After ages of wondering if we were alone in the Universe, confirmation that we were not came suddenly, when one of our two fledgling colonies, a world called Eve, was destroyed without warning. Decades of peace had left Adam, the remaining colony world, without a military. Without time to await forces from Earth, a militia was formed to combat the alien threat.
Engineering vessels and taxi shuttles were retrofitted into makeshift fighters. Young men and women, eager to protect their world, signed up to fight. One former taxi pilot, known for exceptional flying ability, proved invaluable in the battles that would follow.
