Mix this one in with your other tools and exercises, you'll be better for it. I bought the paid version pretty quickly as I could see that I'd be using the app, and the flashing ads are distracting.

The demo version has achievements and leaderboards, but the paid version does not.

Disappointed, I pay for the ad-free version and I loose a feature (Leaderboard/Achievements). UI gives no option to analyse the problem like ChessTactics.

Excellent selection of tactical situations. A lot of the solutions are not completely played out, so you end up going to Analyze This which makes you actually work some variations out. Great job!

Good, simple, straightforward app with no bells and whistles (like the ability to change board or piece style), but with no crashing problems and consistent, challenging puzzles for each level. Edit: this is now the third time I've been asked to rate the app since I posted my rating earlier today. Starting to get annoying. I'll put the stars back when it stops.

The puzzles are well thought out. The difficulties seem appropriate to the ratings. I would give it five stars if there was better offline access.

The puzzles are great with accurate difficulty settings. And it has a great layout that's easy on the eyes. You occasionally see mistakes and phantom pieces, but it's rare. This could easily store extra puzzles for offline use but doesn't. This app's greatest potential would be with adding immediate reinforcement by showing a rating change on the display. Further, it could integrate reward systems such as achievements for streaks.

It's hard to put this away! The difficulty curve is pretty consistent. I end up learning something new with every session. I like being able to check my rating/score. It'd be nice to have a stack of these puzzles cached offline for when I'm traveling without network access. Otherwise, it's perfect for what it does.

I would rate 5 stars if it showed you last move of the other player before you decide your move. But. Anyway it's a very good App
