playing this game. It has been a little glitchy on my Casio commando but I just reinstalled it. The ability to change tactics for static defense or transistinning into maneuver is awesome. Also being able to request resources is another great asset. Freaking outstanding!
A great addition to the series, proving once again that Joni's outstanding wargame engine can be adapted to virtually any scale and setting - and this one is certainly unique. It's not as difficult as some other games in this series, and not the easiest starting point - but from naval support to cave fighting to unit tactics, it's packed with great features and provides deep, challenging gameplay worthy of a true wargame. Highly recommended!
Joni gets better and the games get better. New naval elements added a distinct plus! Clearly, the best of the Conflict Series, so far.
Frankly John Tiller has stolen a march on Joni as much as I hate to say it. When Conflicts was all there was on the market, I devoured them all, eagerly snapping up each game (full paid versions only). But the theaters and the engine have become routine (Kursk I couldn't even be bothered to finished and as thrilled as I was to see Iwo Jima, it quickly turned out to be D Day redux). It's all the same game unfortunately. And the Civil War entry sealed the deal. Routinely I captured every city on the map. Sad.
Great game so easy to pick up but bloody hard to win keep it up it just gets better

Another great game. Would like to see battle of Crete. Thanks much.

Another hit. A few surprises. My favourites are D-Day and Rommel, and now this.
Another hit from Joni with his dedication to producing old school wargames using the best of modern technology. A must for any wargame enthusiast.
I love the addition of the ncos and tactics. I also enjoy that the units are at the battalion level. I would love to see this applied to a game in the style of panzer missions.
The best war strategy game in the play store!
Way to go, another great game under the conflicts banner!
Joni does it again!
I have most of the titles by Joni and I love them all. Each are different in their own right and have unique challenges that surprise me each new game I download. This app asks for nothing but a couple of dollars and gives hours of entertainment in return again and again. Thanks Joni for bringing simple cheap pleasures back to my pocket instead of taking from my pocket like so many of the others.
The damned caves caught me by surprise but great game. Loved it.
A welcome addition, its fun and challenging but not too much so, I am glad to see the Pacific added to the conflict series and ships are a good addition as well, they work well in my opinion, please make more!
An interesting addition to the series, which will delight aficionados of real wargames.
