Conflicts: Battle of Guadalcanal is a turn based strategy game set on and around the island of Guadalcanal in the Pacific theater during the Second World War.
You are in command of the first major American amphibious offensive in the Second World War, aimed at seizing the island of Guadalcanal on which Japanese are building an airfield. You must use your naval forces to secure the constant flow of reinforcements and supplies to troops on Guadalcanal, while trying to prevent Japanese from doing the same.

The real challenge in this one isn't the combat. It's keeping your army supplied so it can fight. The naval game is great, trying to keep your destroyers fueled and in a fighting position takes a lot of skill. Plus the fact that the fuel tankers themselves require fuel makes it even more challenging.

Much more playable with changes to add more supply units. In early version Japanese would win even the very easy level due to US units being starved of sufficient supplies.

Another excellent addition to the Conflict Series. Logistics plays a major role in this battalion-level simulation, in more ways than one. Be prepared for a very hard slog, even on Easy, and keep an eye on your supplies: running out is a bigger threat to your troops than the Japanese.
