Choice of the Deathless

It was worth it in the end. I bought the game and I don't think it's overpriced (as some stupid people here with high sense of entitlement think). The story is weird. It throws you in deep waters very quickly. I didn't know what was going on at first but when you wait it through you get the hang of it eventually. It's probably one of the best game from Cyog. I wish it was longer.

Max Gladstone wrote a multiple choice adventure set in the world of his Craft books, and it's very engaging. I played it through in a single afternoon and am already curious about how a replay will go with different choices.

This book (and its sequel) are some of the most original fantasy books I've ever read. Even if they *are* adventure books. You'll never read a story like this again, so you should start now!

Each scene is interesting and builds both character and atmosphere. The only downside is some of the stats seem unimportant like sleep and souls (basically magical energy) and student loans.

It's rare to find a work of literary genius such as this that truly makes you feel like it was written just for you, and when you find them they will stick with you forever. I heartily recommend this to anyone and everyone because the price they are asking for is without a doubt worth it.

Maybe this is because I was once a junior attorney in a big firm, but I found this a thoroughly entertaining way to spend a few hours. Much more sophisticated than the games of this sort I played in the 80s.

Gud gam, wuld gam agan. Hav gam agan. So gud. This was really entertaining, definately worth paying for. I'll probably do it again right after I write this review.

This game features an interesting and unique setting, a story with plenty of actual choices, and absolutely has replayability.

This is worth every single dollar it is good I love how there is lots of fighting and some romance I just love it

So what if it costs money? Stop being such a cheap guys. You probably donate more to charity than 3 dollars. People need to make their living, so think of this as the equivalent of a book. You pay for books, no? This isn't "misleading", for you get 2 FREE chapters. Nowhere does it say in the description that the free part was the whole thing. Misleading apps make you pay for the entire story. This app gives you 2 free chapters, so stop your whining and either buy this, or read the book you bought for $20.

The story is very well written, normally things this out of the ordinary don't intrigue me. However this does. I'm also not mad that it's not totally free. I just find it funny that even the creators were like "you know how we said it was free" then I just closed it because I knew at that point it wasn't worth that much for only half of the story. Maybe for all of it, but not half or less.

Very pointlessly convoluted and complicated, seeing as the story was so short. This could easily be the best choice of game but it's too short for what it entails. Stuff like money is useless in the end, and other things like romantic partner don't seem to matter very much. Characterization was also lacking. It was decent, and the writing was fine enough, but could be vastly improved with simply more content.

One of the more boring cyoa games I've played so far...there were a few mistakes in grammar in the beginning which should have been a red flag for me...well I wish I could get my money back but I doubt they give it xD

The game is way too short. I finished my first playthrough in roughly 3 hours. Nonetheless an absolutely great game but for £1.85 i would have expected more.

I was hooked on the story from the begining to the end. I bought the game on Steam a while back, but mobile makes it easier to read. Buy this and you'll have a pleasant experience on the bus ride to work to the walk back home. Absolutly worth the little money they ask for the content !

There were many warnings before getting into it, and the people who rate it low because of this need to get over themselves. It's a great story with a lot of replay value.

So, this is about the price of a novel. Between all the options, I expect it has about the same amount of text. And I got to explore the motivations of my own character. Brilliant. And Max Gladstone has an incredible world to explore.

I quite liked the writing style and choice of words used in this story. Meanwhile, the content itself was intriguing, even though the fantastic and magical terms did get a bit heavy and confusing at times.

It's not free, it only lets you play 5 minutes and then stops the game unless you pay. Shame, since it probably would have been good. Deceitful and greedy. One star is too generous.

This is one of the best cog's I have ever played. Well worth the price. At first, it was hard for me to get into, not being familiar with the Craftsverse, but after playing through once it became much clearer. The writing is beautiful, and the choices have real sway. I have played this game through at least 3 times now and have still not reached all the endings, and every ending leaves me wondering what else I could have done to get a different outcome. Definitely recommend!

You guys. YOU GUYS. THIS is amazing. I kinda thought it will be a bit dull since there's no illustrations or sounds or whatever, BUT - it doesn't matter. You build it all in your head thanks to AMAZING writing. And humor! Story! Characters! Drama and action and decisions! I will definitely replay this, buy the next story and look for this writer's books. Thank you so much for such an amazing journey! :DDDD

Great theme, and ok characters and well written story. Linear through, but choice of actions does affect certain outcomes enough to warrant a 2nd run.

Even though you're basically a lawyer, this game is far from boring. You won't regret buying the full version.

I don't read as much as I'd like to but this still makes it to the top of my list for CYOA books on Android. The whole book flows so well from start to finish. The writing style is crisp in its descriptions and layered in its dialogue. I plan on reading this through a couple times with different characters, just to experience the entirety of it.

I really enjoy these books but I wish this developer would create a monthly sub or something. I'm a poor student and can't afford $3 every time I want to enjoy their content, especially since I can buy a much longer, real, book for that price at a store. I think a small monthly sub for access to all their stories would be a great idea!

This takes me back to the Choose books, in such a great way. It's Max's fabulous words, an enticing story with twists, turns, and moments that make your jaw drop. Whether you're familiar with the books this is based on or not, you'll find this to be truly entertaining.

It was long, yet not tedious. Good twists and the story was delivered in an interesting and fitting way. I look forward to more from the author

Not even going to play it cause that is just plane creepy, and wrong on every level and as Jonathan Wenck would put one star is to much.

This game has made magic and law and everything unnatural and interactive so much fun. As much as the story goes my first play through ended with freedom and being with Cass Chen. Please make more games like this!!!

I love that this is something like 5 separate stories that combine to dictate the path of the main characters career and how the decisions made effect how you're able to survive the introduction.

Threw me for loops and was completely worth the purchase!

I've reached the point where I'd need to pay, but the style of writing in each story drags me in, it makes for quite the sales pitch. Wish there was a package deal so I could read through them all, cos daaaaaaaaaaaamn, these are some of the most enjoyable reads I've had the pleasure of partaking in.

You guys seriously rock. These are the best CYOA "games " I've played ever. Ads aren't even a problem for me. :-)

I couldn't put this down! Superbly written and enchanting. I sure hope there's a sequel to continue the story!! I LOVED IT!
