The Music Practice Box is an open ear training tool for musicians, students and professionals, with a total hand-free game design, no sheet music to read and no buttons to press : it is all about listening and playing your instrument and singing. The Music Practice Box detects what note you are playing thanks to the phone's microphone and a pitch tracking algorithm. Playing with the Music Practice Box will reinforce the connection with your instrument, while improving essential ear training & theory skills to play music, sing, improvise, transcribe, compose, etc.. Good idea but i play bass and the app doesn't recognize the notes properly. On the lower pitch it doesn't recognize anything at all, and if i play below 12th fret it will recognize a bit better yet sometimes say a good reply is wrong and a wrong reply is good. Very frustrating. If you improve notes recognition I'll give it 5 stars.

Thank's for making this great app. Only thing I would change is the range. Playing in the right octave is very important! Please add a couple more octaves up and down if posible.

It works alright a few times and then it starts giving the answers automaticaly...even if I don't make a sound...has this happened to anybody else?

This is a great app - I look forward to seeing it develop. It would be great to be able to see how close I came to the right note - am I singing just a bit flat or sharp, or am I simply on the wrong note.. Maybe also this could be a setting (advanced mode=less tolerance for being a few cents off)

Whether I sing or play it out, it teaches me where to go. Definitely something good to use to refresh on some things musically.

Simple and enjoyable. I've only recently started using it, that being said I don't know to what extent it helps with ear training but I do believe I have improved a bit.

Simple and works really well for practising dictations with an instrument or by singing. My suggestion would be to add the option to display scale degrees and movable do as note names.

Dear developer, thank you so much for this wonderful app. It has so many great features! And I love it that the practice mode is hands-free, so I can practice while doing the dishes. :) A beautiful idea for an app, I think more people should know about it and use it!

Would be a terrific app for ear training if I could adjust the sensitivity of the mic and the sensitivity of the tuning. Unfortunately that's not an option right now but once/if it gets added I will definitely re-download.

this app will put paid ear training apps to shame. just add some mic calibration and ability to hear the notes when you press the circle and it would be perfect.. anyways thanks for this app.

I enjoy learning with ear training apps and practice songs on YouTube. This is rather unique since it gets me ear training while finding the note on my instrument. It would be nice if it also confirmed the note name when I got it right, since I occasionally get confused about which note I really hit. But irregardless, this is the best way I've found to develop these connections.
