"It's Killing Time" is an ultra-violent 140,000-word interactive novel by Eric Bonholtzer, where your choices control the story. It's entirely text-based—without graphics or sound effects—and fueled by the vast, unstoppable power of your imagination.

Earn respect, reputation, and wealth as a hired assassin. You'll be dressed to kill, driving an exotic car with outlandish weapons in the trunk.

But in the glamorous, fast-paced world of murder-for-hire, you can never know who to trust and who's gunning to take you out. Who will betray you? Whom will you betray?

Will you be a spiritual hitman or hitwoman, a ruthless assassin, a total psychopath, or a righteous killer? The choice is yours.

Fantastic, as usual

At least it's not to my tastes when I think about being a badass assassin.

I was happily surprised at the literary quality and detail of the descriptions offered in way of atmosphere. The choices felt like they actually carried some weight and were mostly satisfactory, though there were a couple of times where I felt cheated by there being no additional option beyond the yes/different yes/straight up no answers. Regardless, that is bound to happen in all interactive fictions and I was very happy with the conclusion of my playthrough, albeit just a little bit brought down by the prospect of trying to find another interactive fiction with the same depth. I want more like this.

This was a great interactive novel I LOVED playing as an assasin I played a ruthless sociopathic assassin and I loved doing it! PLEASE make a sequel to this game i want to see my character's story continue!

The story was amazing and so immersive. Loved it. And the choices make such a difference in the story. Totally worth the money. I could literally play this game a dozen times and not get bored.

Killing Time is something of a quagmire, it's riddled with every ridiculous cliche in the book, yet it gives you a plethora of choices to play with them. The plot and characters are utterly ridiculous in how stereotypical they are. Yet KT doubles down on the cheese and hands you a platter of violence to mess around with. It's fun for as long you can suspend your disbelief, in which case, you'll probably enjoy it. For the more demanding player, they won't miss anything in giving this one a skip. Worth a try.

This was an absolute delight to play. I really felt like my decisions mattered. I also loved how the story kept surprising me. I'd recommend this to most! Great read

I'm sorry. Usually I like the CoG games, but this one is among those I'm going to try to forget. The writing was messy and unoriginal and incredibly clichéd and the characters are a jumble of stereotypes, but what really turned me off was that everything was so unbelievable. This is a group of elite trained assassins, yet they read like a group of pals hanging around and talking shop. Not exactly very professional. And no way is assassination as easy as this game makes it seem.

I wanted to like this, I really did, but it just wasn't what I was hoping for. The idea was great, but the writing was uninspired, felt rushed and empty (especially towards the end), and was very short. I jumped the gun on a Choice/Hosted game and came away disappointed... again. The last one I felt invested in was Tin Star and that came out a while ago. Unfortunate because I love IF and want to support it but can't justify future purchases if this is the end result. :/

I was thoroughly impressed by this game. The atmosphere and sense of tension is what you would expect from a top rate thriller novel only in this case you get to control the action. The characters are all fleshed out and as you get into the story really find yourself caring about them. There are some amazing plot twists which I really love because it keeps you hooked. I also love the fact that your choices really matter. As I played I'd find myself agnozing over what choice to make. Really a great game.

Great plot and solid writing. I was really impressed with this game. I've been a big Choice of Games fan for a long time and I found that I couldn't stop playing this one. The characters are fleshed out well and it reads like an interactive thriller. The plot is tense and action-packed but my absolute favorite thing is how customizable the game is. If you want to play a straight-laced professional you can do so or you can choose to be a blood-thirsty psychopath. And the choices really matter to the story. There are a lot of achievements and endings and how you play determines how what ending you get. I've played through the game several times now and I always find something new. It's great because you can choose how to execute the targets in a way that fits with your style. If you like hand to hand combat, there are ways to get up close and personal. If you're a more sniper type hitman then you have options for that. The kills are really well thought out and imaginative. There was definitely a lot of thought put into this game and it shows. I would highly recommend it!

Great game. I normally don't read books but I see a great future for this game on the interactive book market. Perfect for a long plane trip.

U70%
by U####:

Story does not branch in as many ways as Choice of Robot or Heroes Rise. The different assassinations were well thought out, but every bit of dialogue outside of "combat" yields the same or very similar results

U70%
by U####:

I loved the idea, and plot of the story. But I wish it was a bit longer of a story, and more engaging. It had a few errors too but nothing big.

U70%
by U####:

I still found misspellings and extra words, even after the update (only reason I deducted a star).

Y70%

I really enjoyed this game. Are there more planned?

U70%
by U####:

Love the game but after the Paris mission, when you select training, if you choose go to the shooting range, it always decreases the range stat instead of increase. Please fix. It drops a lot making my entire plan dissipate. Please fix

While I did enjoy playing through Killing Time, I felt that the writing was mediocre, even when compared to similar games. If you've played this kind of game before and are looking for something new, give Killing Time a try. If you're looking for the best interactive novel Choice Of has to offer, go with Broadsides. Tin Star from Hosted Games would be a great first choice as well.

Best game ever!! I'm so addicted already. Thank you so much for the creation of this game:)

U70%
by U####:

Out of all CoG games, this one is one of my favourites. It's no Broadsides, but it was still cool, although minor characters could have been used a bit more. Some events were unexpected, your talents were actually crucial to gameplay, and there is no save system, which I actually kind of enjoy. It makes me pay more attention to my choices knowing that if I fail, I'll have to start over from the very beginning (kind of like bloodborne, but not so stressful considering it's a text based game).

T70%
by T####:

This game could use a save system like the one Tin Star has, but you can finish the game pretty well as long you pay attention to your stats. 5/5 will play again

I was absolutly amazed by this game. From the first chapter I was hooked. This game opens with a bang and does not let up. The choices are excellent and the storyline is fantastic. There's a lot of replay value with all kinds of achievements to discover.
