About Eastern Front: Conflict-series

Conflicts: Eastern Front is a huge turn based strategy game set on the Russian Front in World War II.

You are in command of the German WWII armed forces - generals, tanks, infantry and air force units - and the object of the game is to conquer the Soviet Union as quickly as possible.

This is a huge game, and if you haven't played games from the Conflict-series, you may want to start with Operation Barbarossa or D-Day before taking on the Eastern Front. If you want to test the game mechanics of Conflict-Series, a LITE version of Operation Barbarossa is available for free.

What's different in Eastern Front compared to Operation Barbarossa:

+ Scaled up: Larger map, more units, more panzers & Waffen SS, more cities... Now you can finally outmanoeuvre more than just couple of units to form über-encirclements.

+ Tactical Areas/MPs: Some hexagons are connected together forming slowly evolving Tactical Areas, and you can move between such hexagons using Tactical MPs instead of regular MPs. This opens up a completely new tactical dimension.

+ Economy & Production: You decide how to use the industrial resources that you capture: Build railway networks, produce Rail MPs, manufacture minefields, fuel, etc.

+ Railway Network: To navigate the huge game area efficiently you need to plan where to build railway network.

+ Generals: Generals support the closest units in battle at the cost of 1 MP, while the front line units located too far away from Generals might lose 1 MP.

FEATURES:

+ Historical accuracy: Campaign mirrors the historical setup.

+ Long-lasting: Thanks to in-built variation and the game's smart AI technology, each game provides a unique war gaming experience.

+ Competitive: Measure your strategy game skills against others fighting for the Hall of Fame top spots.

+ Experienced units learn new skills, like improved attack or defense performance, extra MPs, damage resistance, etc.

+ Good AI: Instead of just attacking on direct line towards the target, the AI opponent balances between strategic goals and smaller tasks like encircling nearby units.

+ Settings: Various options are available to alter the look of the gaming experience: Change difficulty level, hexagon size, Animation speed, choose icon set for units (NATO or REAL) and cities (Round, Shield, Square, block of houses), decide what is drawn on the map, and much more.

+ Inexpensive: The entire WWII eastern front for the price of a coffee!

In order to be a victorious general, you must learn to coordinate your attacks in two ways. First, as adjacent units give support to an attacking unit, keep your units in groups in order to gain local superiority. Secondly, it is rarely the best idea to use brute force when it is possible to encircle the enemy and cut off its supply lines instead.

Join your fellow strategy gamers in changing the course of the Second World War!

Conflict-Series has offered highly rated Android-only strategy games since 2011. The campaigns are based on the time-tested gaming elements TBS (turn-based strategy) enthusiasts are familiar with from both the classic PC war games and legendary tabletop board games. I also want to thank the fans for all the well thought-out suggestions over the years which have allowed these campaigns to improve at a much higher rate than what any indie developer could dream of. if you have feedback about the Conflict-Series please use email, this way we can have a constructive back and forth conversion without all the limits of the store's comment system. In addition, because I have huge number of projects on multiple stores, it’s just not very sensible to spend handful of hours each day going through hundreds of pages spread all over the Internet to see if somebody has posted a question somewhere -- just send me an email and I will answer to it as soon as I'm online. Thanks for understanding!

Only Joni N. could have done this. Fantastic. And remember: offline play AND you never pay after you buy the game. Entire "Conflict Series" is amazing!

It's very tactical a lot more compercated than world conquer 3 and games like that.

I enjoyed earlier versions but latest changes to fatigue are so unrealistic to make me stop playing. SS unit sported by two inf and one panzer turn one attacks one Russian unit not behind river or in forest, after two attacks SS unit has 100% fatigue? Explain that.

Great game John. Thanks for the timely updates and all the hard work you've put into this app.

Otherwise, awesome game!!!

W70%

Hex based similarity to other wargames great. Promotions unrealistic as they should be instead seasoned, trained, veteran, elite. Your equipment would dissapear after some use - which should be reflected by supplies/ammo. Pontoons should not disappear after use as engineers would reuse the equip in real life. Manpower should be reflected as recruitment is a major war activity. These fantasy promotions seriously detracts. It has a potential framework for grognards but it still needs work.

I enjoyed this game very much. Simple enough to play on your spare time, complex enough to keep you thinking.

This is I feel like the best series you have and this is the only game I will be buying from your series but the one thing I would love thats keeping me from putting 5 stars is the country selection why can't we play as Russia or other games we can play as the enemy I feel like its limiting the fun in this game and another thing is where is Sweden or Finland can you make land provinces but not part of game to make it feel realistic geographically speaking. I hope to see further updates with maybe the improvement of the Caucasus region but over all its simplified, until its a very nice little game I hope to see either a reconstruct of the game a bit with land or even perhaps another separate game of the eastern front even better than this one which I might consider

Some really nice features like fatigue and a competent AI, but the lack of ZOCs and curious rules around territorial control make it tactically unsatisfying. The game is all about penetrating ever porous enemy lines to surround them while avoiding being surrounded yourself. Lack of info about combat odds is exasperating. Addictive but not the wargame system I am looking for.

T70%

The best I have played. Highly wired in dept controls keep you gripped round for round in one of histories greatest possible rewrites. For the true arm chair generals.

Very nice game. The addition of artillery, ability to purchase reinforcements, cancel move button, expected results display (Panzer General), and other additions would make this game perfect.

Fantastic game! The game is immense, complex and just plain fun!

T70%

Game is only one I've ever purchased for myself, well worth price. The last update seems to have broken HP mp resource adds - it's always too close to enemy...

X70%
by X####:

I loved Panzer General but this game goes far beyond that. Your campaign is conquer Russia... go. Maybe i am missing something but there seems to be no way to save the game, meaning you have to live with your mistakes, which makes it a lot more challenging. Figuring out how to apply resources to units is a bit complicated. It would be nice to have an option to apply resources from the unit itself rather than going to the main menu. Also, clicking on the mini map should take you to a spot on the battlemap.

This is the besvt money I ever spent on a game I've gotten more enjoyment out of it, more challenge and more fun just playing this game than any other. I wish everything in my life had the same value to cost ratio as this has had for me. This is just a great big, game.

I grew up on Avalon Hill board games. This has provided me with hours of fun. Great series of games! Keep it up!

Much like the Avalon Hill board games, love it! Wish I could play the soviet player tho. As for the undo feature- id bet Paulas and Vlassov wanted one too... How many Axis units bugged out at first sight of a tank or a division was pulled out of the front and sent nowhere by Hitler? Developer actually responds to inquiry in a very proffessional manner! 6 stars, by far my favorite app on my device.

Definitely the most challenging of the 6 that I've bought in this series. This one was the most fun & took the longest to finish. Well worth the $. I like the option to buy & lay railroads for faster supply over vast Russian territory. Most in depth one & fun one of the series yet. More units avail. Makes it better than previous versions. I love how this game always opens fast & never crashes or loses saved progress. Just wish had option to stay or take area after winning battle. Great game overall!!

There's no more unit tally but it's still a good game.

I don't care for the newest update. How can the Red Army surround me when their units aren't anywhere near my flanks? Suddenly all my unit's from Kharkov to Sebastopol were surrounded as if ghost units did a huge encircling movement. And kinda dumb as to how the Partisan units always beat the Axis units, even if they are equipped with nebelwerfers and special orders. As well as it doesn't seem to have the option to turn off the airfields and the SS are only black shields now, the older one was better.

How many Axis units bugged out at first sight of a tank or a division was pulled out if the front and sent nowhere by Hitler? Id like to see Europe 1780- 1815. Hate the new random encircling of units, I don't see a historical context with losing control of a city and widespread loss of territory. If units could regroup in cities again I can agree with

This used to be so good, don't like the new encircling element though, whole areas swallowed up by nothing

What's the idea behind the random rapid movement of Russian unit that suddenly in one turn can cut large area. This introduce very random factor that makes planning campaign subject of draw of luck.

Great turn based wargame like the Avalon Hill games. Includes Weather, mobility, air power, units gain experience and skills. Historically accurate. Variable set up, and a good AI makes the game highly replayable. This game is a lot of fun. A classic wargame.
