Choice of the Star Captain for Android
Brilliant
Entertaining read :)
I've hit the part with Tasker and numerous times Tasker is referred to as 'her'. But in the dialogue Tasker is referred to as male by characters going "yes, sir". Just thought I mentioned it kind of takes away from immersion trying to keep reiterating to myself that Tasker is a female..
I've only played through on so far and I find the story enjoyable and very engaging. Keep up the good work.
Story was fine the first time I played like a year ago (especially since this was one of, if not the first CoG gane I played). Now I tried playing again because I had basically forgotten the story. Realize now that the story is so linear I can't even be bothered to finish. I said I wanted to be a smuggler dammit, so why am I being drafted into the army when I clearly failed all my tests? Just kick me out and let me do something more interesting. I understand that there needs to be some story, but I've played more linear games that are more interesting than this. This is especially frustrating seeing as you start off so free, but lose all freedom by the second chapter. You should have just started off going to join the army, that way it screws you over less when you can't do anything else. There are just not enough relevant choices or emotional connection to anything. There are virtually no meaningful relationships other than Lloyd. That said, the writing was decent and the dialogue with Lloyd is funny, if you can get past how god damn frustrating he is (In my case he stopped being funny after the first playthrough).

I enjoyed and laughed at certain parts of the game. The writing made me overlook other things, like linearity. It was enjoyable.
It was long enough but the story doesn't really change. Not worth replay

Lloyd, you are a pain in the butt...
Getting bored after a while.

USED to work fine & I played it over and over, then I updated the app & now it won't run. Sent the dev. A report 5 min. Ago, they need to either fix it or start offering refunds... I hate it when this happens...
One of the few actually good "Choice of" games. I definitely recommend it.
It was okay. . . Not the best from CoG.
Cant wait to play this game but it wont start, its just stuck loading and i hope it is fixed soon so i can play another choice games
The update fixed my issues and everything works. A great and fun story, well worth the money
Fixed
It was a good game, liked it but I was kinda thinking it would be like Broadsides but futuristic, of course I liked the story but was kinda linear for my taste and the stats I didn't ready like. Overall, it was all right but not one of their best
I played the demo and i just LOVED it.
I really enjoyed this interactive story!
Fun word-type adventure game! A bit too linear, but perfect in every other way! I also love the computer! Great game! Worth the price, totally!
The characters have distinct personalities, it's very humorous, the dialogue is engaging, the plot is amazing, and the writing is eloquent
I thoroughly enjoyed this app & would recommend it to anyone looking to recapture the feel of old gamebooks & CYOA novels. The story is well written, original, & very humorous. Compared to similar apps it has a far better standard of English (i.e. it has actually been proof-read & edited), provided an ample amount of content for the price tag, & had less scope to randomly kill the character requiring a restart. Linearity is its only (slight) fault.
I would say that the strong points of this piece are its clever humor, good writing, interesting characters, and its length. There's plenty of laughable moments, but I never felt like it was too much. The story was engaging, with well thought-out choices. I am very much a fan of Loyd, it wouldn't be the same game without him! I've run into a few game-books that were disappointingly short, whereas this game was long enough to develop a good story. The only big thing I have to say against it is this - the plot is very much linear. Not that it is a bad thing, first time through, but it doesn't make it very re-playable. That being said, it is definitely worth the purchase, as a clever and well written piece of work.
It was a fun game to play through, but I definitely felt railroaded through the game. I understand that, most of the time, a choice in a game is pretty much an illusion of choice (a la The Walking Dead or even Mass Effect) but this game didn't always do a great job of keeping up the illusion. The characters were interesting though, and I liked the various outcomes at the end. A good story that could've benefited from some extra options and more interactions with characters, and perhaps even a romance subplot.
Ended my first playthrough with the first three choices of the game and laughed so hard it made my day, immediately making this app worth every penny. I'm a fan of CoG and their work is stellar, I highly recommend this and all of their other apps! Keep up the good work, guys!
Every aspect of the story is dull an uninspired. No cool tech, no fun characters, next to no action, and super predictable plot.give this a miss until they try it again.
Yet another great Choice Of game. Funny, a clever story, meaningful choices, fun characters, and good length. Looking, forward to future output from these guys.
This was fun, but not great. It's not that the game was too linear... I don't mind linearity, but really not much happened. More small scale encounters and opportunities to make caption esq judgements calls would have been nice.... This just felt a tad rushed.
It was long enough I suppose, however this one was just...felt too linear? I can't quite express why I didn't enjoy this one as much, I found it annoying that you are only given one scenario to use each chosen trait, [i.e. if your fitness is high you have one opportunity to shine, then that is it.] No disrespect to the writer, as I know they took the time to write out this storyline, but since I paid thought some constructive criticism couldn't hurt. Thanks for the entertainment.
very well written scifi adventure
As always, a great game from Choice of Games. A bit short but captivating.
Haven't finished it but as far as I know its I very...dull? Its too linear and not nearly as gripping as any of the other choice of games. Unfortunately this is the first to not grip me on the first chapter and continually fail to do so even up to chapter 9. Hopefully this is the first and last negative review I have on a CoG game
A nice trip back to the choose your own adventure genre :-)
